I love their food, but the young women at the front of the shop are always rude. Every single time I’ve come here I’ve been met with attitude, eye rolling, and not a smile in sight. If you want to hate your job so bad, go work in a prison. It’s not hard to smile. It’s not hard to be polite or have common courtesy when a paying customer is asking a question. Apparently the management does not care, as you can see by the dozens and dozens of reviews regarding this issue. They forgot my salad dressing, too.

I went to this restaurant on 6/27/22 purchased a chicken salad it was horrible the salad was brown and old the chicken was cold and looked like it was eaten out of, I spoke to management and he told me to bring it back the next day so I did but I made the mistake of not checking it before I left and lord behold it was the same salad, when I called the manager she got rude and hung up. That place is run by children that run around and play on their phones and don't pay attention, this same day I took the salad back one of the child employees picked up the dressing I had brought back and put it in another customer's bag I tried stopping her but her response in a rude tone was this isn't your food. I usually go to the one in Royal Oak where the service is A1 never had an issue.

Found METAL in my food today. Lol manager was more concerned about a receipt, with a whole non chalant attitude. Showed no empathy, but it's fine though.

The food was horribly burnt! Each bite was a bite of something burnt! I called to inform them of the burnt food they delivered to my co workers and i at Children's hospital. The girl who answered the phone said her manager said it’s not on them it’s on Door dash am I’ll have to call for an refund. No apology or anything! I asked her numerous of time to place the manager on the phone and she constantly declined. I’m very disappointed for this was my first time purchasing and also our last time purchasing. That manager should be ashamed of himself! Your employees are serving your customers burnt food!

My first time at this location and my last. I should’ve went to my favorite one on Columbia like I always do but I literally live walking distance and wanted to see if they’re good and see if I can support this location but nah I’ll stick with the other one. This location is nasty, junky, got bland chicken etc. Just a bunch of young people running this location with nasty attitudes. One of the girls handed me my order (a small bag with just a C.Shawarma), I said to her this not my order, she looked at the name and said yea this you I said no, where are my fries, extra garlic, and ranch? She said ohhh I see, let me get it. That wasn’t the problem since she did correct it but the main problem is the food, it does not taste good at all. It was mad cold and bland, I picked it up on time I live 3 minutes away. I’m obsessed with Bucharest, I eat it about 2-4 times a month. This location is just a no for me.

Very good choice for dinner. Their portions are large. Food is delicious! Prices are fair. I recommend. Picture is the Chicken Shawarma salad size large around $10.

I ordered the Lamb Shawarma and it was terrible! The garlic sauce is way too strong, there is no white sauce and the lamb meat is terrible quality… mostly fatty parts, chewy… I literally threw the Shawarma away and I hate to throw food away but this was gross Hummus was ok, (1* for that)

Third time I've ordered from here, 3rd time I got the wrong order. Nice. At least they gave me a new one.

Amazing place for sandwiches and wraps. Not only are all their items delicious, the service is incredibly fast. You can walk in and walkout 5 minutes later with whatever you want. Not only are prices really cheap, you get huge portions. I seriously can't believe it. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Great shawarma, but each time I've gone here, it's apparent the employees at the counter have either no idea what's going on or don't care at all about their jobs. Every time I've ordered I've gotten a blank stare or attitude. There are other Middle Eastern restaurants in the metro Detroit area w/ much better customer service, will begin going to those places instead.

This is the third Bucharest Grill location that I have been to and the food is equally outstanding at all the locations. The food is served very quickly and the people are very friendly. The inside of the restaurants are clean and well-maintained.

I have lumps of meat on lettuce. Both of my salads were cooked incorrectly. No dressing, no napkins, no forks. I ordered for delivery. I had to throw my food away because it had things I'm allergic to in them. I'm disappointed that I wasted my money. I usually get much better service at this location but I guess they no longer care.

Good sized Lamb Shwarma sandwich, served quickly and hot but I didn't care for the flavor of the Lamb. I'll try chicken next time.

The quality and quantity is good. However, the price here have gone up 120% in less than 2 years. A beef Swarma uses to cost $4.25 and now it's $9.50. Not sure if I am a fan of Bucharest anymore...

Food wasn’t bad but nothing special. The hummus was decent but would pass on the shawarma. The chicken was kind of dry. People were pleasant and restaurant was generally clean, but the soda machine literally fell apart as I was getting ice and no one seemed at all surprised or concerned with it.

I love Shawarma's in general, but this is hands-down the best shawarma I've ever eaten. I got the Lamb shawarma with a side of hummus and Pita... The shawarma sandwich was legendary. I highly recommend

Rude. Both girls at the register. Rude and terrible attitude. No social skills and don't know how to talk to a customer. I looked at the area where they cook. Nasty floor and has a very nasty order. Made me want to puke. I would not suggest you go there. I will never go there again. I threw the plate away...

Building, itself, is whatever. But we got a ton of real good food for not much money, and the staff was excellent. If I ever make it to Detroit for a Wings game again, I'll definitely come back.

Best food I’ve gotten in Detroit in awhile this place had a good night crew. Chill interior but more of a takeout place, the quesadilla and chicken sandwiches are great. Quick service

  • 5/5 Judith J. 10 months ago on Google
So glad I ran into this place, will be back again tomorrow. It was so delicious. The chicken shawarma was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection served tons of salad, crisp veggies, and a tangy oil vinaigrette that tasted amazing . Absolutely found the garlic spread and pita the best pair to ever exist. This place was so good, will be back when visiting again.

I am generally pleased with my food. I love the hummus, and the Nikki salad is a great deal if you like cabbage and feta with chicken.

It's the chicken shwarma for me! Curly fries hot out the grease do not disappoint either! 🔥 Every time I am in Detroit, Bucharest Grill is a must stop! The chicken is so flavorful and tender, the garlic aioli pushes it over the top, wrapped with fresh veggies, pickle and then that yummy pita!!! They're scrumptious, I came all the way from Nashville for one! 😋

Love Love Love this place , it's a awesome, quick friendly place to grab the best shawarma (chicken, lamb) in the Midwest !! No exaggeration they really are that good 👍 Staff, cooks are always smiling and friendly. Good parking at downtown locations. Check them out if your in the area , you will be impressed and happy you did.

I actually really love Bucharest Grill, however that was when they originally only had one location (downtown behind the Fox), as with any chain or franchise, quality control becomes harder to maintain. With that being said, the food and menu are still great and delicious, the atmosphere of this location is less than desirable; don't even get me started on service quality, you seem to have more than enough staff, yet have difficulty with getting anything done in a reasonable enough time. Just saying that this is hurting your image that Bucharest is WELL KNOWN FOR

Chicken shwarma is always good here. Friend had quesadilla and curly fries. Best to call ahead

  • 4/5 Zach M. 1 year ago on Google
The food is soooo good. They are usually really busy from the minute they open so prepare by ordering ahead or making time to wait. The food is really good though. Chicken shawarma is my favorite. I haven't tried much else as it's my go to. You can eat in if you want but it's not really set up for that. It feels cold inside if that makes sense. But I don't really care as I never eat inside. All said, the food is excellent.

  • 4/5 Jose D. 1 year ago on Google
This is not a place where you'd want to sit down and eat. It's usually busy and the sitting areas are fairly close. This is a place that you probably want to call ahead for your order, pick up, and go. Everything I've eaten from the restaurant was really good. The place where you place your order is OK but sometimes the staff can be a little fiesty at the pick up counter. I would pick up and go for the road but it's not an ideal place to dine in.

Amazing place to go for lunch. Chicken shawarma is cooked perfectly and wrapped up tightly in foil. Curly fries are fresh and delicious. Fine in service is fast even during the lunch rush.

  • 2/5 FreeSpirit O. 1 year ago on Google
The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the young lady who took my order was awesome... my food on the other hand was terrible... it was salty, cold, fries cold, and chicken burnt. I have Bucharest location on Jefferson, Livernois, and now Milwaukee and John R and the chicken is always salty and burnt. The sodium is ridiculous. The food will give you high blood pressure. Avoid at all cost

This place is usually phenomenal. But the group that is on working tonight. If you are in a rush and want your order correct, you probably should avoid the spot this evening. Ordered online at 5:45 PM. Was told my order would take 30 minutes. Did not get my order until 6:50 PM. And then as we were driving away, we noticed there were items missing from the order. Another 10 minutes to get that corrected. Things happen but if you were in a hurry tonight don’t do it. We have missed our lunch hour and returned to duty 30 minutes late

Friendly staff, quick service considering the time of day (12:15pm), tasted great, still difficult to eat while driving. Wish I could get no tomatoes on 1 when ordering the 6 pack.

I absolutely love the food here, no other shawarma comes close to theirs. I stop and get it every time I take my dad or grandfather down to Karmanos up the street. Don't trust the take out time, the last few times I have been told 20 minutes, I showed up in 15 and still waited 20 more minutes there. $50 for a 6 pack of beef is getting up there. I'm gonna have to back it down to 2 and not have extras for the week.

I had stopped going to any of the locations because although the food was good, most were extremely salty. A few weeks ago my daughter brought home a salad and the chicken was syrup good but not as salty. So I decided to give them another try. Portions are very generous for the salad, the large one is big enough to share our I can eat off it 2-3 times. The service time was ok and I was able to place my order quickly. I only had 2 issues. 1. I had to use the restrooms and although it was extremely clean, there was a strong sewer smell coming up from the drain. 2. My pita chips were stale, like they were cooked days before. My salad was pretty good, chicken wasn't too salty and veggies were fresh.

We have tried their pita sandwiches before when they were warm from another location and they were amazing. So we thought of ordering again from the PIQUETTE location as that was closer from my work. The online order was placed at 5:45 for a 6:45 pickup, they made the sandwiches right away and out them In the refrigerator until I picked them up, so we hen we bought them home they’re etc soggy with their sauce and cold!!!! 😡not only that couple sandwiches were asked for no cucumbers, peppers and tomateis and they put those in extra quantity which clearly shows they disregarded those instructions. And my vegetarian sandwich had no fries inside them!! The sole reason why I like their vegetarian shawarma! Last but not the least I called the manager next day at that location as they closed early that Thursday and when I called it was past their operating hours so no one answered my phone. She asks me to drive 35 minutes from Northville to detroit with the food that’s a son the trash a day before with a receipt which I have, to ask her to remake those 6 sandwiches which were clearly an error on their part! I can tell if this restaurant keeps going this way, This location will end up closing one day!!! Horrible food with horrible manager.

The food is good but they need to teach there employees to quit picking up there phones an serving people an also don't talk so much cooking people food or pull your mask up my last visit was better but they need to have huddle right before there shift about the importance of coustomers come first , an keep the place clean at all times then I'll give them 4 stars.

I love this place. It varies as to what location you go to! My fav is the Livernois location. Recently, I had a bad experience with the Jefferson location -- my fault should've checked my order, I got home and discovered i had a container full of lettuce, cucumbers and onions No Chicken. I was very disappointed.

Fantastic lunch spot. Can’t wait to try it again. Highly recommend ordering ahead, we waited about 30 minutes for an order just walking in.

Killer shawarma. This place never disappoints. Got a hummus and veggies too that I snacked on later.

The food was great! It took us awhile to get our meal due to all the grubhub and doordash meals they had to make though. The falafel was amazing! The fries where only ok though. I wouldn't write home about them. They could maybe use more salt to be honest, however they do provide a lot of ketchup so that is good.
