    If you’re looking for a place to get/stay healthy and make life long friendships, look no further. Five Lakes is it. Seriously. I’ve been a member at a few other CrossFit gyms since 2019, and I knew from the moment I walked in that this place had something different. The community is one of a kind and I’ve met some of my dearest friends within the walls of this gym. The coaches and owners are top-notch and genuinely care about the well-being, safety, and progress of every person they encounter. I’m so grateful life led us to Five Lakes!

    When we moved back to Michigan from Cincinnati in 2021, I had already started Crossfit so I had a good idea of what I was looking for in a great gym and checked out pretty much everything in Oakland County. After my first drop-in at Five Lakes I knew immediately it was going to be the right choice. Five Lakes has great owners/coaches, athletes, facilities, community, and programming. James, Liz, and the rest of the coaching crew are extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive for athletes of all levels. I’ve been with Five Lakes for 2+ years now and I feel without a doubt that they are the best in the area. Whether you are an experienced athlete or a beginner looking to make big change in your lifestyle/fitness, I would strongly recommend Five Lakes as the place to be!

    Five Lakes is the best gym around. They have top level coaches that are extremely knowledgeable and great with adapting workouts to your abilities, whether you’re an elite level competitive athlete or someone who cannot squat to parallel, the coaches are great for all levels. The community and people there are also awesome and inspiring. There are amazing athletes that are fun to just watch and there are people that lost capacities from cancer that are fighting back and making progress every day. No matter where you turn there is someone to motivate and inspire you. On top of all of this, the facility is great, clean and welcoming. Plenty of space and equipment to get fit, have fun, meet awesome people and shatter your goals!

    Terrible OTF location and like all the franchises owned in MI by Scott, run terribly. Have had a membership at OTF for years. They had the audacity to tell me that I couldn’t bring a guest to try it out, because my guests don’t sign up at a high enough rate or don’t want to sit around after a workout for their pushy sales pitch when, if they liked it, they could just join via the app etc. God-forbid someone try out one class. There’s nothing to discuss after, it’s pretty self-explanatory. If someone likes it, they’ll join. If not, no big deal. Also, very gossipy instructors at this location.

    I have been working out there nearly three months and it is really a great CrossFit gym! James, Liz and all the trainers really take the time to make sure everyone understands the movement and works on their technique to ensure everyone's safety and maximum effectiveness in working out. I have seen my strength and flexibility improve tremendously since I started and am excited to see what I can improve on in 2018.

    A wonderful gym to belong to. You are not just a member but part of a family. Could not ask for more positive and encouraging coaches we have here at Five Lakes. Not matter your fitness level from beginner to advanced they can accommodate anyone not matter what level you are at!

    Five Lakes is my favorite place to be. The owners, James and Liz, have cultivated a space centered on community, learning and healthy challenge. I never thought I’d consider myself an athlete again after many years away from competitive sports, but this gym has rebuilt my relationship and love for fitness and introduced me to the “play” that the sport of CrossFit allows us to explore, even as adults. If you’re around for the holidays or looking for a fresh start, this is your spot.

    Been a member for over 5 years, and still never bored with a workout. Not only does Five Lakes have highly trained, extremely knowledgeable and encouraging coaches, they foster a warm, friendly, and inviting environment in which all feel welcome - no matter their age, physical fitness levels, etc. The camaraderie between members to inspire and cheer each other on is fantastic! In any given class I have participated in, there can be people from 20-70 years old and we ALL get an incredible workout. All movements can be modified or scaled based on individual needs, with an emphasis on improving skills. I feel like this is an investment in my health and functional fitness, and the laughs & fun we all have is the extra bonus!

    I started crossfit at one of the hardest points in my life.. and I can happily say Five Lakes has helped me find myself and see who I am again. Five lakes gives one of the most unique experiences in a community with fitness combined. The owners, coaches, and members are some of the most kind and caring people I have ever met. Thanks to the coaches for being super knowledgeable, optimistic, and energetic. They give you the ability to learn something new in every class with enthusiasm! You will always feel very safe with their leading expertise through the workouts. They understand what is best suited for each member and their needs. This space is definitely for anyone wanting to meet great people, get a good sweat on, and have a great highlight for your day!

    I’ve been a member for almost a year now and the coaches at Five Lakes have helped me and my family become much healthier people. After I joined my wife, my two kids, and my mom have all become members and part of the “tribe”. It truly is an amazingly welcoming and supportive atmosphere that truly just wants to help you be a healthier you. I can’t say enough good things about the other athletes and the coaches that create the awesomeness that is Five Lakes Cross Fit!

    The kids and teens crossfit program at this box is amazing. My kids have gone from sedentary to active. They love getting to go work out with other kids their age. My youngest told me it's so much fun, they just play games and then proceeded to show me a plank and a handstand. She doesn't even know she's exercising and learning skills! They liked it so much that I've started going well and have made great progress. Definitely worth checking out!

    This is a great box with talented trainers and a very upbeat atmosphere. I am decidedly out of shape, but the staff here adapts to your skill and fitness level to make sure you get the most out of each session. I can see progress every week. Highly recommended.

    I'd never done CrossFit before, so I was a bit nervous to try it. I'm relatively healthy in that I can go for a jog without dying and carry moderately heavy boxes without breaking my arms, but I couldn't do a pull up if someone paid me a million dollars. That being said, I'm all for learning new ways to break a sweat, so off I went. And I'm definitely glad I did. The coaches at Five Lakes were amazing and I got a lot of personal attention. These were new movements for me, so they made sure to explain each and every exercise clearly and kindly. The exercises were also modified for my abilities but hard enough that I got a good workout. On top of that, it was super fun. I loved the team mentality and the support. I've never been cheered on so loudly for literally just holding something for a while. I deserved it though. It was hard. This place is great. If you want to try out CrossFit, are looking for a team to help you get motivated, or are already super ripped and just want to stay that way, you should go to Five Lakes.

    Visiting from out-of-town and they we so friendly and accommodating. Worked on clean and jerk and even hit a PR! Coach James was awesome and very knowledgable. Took some great pointers back to my home box in Ohio. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

    I absolutely love Orangetheory - Farmington Hills. I get more accomplished in a one hour class, than I would going solo in a gym. Full body workouts with cardio & weights and music (sometimes a live DJ is there)! The JC and the other coaches are great.... they motivate and challenge you, while helping you with proper form for the best results. And the front desk team is awesome, always friendly and encouraging. Love them!

    Did a drop-in a few years back and was openly welcomed. Checking it out as a member, shall report back in a month! Edit: This place is amazing. It has plenty of space and all the equipment with several knowledgeable coaches and 24 hour building access.

    I have been part of the Five Lakes CrossFit family since 2016. Everyone has been warm, welcoming, and encouraging, partnering with me on my fitness journey. The coaches provide options for every workout, helping me to get stronger with every movement. My kids and grandkids work out with me, giving us quality time to spend together, and memories to share.     I LOVE Five Lakes. I worked out at home for 3+ years because I disliked going to a gym THAT much, out of both anxiety and an absence of any community feeling. I've only been doing Crossfit for 2 months, and I'm already in love. Five Lakes is such a welcoming and inclusive community. All of the coaches are great. They're so knowledgable and provide great feedback so you're always safe, but they push you as well. I feel so supported by everyone at Five Lakes. Everyone is so nice and you instantly feel like part of the family (because you are). If you're scared to try Crossfit, you really, really don't have to be. There are options for every movement so you're challenged but met at the level you're at. The coaches and members will support you and help you along the way. I never, ever thought I'd be someone that says that I'm actually excited to go to the gym. Every workout is hard, but legit SO FUN. And a huge part of that is the family at Five Lakes. I cannot say enough good things about it. Liz and James have created this amazing place that lets you know you're supported and that they're happy you're there. Whether you're new or a Crossfit pro...there's no better gym than Five Lakes.

    I’ve been to a lot of gyms in my day and I also own a gym in the city so, I feel like I’ve seen the good and the bad. Five Lakes CrossFit is a high quality gym, top-tier coaching, and friendly community. Coach Ali did a great job providing specific coaching to all the athletes, staying organized and maximizing the hour long class. These three things are difficult to perform and are a mark of a good CrossFit gym. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Farmington area to check out this gym, you won’t be disappointed.

    Each trainer is excellent. I love that each workout is different— mixing it up keeps it fun. Each member can easily gauge what level of work out works best for them. The Orange Theory treadmills are specially designed with an ultra comfortable running deck. There are plenty of mirrors so that members can ensure that proper form is used during the workouts. Light, upbeat, encouraging atmosphere. For real, my Orange Theory workouts are one of the highlights of my week.

    OTF is great fitness center. It keeps me motivated since the workout is doable and you can actually see difference in your self very quickly. It doesn’t require any pre training. They use simple exercise to target the right muscle.

    I was worried when I moved away from my old box I wouldn’t find one with the right feel. This CrossFit box exceeded my expectations. Great programming, exceptional coaches, equipment is plentiful, and all of the members are really nice. If you’re in the area, check it out!

    This is not just a gym, this is a tribe, and everyone is welcomed, my whole life has changed after coming to five lakes, the coaches are amazing (they are so much more than coaches), the place is welcoming, fun, you will meet so many amazing people and get in the best shape of your life. It’s a life experience so worth taking! Once come to a class you will never want to leave!

    I have recently been to the gym for a 6 week challenge and must say, those 6 weeks were the best days i ever had. Each day after workout crossfit made me feel like a winner. James and Liz are the best trainers one could imagine. They were so helpful and encouraging. Best part is the energy in the room when everyone is pushing themselves from the moment timer turns on. I'm so looking forward to join the gym back.

    Staff was not helpful and not knowledgeable. They would not let me use my active 7 days remaining prior to the shutdown that I have email receipts to prove from management I can use when they reopen. They won’t let me talk to a manager as well about my situation. I have told all my coworkers thinking about orange theory to other gyms where the staff is more knowledgeable and treat you better.

    What I LOVE about OTF and my workout is it can be as challenging as I am willing to make it. The coaches are incredibly encouraging and knowledgeable. The workout goes by fast, easy to follow and you never get the same workout (we work various muscle groups). The energy is always so positive and never intimidating. From being warmly greeted at the front desk from always leaving feeling like you’ve accomplished something, OTF never disappoints.

    If you need some motivation, you can get it here. I know because my motivation tends to stay around for only a week or so at a time! The classes here mix it up and kept my interest. Also good early morning and lunchtime classes. I put in the work and saw great results!

    Was visiting family in the area and decided to find a box and drop in for a WOD. This was a fantastic choice for a morning workout! Coach/gym owner James was very helpful with improving my rope climbing technique and the atmosphere of the box was very welcoming. 😠 I don’t think the manager Melissa knows she was exposed on a well known podcast episode when she canceled a very well known influencers membership.
