Finally quality affordable groceries in Detroit! Open at 7AM!!! I didn't know GFS had regular groceries, but this one does. Fresh fruit and veggies that won't break the bank. A good variety too (although they don't yet carry turmeric... Hopefully soon). Their fresh squeezed orange juice is the best! They even have a bakery! Day-old baked goods get a nice markdown the next day, so that's even better!

Wow Gordon, what a beautiful sight you are! One simply can't enter the doors of this great place without picking up on the positive energy of Gordon's exceptional team players. I got a great love for avocados and you never disappoint only 69 cent each. Looking forward to seeing you again real soon.

Decent selections of food goods. And you can buy bulk salmon and other bulk meat products here. However, their prices will eat through your wallet. Because when I shop here and shop at that newer market up the street towards downtown. I come out with more money saved for comparable food products. The management extended the hours to 9pm closing time from the 8pm closing time that it used to be. Probably to compete with that new market. They won't succeed at it. But I expect this market to linger on for a while. Before this Gordon foods was built. This building used to be a Staples. I bought some PC speakers from the place years ago.

Clean, well stocked and pricing reasonable. Could not find one item and went to another store.

They have bulk flour spices cereal meats and boxes of potatoes and tomatoes frozen fish bulk items. They got bulk ice cream😍Why do I love this store?No lines it is not slammed like the other bulk food stores and they sell food storage and just food. My God a case of of food.This is a hidden gem.

Always clean, great selection, reasonable prices, & friendly staff... they always have the hot sausage I like by koegels... great job guys!!

Mya was on the register and she was nice enough to help with the items I couldn’t find. But who ever the lady name was on the sales floor had an attitude because we asked for help finding an item. She was on the phone trying to have a conversation at work and she supposed to helping customers. Even had the nerve to make a face and say it in a rude way. If your employees don’t have the proper customer service skills then maybe they should be in the back stocking or not hired at all.

I love this GFS. They are generally well stocked and have staff available to assist you.

They usually have rotisserie chicken cooked to perfection. The day I visited someone dropped the ball. Other than that good deals especially if you have large family.

I work nearby. Very convenient when I need to pick up groceries at a decent price. They also have large sizes similar to Sam's club without the membership card

I went on the 4th of July to the one on East Jefferson and it was great. They had hot food😊 I don't recall any other stores having hot food. It was really nice.

Quick and convenient I always love shopping at least once a month at this location so I can purchase chicken wing things. They're definitely Coney Island Style and my family loves to eat them

The staff here really seems to get a long. I enjoy the Motown music that plays. Helpful staff too. All the items I need are almost always in stock. Love that they turned the old Staples into this. Keep up the good work!

I was disappointed when we lost the Staples that previously occupied this location. Far more gratified by GFS, where I shop far more often - now bring back the popcorn machine! :D

Go here every once in awhile if restaurant Depot doesn't have what I need and a lot of times they have what I need staff always seems pretty friendly they're not like oh man I want to help you or run away from you like some stores they seem pretty cool and friendly there good job Gordon food service store this location

Perfect for frozen/reheatable canapes and supplies for making delicious large scale party trays and buffet style meals for church, friends, or coworkers. Jefferson Avenue location generally has what I need every time I stop in.

Good products great prices. Love the price on their bacon. The Cabo fresh brand Fiesta Guacamole is excellent especially, on a sandwich. Great location downtown Detroit convenient when I'm leaving work.

I bought a whole fried chicken yesterday for $7 bucks which is really a good deal I thought, however, the chicken was so salty I could not serve it. Seven dollars down the drain.
