We stayed at the Siren hotel and decided to give this place a try. The old school decor- even down to the menus, placemats, and dishes were a lot of fun. Our server Tyler was friendly and attentive. The wide variety of music that was playing was refreshing. We decided to split the pancakes and they were melt in your mouth delicious. This place gets an A+ for food, service and atmosphere.

A gem of beauty Superior waitress, superb chefs, amazing price, an overwhelming breathe taken experience. The breakfast pictured was The Irish breakfast and Pancakes for the table. Tasted great.Coffee and Organic Tea well fitted for your pallet. Included in the experience was Vallet parking. You can have a piece of history located in The Siren Hotel

Our server, Tyler was FANTASTIC. The atmosphere was great. There however seemed to be a disconnect in the kitchen staff. The “Head Chef” finds yelling at his cooks and wait staff in front of customers acceptable. My partner and I let our server know he was great, but to cancel our order. On the way out I told the Chef that while I understand he is probably stressed and overwhelmed, him being unprofessional and degrading to his staff in front of a crowd were what caused us to leave. Be better to your staff, Sir. The whole world is short staffed right now. Be kind to those that showed up.

Inside The Siren hotel is the outstanding Karl’s pub-restaurant. Good morning mimosa and pancake breakfast. Love the decor!

I’ve been to Karl’s for both brunch and dinner, and it is definitely more of a brunch spot. The menu is pretty much the same all day. The breakfast pancakes are great, but for dinner the food was really just okay. Extremely limited menu choices. I’d recommend this place for brunch in the morning and cocktails in the evening, though, since it has incredible style and amazing aesthetic!

Amazing spot for food. It's very much a cool retro diner type place. It's located upstairs in the Siren Hotel. The menu is really small, but really good. They have some things that rotate, like their quiche and grilled cheese of the day. We got the five onion quiche and the pancakes for the table. The quiche was incredible. So much so that I hope when I go back they have it again. This place is such a gem. They use Resy to make reservations and, while it wasn't busy around noon when we went, I recommend getting a reservation since it isn't a huge place.

I was not having the best day and this place truly pit the comfort in comfort food. It is elevated and sophisticated without being pompous or bougie. Diners were always my comfort places and this just really hit the spot from the coffee to the music to that personal connection. I had an off menu item which was an open faced buffalo chicken sandwich which just truly was perfectly balanced with bleu cheese and dill. The funny thing is I usually do not like dill nor do I like open sandwiches. This place had me convinced that they are something to really take seriously. The sauces here are made in house and you can easily tell. There is so much potential in a restaurant/diner such as this and I look forward go seeing what else it can dish out! I am so glad that I found this place and definitely would return!

The food was amazing! You enter through the hotel below and take the stairs to the left. When you get to the top you’ll be in this old diner style restaurant. It’s decently priced for the amount of food you get. If you are looking for a lot of food options I would skip this place. Their anytime menu is a little smaller but it works for them because the food was great. Definitely a place you should go to at least once.

Old school diner with typical diner dishes - all day breakfast, milkshakes etc. The only thing is they don’t carry diner desserts. For example, they have banana pudding on the menu but none was available. And then I overheard from the next table they didn’t have whipped cream for milkshakes. No whipped cream? Besides the limited dessert menu, the wedge salad was perfectly delicious. I highly recommend going but be weary if you have a sweet tooth because you may be disappointed.

We enjoyed everything about Karl’s. The hotel lobby and the restaurant were dimly lit and decorated with retro furnitures. Everyone seemed to be just eating and relaxing there, and we didn’t feel rushed. Orange juice was fresh, and the pancake was the best I’ve ever had. The Irish breakfast was also delicious, and the service was great. We will be back to eat the same thing and to tryout something new!!

Located on the second floor of the Siren Hotel, dining here felt like entering a time machine transported to a charming art deco style 1950's diner. If you have any appreciation for Detroit architecture, this diner is a must visit. No detail was overlooked. The food was superb. I ordered the frittata of the day and a cup of their signature tomato soup, both delicious. I sampled my companion's Irish Breakfast and have already decided to come back for that dish alone. The service was top-notch and the entire restaurant including the bathroom was so clean I would eat off the floor. And I almost forgot to mention the coffee, among the best roast I have tasted in any cafe in the city. I don't write restaurant reviews often, but this place left a unique impression on me. The atmosphere, cuisine, service and pricing makes this place a real gem. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the decor and menu and have a high regard for customer service and cleanliness.

Interesting concept, of a vintage 60’s diner. The menu is small and covers your basic sandwiches, milkshakes and salads but not cheap as your Coney Island just FYI . It is a bit hard to find as is inside a hotel in their second floor but once you’re in you feel in a different place! Is convenient if you are attending a show or event in Detroit.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The star of the show for me was the grilled cheese with bacon and caramelized onions! I also had the spaghetti with duck and chicken meatballs it was delicious.

Food was decent but nothing particularly special and the menu did not reflect the current choices. Our server didn’t really explain them either until asked. Kitchen staff was kind when brining out food and apologized for the wait as we waited over 30 minutes for our food. We totally understand the reality of being short staffed at this time. However there was 0 communication while waiting for our food and our server was often just standing at the bar. The only communication we received was when the kitchen dropped off our food. As an aside the manager was openly rude to his busser on the main floor. Not the best show of service.

Aesthetically pleasing, cool concept, friendly staff.. Completely underwhelming/overpriced food. Never been so disappointed in a $15 salad.
