Benihana is a great place to go too when you find the right location. The Dearborn location is hit or miss but the food is always phenomenal. Service there is 50/50, reservation was made for 9:30 got seated at 10:30 and the hibachi chef named frank started to cook for us at 11:30 . My wife got a eggshell in her fried rice haha glad it was not me stuff happens but was kinda let down . Felt very rushed and was given boxes as soon as frank the hibachi chef was done cooking it . Felt like they were kicking us out and didn't get to finish our meal . So go early rather then later .

We had gone as a date night for the hibachi table. Called and reserved for 8 and arrived 10 mins early only to be told that seating is not until 8:15. We were seated and drinks ordered. They arrived promptly. However by 9:10 the chief had not come out to our table. Place smelled bad. Services was not good. Sushi Appetiser were disgusting. There was a straight dollop of regular mayonnaise on top of the sushi. Wasted a date night and gave a bad taste in the mouth. Will not be going again can’t believe people come here to celebrate.

Had reservations scheduled for my son's birthday on Sept 4,2023. Had to give my credit card information in order to reserve. However, wasn't allowed to sit until everyone in the group showed up. The front door staff was ghetto. The restaurant itself is outdated and really dusty looking. My reservations were at 7, my entire party was required to be inside by 7:15 pm, we were all there by 7:13 pm and we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we waited another hour and a Half before the cook came out to prepare our meals. My guest began leaving around 9 pm without the food they ordered and payed for. My son did NOT receive a dessert and Noone sang happy birthday tho they were aware that it was his birthday. The food quality and portions are NOT worth the cost. Overall this is a terrible ghetto restaurant and none of us will be returning. This place was an absolute disappointment 😞 The restroom was disgusting and the stall had a broken door. 1 out of 10 would NOT recommend.... and we NEVER GOT ANY YUMYUM SAUCE!!!

We were hoping to dine in and have the hibachi experience unfortunately they were close to closing and only doing takeout orders. The wait time for takeout was an hour. We sat in the bar areas, ordered drinks and appetizers. They did not disappoint!! Highly recommended, always ask for extra garlic butter. If you know, you know....it is such an amazing addition to your food!

Awful experience. Smh. Horrible food and service. Food I didn't order on my plate, ignored when I mentioned it. Didn't get my drink until way after my food arrived. I don't eat seafood, when asked did I have allergies I said no peanuts and i don't like seafood, they still put shrimp on my plate. Waited for the waitress to get back which took forever, told her about the shrimp and she told me while she walked away that they put shrimp on everything. Offered nothing to correct it. Bathroom was a mess. There were no highlights to this trip. I thought about just getting up and leaving more than once and I should have. Worst dining experience I have ever had.

We had a reservation at 7:30 we were seated at 7:50. Chef came at 8:45 no show nothing he only lit fire for 1sec and cooked the order and left. We had a birthday celebration they did not bring in the cake! There is so much smoke in the air making a cloud not recommend to bring babies along with you.

We've been coming to this location for many years. Recently for my husband's birthday, Ahmad was our server he was very attentive, our drinks were never empty. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu. Our cook was Wendy, the food was amazing. Our Steak was cooked perfect, the chicken & shrimp were also very good. She definitely didn't skimp on the garlic butter. Overall we had a great experience.

Service was bad . Had a reservation fir 8 didnt get sat till about 9:12. Soup and salad came before drinks. Our rice was burnt and crispy. We watched out chef put a whole bottle of soy in our rice. My fiance got the calamari scallops and shrimp.... all burnt as well. Our chef dropped a ton of food straight on the ground and left out food to burn while running back to the kitchen for forgotten stuff. ... inclyding my steak. Since he forgot my steak instead of being medium was rare :/ Our friend sitting next to us got lobster and it was burnt as well. We ordered 2 shots of greygoose and it took over 20 mins for it. We were super excited but this is just not a good location. A manager comped us 15$ on a 130$ meal. Thats j not good enough. Our sherbet cane w a piece of lettuce in it.... not to mention our milkshake came out as a blob

First I attempted to order online for delivery and was charger three times on my credit card. We went it due to being extremely hungry and traveling. Never have a ever been to a location where you don’t receive yum yum sauce at the beginning with the other sauce options example ginger and teriyaki. The cook asked and I accepted all and asked for yum yum sauce she stated I needed to ask the waitress. Let me say this place is poorly managed!!!!!! The waitress was very rude Brought the wrong drinks to the table. The cook could barely speak English over salted all the food and I could not eat it. I repeatedly asked the waitress for yum yum sauce to counter the salty meal. I waited over 30 minutes and finally a different waitress brought some to the table which the sauce was like water it was so thin it didn’t taste like yum yum sauce. It was horrible I could not eat the meal. To add to insult on the receipt I was over charged for additional drinks and an additional hibachi meal. We ordered one hibachi meal and ordered one side of rice to accompany ordering sushi. I was charged for one side and one full hibachi chicken rice . I expressed that was not what we ordered she refused to take it off. Saying that we received it I then addressed the additional drink we did not have. That was the only thing the waitress would take off. She was extremely rude. I stated I would contact the corporate office due to the manager being so young I felt it would be more of the same. Try another location.

An update for 4/31/22 Food was amazing again! BUT...... I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. The server was doing her best, I know she was. My son was there and she decorated his milk like a cocktail, it was so sweet. The chef's show seemed to be rushed and missing a lot of the flair that I'm used to. Another party at the table failed to tip, which left me with an angry server complaining about it while she was running my tab. Awkward and disappointing. The wait was long to be seated and get our order started once we were seated. The wait area was dirty. 9Reservation was at 4:30, we weren't seated until after 5, and we weren't eating until 6. For 3 people, the bill was not at all worth it. I will have to think hard about returning. Right now, I doubt it. Sad. Delicious every time, but pricey. We had fun. 2 drinks each and it was $125+ after tip. It could easily be a $150 night every visit. The food and show is great. Lots of fun.

Mmmm.....the big blue drink for 2 was soooo yummy...the fruit punch drink was good too.... the food was sooo delicious and cooked perfectly! I believe our chef was pretty new because he was a bit slower w cooking than we have experienced in the past, but he did very well and was pleasant to chat with. Our waiter was a doll!!! He was attentive, charming and fun! We had a great time, left w full bellies, happy hearts and leftovers to take home 😋

Let’s start with the positives. The soup was great. The new friends we sat with were wonderful! Shout to (Miss Brenda Marathon Lady) and her lovely daughters. We waited about an hour and a half to get our chef. I did get My sushi. Miss Brenda did not. Drinks were hard to get also. The rice was phenomenal but we didn’t know until the bill came that it isn’t Included, as per our waitress, even though it says it comes with rice. My shrimp and scallops were wonderful, but my lobster was way over cooked. We didn’t get our green tea. We didn’t get our ice cream and it wasn’t taken off. Our bill came very wrong, over $30 wrong. I tried to explain it was wrong and waitress shut me down. She did correct it( except tea and ice cream) but wasn’t interested in us talking to her about it. I know she was very busy and I do believe they were understaffed. I get it. I do feel strongly that our bill should have reflected that. It was my first time and I would probably try it again if only for the rice and the soup. They were awesome! Hope next time is better.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! We ordered chicken and steak fried rice that serves 4 and 2 sides of veggies. They sent us 1 small container with steak, chicken and shrimp. Could not possibly be enough for 4 people and we did not order shrimp. We spent $70 to get the wrong order and a spoonful of food. Had to take it back meaning we wasted delivery fee and Tip to have the wrong order. Very disappointed, won’t be coming back and if this is the portion size for carry out you might as well dine in, you get way more food. This was such a rip off!!!!

The food was great! It took them about 45 minutes to bring our chef out. The alcohol drinks taste like juice. I give them a 4/5.

Kyle the Hibachi cook....OUTSTANDING! Service was subpar from the staff service. Forgetting alot and not really at the standards Benni once had. Kyle is the one that saved it from a 3 star. Food was great per usual and the establishment itself is awesome. Serving staff just needs to be a lot more attentive. I understand multiple tables, but honestly just coming back every so often to check would go along ways. Service friendly, just needs more attention to detail. Kyle.....18 yrs I commend you. Congrats and keep doing what you are doing because you are awesome at it.

I used to love this place. The food is still good but the service and everything else was terrible. We got there with reservations for 6:30, got seated closer to 7. Order was taken close to 7:20 (but didn’t take a drink order). Around 7:50 our soup came out, salad was another 15 min after that. The chef didn’t even come out until close to 8:30. By the time he was done our rice and everything was cold. We barely ate, just packed up our food and left to heat up and eat at home. And we got all this for the low low price of $120 (for 2 people). I’ll never come back to this location again.

Ahmad hands down the best waiter. Friendly and doing his job with a smile. 10/10 recommend him. & Kyle our cook da bomb!

I went on Easter and it was nice. The restaurant was almost empty which did not bother me. My cook was amazing! Everything tasted as delicious as it should. The server was great!

Food was great chef was amazing but I had to ask the waitress a couple of times for the same things, then when I finally got my drink it had a fly in it!! I then called her over and returned it, we didn’t get a comp or anything for the gross inconvenience (especially since I took a sip 🤮) but just got the drink removed as I didn’t drink it, feel like they could have showed more hospitality for this and been more accommodating!! Last thing someone wants to sip is a gnat. Especially considering it was a birthday celebration.

Reservation was at 6. They sat us around 6:20, we were told we would be sat by 6:15. The table could have been cleaner. Our server was pretty busy, he had to change out most the table plates when he came to take our orders. We got our orders taken at about 6:40, soups and then drinks followed. Right before I was going to ask about the napkins and chopsticks, they were brought to the table. (Fork is in the napkin now) chef was making food at about 7:05. Passion fruit lemonade tasted like grapefruit. (8/10) not horrible just not what we were looking for. The chef was amazing. I believe his name is (Ali). We were told he was the head chef. I had a Rocky’s choice, suggested by the server… my daughter got hibachi steak. We had a total of 5 orders of chicken fried rice. I can never complain about the food. Great portions, and very entertaining. If you eat while your meal is being prepared, you will be full by the time the show is over. Tip the chef and the server… tips are shared anyway. Back in college I worked at Benihana Troy. I will always love this place… the experience is greater based off the passion of the ppl who work here.

I’ve always loved Benihana and the food never disappoints. The chefs are always top notch and the specials are usually worth it. The atmosphere is great but the only downside Ive experienced is the undertrained service. For the price, the experience would be more enjoyable with a front of house staff that knew the food and drink menus. The wait is always pretty long but should be expected!

This is a pretty nice restaurant i enjoyed my first time eating there. You can walk in or make reservations or take-out.

I ordered two lunch dinners with a side of sushi. The chili shrimp roll wasn’t made right my sauce tasted like bbq!! The chicken and shrimp to my hibachi lunch was extremely burnt to the point the burnt pieces were falling off into my rice when I mixed it!

Awesome food! Some cooks are better than others. Some waitresses are better than others. But overall nice place!

1st time eating there. Very enjoyable and relaxing place to eat . Kyle was awesome he cooked for us. He was awesome. Food was wonderful and everyone was friendly and very welcoming.

The food was fine and the server was nice but the restaurant has gone down hill. Completely filthy. The hood of our table and lights were covered in grease and the grease dripped down on us from the hood. I would be disgusted if this was a Coney Island but it’s unacceptable for the prices they’re chanting for it to be this gross and grimy.

I always enjoy dining at this Dearborn location. It's close to my home and the service and food taste better than others locations I've eaten at. My recent experience for my birthday on March 24th was the best ever. I've been dinning there for more than 35 years and never had the food tasted as it did prepared by KYLE last week. HE COOKED OUR FOOD TO PERFECTION. Using my $30 birthday coupon, I decided ordered the surf n turf. It was delicious. The service was exceptional.

First I’d like to give thanks to their host Daniel. He did everything he could to make sure me and my guest were comfortable and enjoyed every moment dispute how ran down the restaurant may have seemed. Waiter was a little “Ghetto” but overall the chicken was decent. The drinks were delicious. But Daniel gets the credit on this post, not Benihana 💕
