My recent visit to Cracker Barrel reminded me even a long time favorite can fall from grace. My first disappointment came when I ordered the Cinnamon Pie Roll, a featured menu item. Just ten minutes later, the waitress informed me they were out, a puzzling situation considering it was advertised in their current TV commercial. To make matters worse, her recommendation, biscuits and gravy, was an underwhelming and overpriced substitute. My request for well-done bacon was very fatty and undercooked. Another source of frustration were menu changes. Grits, a staple that previously came with Old Timers or the Sunrise Sampler, were now an additional $1.99. Even cheese for scrambled eggs was an extra $1.49, leaving me feeling like I was being nickel and dimed for every bite. Adding insult to injury, they didn't even have bottled water available. While I wouldn't normally ding a restaurant for this, it added to the overall feeling of dissatisfaction. Finally, the chaotic checkout process further eroded any positive feelings I had left. With unclear instructions and a cashier allowing others to cut in line, I felt disregarded and frustrated. This was the final straw, leading me to abandon my My frustration reached its peak at the checkout. The registers were a disorganized mess, with no clear line or direction. After waiting patiently for my turn, the cashier inexplicably allowed other customers to cut in front of me. This was the final straw, prompting me to abandon $100 worth of merch and walking out. Cracker Barrel has lost its charm and replaced it with a focus on profit over customer experience.

I’m not giving them 5 stars ⭐️ cause they take for ever and I’m very patient but wait 45 minutes to be seated and 45 minutes to serve your breakfast 🥞 is way too much, I still going cause I like the food to be honest is good 👍🏽

Clean, inviting, Excellent products and service! I drove all the way from Detroit so my daughter could buy a Gigapet AR interactive toy.

When we came it was not busy at all, but we still had to wait for a table to be cleaned to be sat. Waitress was the only good thing about the experience. Food was mediocre at best. Restaurant was dirty and during our entire visit there was no attempt to clear tables. Very disappointing. I hadn't been there in a long time and was looking forward to it. Probably won't go back. Especially for how much I spent. Should have gone somewhere else.

Cracker Barrel is pretty consistent in terms of the food. This review is based on the service. We waited almost an hour to get our food after ordering. While things happen sometimes, there was a huge lack of communication. When we asked for some biscuits and cornbread after the original 20 minutes, the request was met with visible irritation by our server. Customer service literally makes consumer's experiences.

Great pancakes! They were so good that we bought the mix on the way out. Fun atmosphere. I ordered crispy bacon and it came out practically uncooked, but they were busy so I kept quiet and ate my delicious breakfast. The adorable little syrup bottles were warm and a nice touch. I'll have to go back for dinner soon.

This Cracker Barrel has TERRIBLE customer service!!! One star is one too many. My daughter and I had breakfast on Sunday March 19, 2023 at 10:45am. When our food came out, it was cold. To the point, that the butter wouldn't even melt across the pancakes. The waitress did not come to check on us until 10 minutes our food came. By the time, I had an angry 5yr hungry and could care less about her cold food. For the sake of a scene, I let her eat her food. She's 5, they don't care about the mediocrity of the food, they simply want to eat. Once the waitress finally came back to check on us, I asked for the manager. I forgot to mention earlier that when I ordered a cup of decaf coffee, it didn't come out until my food came out. So about 20 - 25 minutes for a cup of coffee. Back to the story, I asked my waitress to send over the manager. Approximately 10 more minutes had gone by and still no manager. I suspected that the lady standing up there with the iPad was the manager but I was not for certain. Once my waitress came back to the table, 10 minutes later I asked her if she told the manager I needed to see her, she said yes. I asked her to go and remind the manager I needed to speak with her. I watch the waitress walk over to the lady with the iPad, and sure enough it was the manager. She came over right away. This indicated to me that whatever I wanted was not important nor of any value. Once the manager came over, a heavy set black woman I asked her if the waitress told her that I wanted to see her. I told her I had been waiting over 10 minutes. The manager stated yes she told me but I was busy doing other things, what can I help you with? I cannot believe her attitude when she was speaking with me. It was as though she hated everything about that job. She was not friendly she had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. I told her that my food came out cold and my eggs were not cooked as requested and my bacon was hardly cooked at all, it was nearly raw. I also explained to her that my daughter's pancakes were cold but due to her having a meltdown I allowed her to begin eating them. Anyone who knows about cracker barrel or as ever had a meal there knows that they always bring warm syrup out. I told her that it was not warm and I would like to have it warmed. The manager decided to take my meal back. When she brought the mail back out, I was shocked that the pancakes still were not hot. The butter did not melt, but I was not going to have it sent back again. I already felt uneasy because I could not see who was handling my food back there in the kitchen. As I began to eat my meal, it was not appetizing at all. Just as I went to take another bite of the dry and cold pancakes I noticed there was a piece of hair in my food. This was after I cut into the pancake so it was cooked in the batter. At that moment I felt as though she did something to my food. I told her of the incident and she told me that she would take care of the bill but her attitude about it was absolutely terrible. As though I did something to her. It's no wonder her wait staff operated the way it did, her leadership was unprofessional and unbecoming. Cracker barrel does not have an abundance of restaurants in the area. It's a shame that I have to make a decision not to support and bring my business to this cracker barrel that is within close proximity of my home because I can't count on quality food and excellent customer service. I am highly disappointed.

Normally This place is a staple for good breakfast.. and some really good Pancakes 🥞 if you enjoy crispy edges. They actually have pretty good fried chicken.. Usually there is a wait, this time I received a text from Cracker Barrel that said 70 mins wait.. So I decided to make a run since I had more than an hour to kill..And low and behold they text back in like 30 mins, saying our table was ready....So I had to leave DSW expeditiously and head back... 💥 BOOM.I'm sitting down at table for like 20 mins without being serviced.. Finally, a waitress came and took my order.. It looked liked they were having trouble because some waitress was ready to go and there was a dispute amongst the staff. Service is usually descent, but considering it wasn't as busy as I have seen it before I expected better service . I kinda feel like there under new management or something, because there are alot of employees and everybody looking like they confused. Today was not a good experience for the food either.. My eggs looked crazy and was extremely dry, pancakes.. pancakes... the number #1, reason I am here is for the 🥞... They were super chewy!!!! Definitely not a good experience.

March 2nd & 23rd. Only went back for my mother as the first time, she did not receive the Ham, Meatloaf & one of three sides with her meal. They were gracious enough to replace her meal. But that meant another trip there! I do love the Country store & found some great deals.90 minutes later, received our food. I ordered the Fried Chicken, wanted fish, but was told they have fish on the weekends. The chicken was terrible . Absolutely Terrible. My sides were terrible. Wasted $$. My moms replacement meal has made her say..."I will not ask you to go there again". And we have always LOVED Cracker Barrel. I especially love the Catfish. The staff there is very friendly & seems to be working understaffed. Not sure if I'll be going back.

Had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. No dressing, cranberry sauce, or pie. The biscuits were hard. We were so disappointed in the food. The sweet potato casserole was good. Got a carry out of country fried steak and hash browns and were only able to eat half and had to throw it out. This was always my favorite restaurant but not now. Probably be along time before We go back. Our server was apologetic and very nice.

Arrived around 7:30, the place wasn't very busy. Pleasant greeting and quick seating. Things started sliding downhill from there. Our server, Dana, was okay, but not really welcoming. Brought our drinks and food, and then she totally ditched us until it was time for the bill. She even ignored us when she came back to a table next to ours. We had the beef tips, shrimp and chicken tenders special. Beef tips were hit and miss. Some were chewy, some were tender. Shrimp was okay. Chicken tenders were crispy and tender, BUT, we really wanted some ranch dressing for dipping. Couldn't get Dana's attention, so we flagged down Haley and asked her to please help us out. She nodded, then proceeded to totally ignore us, even though she was back and forth past us several times. We gave up on trying to eat the tenders and took them home in a box. When Dana returned with the bill, we let her know of our displeasure. She apologized and said she'd take the bill to the Manager, Jill, to see if it could be adjusted. After what seemed like forever, she brought it back and Jill had taken about 25% off.

It was cold outside and an hour before they close the meatloaf on the menu was supposed to be a fast order item. I was a little alarmed how cold the food was when I received it so I had to run out to my car real quick and get my thermometer and my meatloaf was only 8 degrees warmer than my body temperature. As you can tell I like black pepper. Good luck y'all getting a warmer plate of food.

Food was good and reasonably priced for what all you get. I had the Sunrise Sampler and it was more than enough food to eat. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. It was pretty crowded. Got there around 10am on a Saturday and there was a line but it wasn't too bad of a wait to be seated. There was a wait for the food to get to the table. I would say placed the order and maybe wait another 15 to 25 mins to get the food.

Overall everything was pretty average. We started with fired pickles which looked a little greasy but tasted good The chicken had good flavor but was a little tough, the apple slices were very sweet, and the Mac and cheese was basic and a little watery (but not as much as the grits.) The biscuits and cornbread were very nice. Our server wasn't very efficient but she was friendly.

Ordered the fried pickles appetizer. Unavailable. Ordered the country fried pork chops. Unavailable. Waitress said to order something else but didn't bring us another menu to look at. Food took close to an HOUR to arrive despite mostly empty restaurant. Seriously - like 10 tables max! After food arrived we realized we were never given cutlery. After specifically asking for cutlery I didn't receive a fork. Had to ask again. We were never given the complementary cornbread. We were never given (or charged for) the dessert we ordered. Waitress must have forgot? At this point we decided to leave and not even bring it up. We love cracker barrel and understand this is far from fine dining but man what a mess at this location.

My breakfast took a little long to come out. My pecan pancakes weren’t as warm as I would’ve liked. Chicken sausage wasn’t done as much as wanted. Definitely felt like my food had sat out before being brought to me. Taste was good but butter barely melted on the pancakes.

Went out of my to eat at Cracker Barrell tonight. Usually the food is wonderful. Tonight it was completely unedible. My grilled chicken was blackened. I ordered mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. The macaroni was so disgusting and overcooked. The waitress brought me apples that I did not order. The mashed potatoes were slop covered in gravy. I did not speak with a manager. There was no concern from the waitress when she notified that I didn't eat my food. The sweet tea was not sweetened at all. I asked for a coke because the tea tasted old and moldy. It was on a Friday night at dinner time. I always used to look forward to getting my meal from here. I was beyond disgusted. I was still hungry when I left. I will never eat here again. Customer's beware!

I am extremely frustrated with this particular location and the knowledge of the staff. Training needs to be provided on several levels. We dined in for dinner and the cashier charged my credit card twice. I called when I realized the charges were on my account twice. No one knew how to help, I was told to call the next day. I called the next day and I was told by a manager to come in and it would be corrected. I went into the store and no one knew how to correct it. Mind you when I was there the SAME CASHIER did the same thing to ANOTHER customer. She happened to overhear me and check her account. No one could reverse her charges and it LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED. I was then told that although the charges appear twice it was guaranteed my card was not ran twice, and that one charge would fall off. She was told that as well. After several days, the charges went from pending to posted and I was charged twice. I have called back to the store and no one knows how to help they have directed me to corporate. It should not take a week or more to be refunded money they overcharged. Corporate is a couple hours behind me so I have to wait even longer and be inconvenienced more to handle this situation.

First tume trying this chain , it was a crispy delicious cod dinner with a delicious hush puppy and fried shrimp .even the coleslaw was fresh with the perfect amount of sweetness and dressing . The coffee was excellent and the server Shakayla was very attentive and pleasant . I will definitely be returning.

The food was good. However the service was very disappointing! My fiance wanted to order a grilled chicken salad, but couldn't order it BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY LETTUCE! WHAT?! So he otter an sweet ice tea and they forgot to bring it to him. Sigh! Then it took hours for everyone in our party to get there food. I don't think I'll be back

Where would you like me to start. At the last minute our family decided to get together there to send my niece off to Kentucky on a new adventure. From the get go the hostess was very rude and unwilling to accommodate the 8 of us unless all the party was there. B.S. to that. Even though it was fairly empty she insisted that the "experienced help" wouldn't get there until 4 and unless we were all there, they were unable to seat us all together B.S. to that too. We did a little puzzling but all 11 of us adults & 2 babies sat together. I asked 2 times if something could be done regarding the sun blinding those of us that were sitting facing West but no one was accommodating on that either. With the high prices and overcharging you're doing, yes I was charged $4 for a coke I never drank, buy some new blinds please. I'll never go back there to know if you get them or not but what a sad place. The "experienced" waitresses were great and my hats off to the cook..... those grilled chicken strips were the best I've ever eaten....except for mine of course. Do better Cracker Barrel. Hire the right friendly hostess and a couple of speedy cashiers. Not that all seniors are slow but the 10 person 15 minute lineup to pay was ridiculous.

Really long wait and waitress is not attentive. Barely checking on us brought our drinks with our food. Complain twice to hostess. Brought our salad and appetizers with our food. First time here very disappointed. My party is a grandmother myself and my 10 yr old son. Oh but bet all the older adults had perfect service. Would not recommend for a family.

Wow was this place bad on all accounts. The host was complaining about everything he had to do and smelled so foul I had to walk 10 ft behind him to our table so I wouldn't gag. They were out of half of everything we asked for. Fried pickles? Sorry we're out. Mashed potatoes? Out. Mac and cheese? Out. The biscuits weren't cooked thoroughly. I ordered the country fried turkey special, and it was drier than a desert and served without the gravy... Just two overcooked deep fried turkey leathers on a plate with hash brown casserole that tasted two hours past it's prime. I asked for it to be sent back, they said they were out of it now which I was fine with and I'd take the pork chops instead. Manager comes to the table... Sold out of pork chops as well. By that time everyone else had eaten what they could of their miserable meals so I said please just take it off our bill. Instead of just comping my order that wasn't eaten and taken away, he "discounted" everyone's order at the table a couple bucks off of the entrees. That's great and all, but we were on separate checks, which means I still paid $8 for a $12 meal that I ate two bites of and was taken away. The server gave us our drinks prior to the appetizer coming out and didn't bring refills until after everyone was done with their entrees. Overall, no one in my party of 4 was happy with their food or service, and my son-in-law apologized to us for even suggesting the place. I've been to plenty of cracker barrels, this one I will never return to.

Love the old country charm. And, who doesn't love to shop before and or after a meal?! Stopped in for breakfast, the food was just ok, presentation needs rethinking. Had a nice server - kudos Vee

We went on Friday around 6pm. Was told that it’d be 30-40 minutes wait for 3. We waited inside the gift shop for an hour & never got called. We asked the host & she said to give them 5 minutes. We get sat, wait about 10 minute for drink orders. Drinks come around and there was a dead fly in mine. Got a new drink while waiting for our food. Our food comes around after another hour of waiting. I ordered a steak medium rare (expecting to be not the best). Our waitress drops our food off while we wait for her to get silverware, then have to wait for her to come back around again because there was no steak knife. Once I finally got it and was able to cut into the steak it was cold (possibly from waiting for utensils) and it’s grey, it’s so burnt. Then we had remembered that we were supposed to get biscuits, but we never did. It’s was such a bad experience, we were there for a close to 3 hours with everything. Tamlin, one of the managers was friendly & did end up refunding the whole table & offered to remake new meals. At this point, we were over it & ready to go. So disappointed, it was such a bad experience.

Rude female manager, dirty pancakes, unprofessional way of speaking to customers. I forgot that I took pictures of the pancakes. She offered NO resolution but to blame me for complaining. My bad I wanted food without dirt!
