I know how Japanese food should taste. This restaurant serves overpriced food that is like a cheap counterfeit of original Japanese food. I did not expect a lot from this restaurant, and I was correct. Only Su Udon was okay and Miso Ramen was terrible. I do not recommend this restaurant. Also, the Asian woman waitress who does not look like Japanese at all (I have seen a review that she looks like Japanese) is rude and treats customers as if she is a captain.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was the worst sushi I've had in my life. First, the ginger salad was not fresh. I was told the chef was going on break and had a lot of orders so it would take about an hour for my order. No big deal, I wasn't in a rush. But then the chef came back and people that just sat down got their orders. Fortunately a server, Jessica checked on me and took care of my order. She was the best part of this experience. I got the Philadelphia roll and couldn't finish it. The salmon must have been under some kind of heat because it was very warm. I don't expect much from an airport but I didn't expect my local shop-rite's pre- made sushi to be far superior either. Don't order any drinks with ice either!

I've eaten at Sora while connecting through Detroit dozens of times over the last 5-10 years. The food quality has gone downhill significantly over the last year. I understand a new group purchased the restaurant. Unfortunately, I would not recommend eating here and would hope the new owners are listening.

This is the worst sushi I have ever hard. I ordered avocado and tofu rolls. The avocado roll was edible. However I could not eat the tofu rolls. Take a look for yourself.

The people leaving this place mediocre reviews are out of their mind. You‘re in an airport 1000 miles from an ocean, eating fresh sushi in prepared by someone who knows what they’re doing, and it actually tastes really good. You could be eating a $15 Caesar salad that came out of a pallet. This place is great. I don’t pass through this terminal often, but when I do, I look forward to eating here.

I didn’t have high expectations at all since it is an airport Japanese restaurant in Detroit. So I ordered the safe choice - ramen. But it still amazed me how bad $18 ramen could taste. Instant ramen is better than this. The noodle texture is weird, the soup is completely wrong, and the meat tasted like wood. Should have just bought instant ramen instead.

The waitress was awesome but and sushi was so so and no cold glasses and beer warmed fast. I had 5 them...lol. or maybe I'm spoiled with Goros in San Antonio?

If you’re in rush please don’t eat here … customer service is terrible… I come from the service industry and I was so disappointed… We ordered takeout and were told not sit in the restaurant and it’s empty…they way we were approached was not okay and I hope you do better than today tomorrow… and the person taking my order made me feel like an inconvenience…They just added unnecessary stress which kind of sucked … people at airports are either excited for a vacation or sad about a loss … you never know … do your part and be kind 💕 sushi was good ⭐️

The sushi looked great but didn't have the flavors I was expecting. They also did not offer paper menus and my phone was dead. The waitress couldn't tell me what the web address was online do i could pull up on my computer. I was told to go look at the menu in the front if the restaurant. Price of sushi roll was too expensive for what I got.

We ate here while traveling through Detroit. We had the black dragon roll, shiitake roll, and a cucumber avocado roll. We also had a bottle of sake. It was pretty reasonably priced for a sit down airport restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about every question I asked. Our food came out very fast, although we were there between meal times.

Sushi was just okay. Ordered the the Great Lakes Roll. The staff is super fun and nice. A very pleasant place to chill while waiting. Bought a bottle of sake (Moonstone Plum Sake) and it was sweet but very good. They have a okay bar - a number of liquor options but not everything. And no menu or the mixed drinks you could make with their offerings, so it kind of makes it hard to decide if you don’t have a go-to drink.

Only gave 4 stars because of my waitress, she was just preoccupied and I was her only customer at the time. So my requests should’ve been quick and simple. On another note. The food was great, came out quick.

It’s airport sushi so you can’t really have super high expectations, but the food is pretty decent for what it is. Staff is also friendly which is a plus and food comes out relatively quick

Great service. You might wait a little it they are willing to work with you and just so nice. The food could be better. However for the prices at an airport, definitely didn’t mind.

Great atmosphere and proximity to gates 34, 36, and the Westin hotel entrance. But it is frighteningly expensive. For a Ninja specialty roll, a single piece of eel nigiri, and one order of tuna maki it was $46 without tip. That is also with us ordering water to drink. The tables and decor are very nice and the convenience is great. The sushi was decent quality and service was friendly and prompt.

This establishment is by far the best place to eat in DTW. The sushi is excellent, and the ramen is an amazing warm meal to be enjoyed in a relaxed way in the middle of a crowded airport. The service is always fast and friendly (Tonia reflected this in our recent 11/17 visit), so I always make a point to stop in unless I have a very tight connection.

I travel all over…I love excellent service ..who found Trang? She is a GIFT! Best service I’ve had in ages…WOW Oh and the food was awesome. She suggested I get something different than I was going to order…..she was RIGHT! Airport food does NOT have to be bad. Airport service does not have to be indifferent❤️

We got gyoza, spicy soba and chicken teriyaki 😋 All good 😊 They only have one server and she's so kind and great 👍 If you have time or waiting for your flight, you should eat here 😍
