Absolutely Love her food!!! And her Rendang is some of the best. Have been here several times, and have honestly never gotten a dish I didn't like. The flavors are very well developed, and you can tell how much effort was put into each dish. Owner/chef could not be more welcoming. During our dinner she came out to check on us, and then brought us a special drink she had been simmering for 3 to 4 hours. Told us it was something that her mother made for her as a child, and she wanted to share it with us. It was amazing, and unlike anything else I'd ever drank. It had Ginger and citrus and some spices, hard to even describe, but amazing! It is the picture of the cup that I posted. Photos posted are of the dinner for two meal option. Gives you an assortment of things to try. But I didn't post the shredded mango salad that came first, we ate it too fast to get a photo. Lol And then the two dessert options we chose. Last thing I will say is 'Don't let the outside of the building fool you'. It looks like a grocery store or market, but once you walk through the door, it's a full restaurant and looks nice inside. Definitely a hidden gem worth trying.

This was my boyfriend and I's first time being here. It look about an hour and a half to get our food which I thought was just ridiculous. Past reviews the owner responds that during their "rush" hour an hour wait is average. We got there around 6:00. There were less than 5 other parties in the restaurant. They may need to hire another cook because an hour and a half wait while there's less than five parties in the restaurant is excessive. We ate the garlic tofu which was delicious as well as the Rendang which was $20 for beef, a cup of rice, and four things of broccoli. While we were waiting our order was mixed up with another and given to a different table. We were assured by multiple people multiple times that their mistake would be reflected in our bill by means of a discount. When we finally got the bill it wasn't discounted so we had to wait even longer. Our discount was $10 which was basically a slap in the face after waiting two hours for overpriced average tasting food. I have read the reviews on here from the past three years and I have seen that the owner likes to cyber bully people who leave poor reviews. I am fully ready to receive a nasty comment not taking accountability. At the end of the day we had to wait over an hour for our food, when the restaurant wasn't that busy, the food wasn't that good, the staff made a mistake causing us to wait even longer, and then their way of "taking care" of us was a joke. I was also shocked when I went to the bathroom and saw a used tampon sitting on the toilet paper dispenser. We went out to celebrate our anniversary and I will never come back and I will not recommend Indo.

Food was really good. We ordered sate daging ( beef date) , Indonesian beef soup, Java chicken , Indonesian fried rice, spring rolls. Everything are delicious. Will definitely come in again for my beef rendang and fried Java chicken ! I'm orginally from Malaysia and able to taste food somewhat like malay food in Malaysia makes me happy ! I heard the chef , Melik's husband, Nik told me that his wife cook everything from scratch. So, sometimes the wait time can be longer. Hey! To eat good food, it's worth a wait !! Anyway, overall, my daughter loves the sate and beef soup while I'm enjoying their curry beef and java chicken .

First time here. I ordered the chicken curry. Upon arriving, I was surprised to be greeted by no one. It was not busy, with about 3 customers drinking at the bar. This place is a dive. The toilet door was wide open and the room at the back was full of junk and not somewhere where I would want to eat. I arrived 5 mins after my pick up time, but still had to wait another 20 minutes for the food to be packed up. I have had many types of curries including Indian Jamaican and Thai but this was a watery thin flavorless gruel, with a tiny portion of brown rice. The curry came in two large containers each half full??? The flavor was one of smokey spicy dry chicken with a few potatoes and onions mixed in. I could barely eat it as it was so nasty. I am amazed to see any good reviews. Maybe the other dishes are better, but I will never be going back. It was also way more pricey than it deserves to be. Horrible experience all around. Zero stars.

Great restaurant with great food. The chef, Melik, is awesome at what she does. If you're looking for authentic Indonesian food, or just something exotic & different than the everyday norm, check out INDO.

The worst Asian restaurant I’ve been to .There was no quality or quantity !The beef rendang tasted like simple roast beef .It seems like the meal was not prepared the way the menu described it .For twenty dollars you would expect more than a small portion of meat and only batchoy ?!?!?!The whole meal had no taste except the rice which tasted like rice .I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant .For a table of two you would not expect to pay 60 dollars for two meals that had no taste !I am very disappointed!I expected way more for that price !A coney dog taste way better and they only cost two bucks !

First the food here is great by all means. Its fresh and has lots of natural flavors. The staff is friendly and the service is quite well. My problem with this place is that it seems like maybe the owner/manager? seems more interested in drinking than working. Also the average wait time for the food is like an hour and a half. So if you do plan on going here plan on staying for at least 2hrs and have a drink or five.

I want to like this place so badly. I've tried it several times and I always feel like my expectations are not met. I like the menu, but the food is just OK...I wish it were better. Service is always slow and inattentive. This place is OK...it's a bit out of my way...so I'm always disappointed and I leave wanting a better experience.

I Have been coming to Indo since it has opened. At first was upset with the service and the time it took to eat. Over time I realized and learned the culture and why behind the restaurant. What they have influenced into Michigan is a traditional Indonesian restaurant in which the make everything from scratch preorder. Yes, it takes longer then what the average American is used to but wow is it worth every second of the wait. The pepper corn beef is my favorite. I absolutely love the food created here and also the cocktail/wine list! They offer so many different unique drinks one would not think of. The portion size is ment for left overs and if you have the time you should Dine! Definitely take the time to drop in!

The wait for the food was ridiculous. We waited over an hour and no sign of food. Our waiter never checked on us during that time. We had to flag him down just to get drinks because he didn't ask if we wanted any drinks when we ordered. All the tables who came after us already had food. We finally got fed up and flagged them down to put our order to go, because we still never received it. 1 hour and 30 minutes later we left with our bags to go. Spending $65 on food. I could have went to the grocery store, came home, and prepared a 5 course meal by the time this place gave us our food. First time and last time ever coming here.

Small hole in the wall Indonesian restaurant and bar. Delicious food, good service. We got the meal for two which comes with fruit/ vegetable salad, noodle soup (we had it with beef), appetizer plate (egg rolls, small skewered chicken strips, fritters with dipping sauces) and 3 different meats with broccoli and rice for the entree. The meal is served family style, everything is fresh and you can choose from no spice or how spicy you would like it. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Great restaurant! I knew nothing about Indonesian food. Now I know that its excellent! Don't be in a hurry bcs everything is made from scratch and takes some time, but it's worth it. Nice calm atmosphere and a very helpful staff. I'll be back.

The restaurant is really pretty inside with a nice vibe, we got carryout. I thought the food was good but overcooked and overpriced. Definitely not worth the price - $20 for soup!!?? Rip off for sure which is why I won't be going back. If I'm paying $70 for 3 people it better be gourmet and amazing and this is not

A local treasure. Super fresh Indonesian food. I love the Rendang. The beef or chicken sate. Spring rolls are kind of like a rice wrapped burrito salad... light and delicious. Not sure what to order? Go for the RIJSTAFFEL and sample a little bit of the key dishes. They say for 2, but we've been fine for up to 4 light eaters. Carry out or dine in. Hands down one of the best dining options in the area.

I went to Indo with a friend for lunch today and found the food very fresh and flavorful. The service was wonderful. I had the BALADO UDANG - JAPANESE GARLIC SHRIMP. My friend had the BIHUN - VERMICELLI NOODLES. We shared the RUJAK - MANGO PAPAYA SALAD with shrimp. The salad we shared was so good that I ordered a second one to take home. Sorry about the caps! I'm cutting and pasting from the menu. 😂 I had mango nectar to drink. They do have a fully stocked bar. If you're in the Keego Harbor area and like fresh food, check this place out.

Food was delicious, building was clean & colorful, staff was friendly and COVID compliant. We saw several items on the menu we wanted to try, and will DEFINITELY be returning to do so! Yum, yum yum!!!

  • 1/5 Annie Falgui - de L. 2 years ago on Google
The food was subpar, chicken fried rice and chicken sate was salty, and service was very slow. It took a little over an hour before the manager owner came to our table to see how we were doing. We told him we have been waiting for a little over an hour. Instead of owning up to an obvious fauxpas, he went into a rant and told us we should have ordered appetizer, that the food is made from scratch, and actually pointed out to a board in the corner stating there is appetizer listed on that board, as if we couldn't read the appetizer from the menu. The worst part of all, is that in fact we did order appetizer (salty chicken sate). The manager/owner's handling of the matter is actually what made the experience worse.

This place gets better and better every time I visit. I’m so happy that they have a vegan menu and a vegan night! That’s hard to come by living in this area. I love that their sauces are made from scratch. Atmosphere is relaxing, portions are worth it, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

Ignore the less than 5 star reviews on here. First time coming here food was beyond delicious, a tad spicy but very good. As far as people mentioning the wait, yes you might wait a little longer, even on a Sunday but once you get your meal you should realize why. This aint no fast food joint so don't expect something as creative as the dishes here to just get whipped together and out super fast. Definitely will be coming back to try other dishes!

  • 3/5 Simon A. 1 year ago on Google
Way too long of a wait to get your order for average food like that. I don't even think it's authentic Indonesian cuisine, I just had to try it. I'll stick to Indian cuisine, way better flavors. Also, this restaurant needs to be remodeled bad.

Had a fantastic time. Food was exceptional, incredibly tasty and tender. Staff was super kind and generous. Even my 85 year old grandfather who only eats meat and potatoes thoroughly enjoyed his food. If you haven't already, you need to give it a try.

Indo is one of the best restaurants around! Tuesdays are my favorite because it's vegan night. Some of my favorite dishes are the sweet and sour tofu, mango papaya salad, Indonesian fried rice, and the vegan egg rolls. Every thing is made from scratch so you might have to wait a little bit longer than you are used to at other restaurants, but it is definitely worth it! The food is amazing!!!!😍🤤

  • 5/5 Brian M. 4 years ago on Google
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. If you have never had Indonesian food before, think Thai Food, but instead of it being cooked by a cook, it is prepared by a Chef. I try a different dish every time I go and have yet to be disappointed. There is something here for everyone. If you want Meat and Potatoes, the Beef Delight is to die for. If you want Chicken, you can get it anywhere from a delicious twice fried variety, to many different types of stir fry. If you are Vegetarian or Vegan this place has you covered as well with an extensive selection of menu items. Tuesday is Vegan Day!. Everything on the menu is Vegan, but trust me you won't miss the animal products in these dishes! The spice levels are always right on. If you order mild, it will be mild. If you want med or hot you food will be just that! On a side note, you must order the Potato Fritters for an appetizer. I cannot recommend them highly enough! For the service, things take a bit longer to get to your table. But this is just a testament to how freshly everything is prepared. If you go I to your dining experience knowing it will just take longer here then you can relax and have a great meal.

Great vegan menu, also non vegan and gluten free options, huge drink menu. The food took a long time but it was really good. Just order drinks while you wait, the waitress was super nice. I would give 5 stars if not for the long wait time on food.

The only thing that disappointed me is that it's taken me so long to try Indo! The food was fresh, flavorful, and tasty. Atmosphere was fine. Service was a tad slow, especially in the beginning while waiting for drinks. I'm always happy to wait longer for freshly prepared food, but I would have liked to be greeted and had a drink in my hand a bit quicker. But this is just nitpicking; they weren't unreasonably slow. Indo also has the best Mead list I've ever seen (outside of a meadery, that is). That's a huge selling point for me! The beer list is also respectable and they have a full bar. Portion sizes are outrageously - I got a full three meals out of my dish. I look forward to going back.
