Had the blessing to be able to attend the Pontifical High Mass Celebrated by the holy Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Astana in Kazakhstan. This is the mass of all time that the enemies of Christ will never be able to destroy and for this I'm ready to die for🗡🗡

This is our home parish and we have found nothing like it in Michigan...and we've looked. If you are afraid to hear the TRUTH don't come here. The Way, the Truth, and the Life lives here. Some of the wonderful things at Grotto: 1) Beautiful Liturgies 2) Excellent Choir & Orchestra, 3) Truth taught from the pulpit 4) Oldest outdoor Shrine in Michigan dedicated to Our Lady 5) Ample guarded parking 6) Aug. 15th Feast day attended by thousands every year culminating with a beautiful outdoor Holy Mass at the Shrine 7) Every Sunday after noon Holy Mass; Eucharistic procession, Benediction & Rosary at OL Lourdes Shrine weather permitting 8) Corpus Christie processional to 4 altars ( nothing like it in metro-Detroit area ) 9) Friendly people & staff Only 4-Stars...too much emphasis placed on the Tridentine Holy Mass...No daily Novus Ordo Holy Mass...and esp. not in evening for us working folks.... you have short drive thru NE Detroit to get there...NOTE to reviewer Kevin Gordon...we're not rich and never felt anything you described in your review.

Where heaven meets earth! A most beautiful Holy Roman Catholic Church. If you are looking for a Catholic Church that doesn't have a concert band with drums and guitars blasting away during Holy Mass or a bunch of irreverent chatter-box parishioners having social hour before mass begins Assumption Grotto is a Church you will be happy you attended. The Holy reverence before, during and after mass will allow you to pray without distractions; something that is lacking in so many Catholic Churches. There is also a communion rail and kneeling for the reception of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist! I highly recommend Assumption Grotto.

We went there for a burial service, afterwards Fr. John prayed over my wife for her cancer. Also added some of his great wisdom and informative stories She left with a feeling of freshness and renewal. Look forward to going back for services.

I was able to photograph here for a wedding this Wednesday and the church was absolutely beautiful and the staff and Father were exceptional and helpful in arranging everything

Beautiful church with excellent services. The groundskeeper has a huge idea of himself and tried to prevent me from attending mass one time. God bless his poor soul.

Assumption Grotto is a beautiful church. It is also one of the few local churches to still celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass. The cemetery and grounds are well maintained and cared for by the Parish. We always enjoy coming here for Mass.

I love coming here. It is heaven on earth!!!! We need a place like this to reframe from the world we live in.

Beautiful part of Detroit's Catholic history. A must-see for people of all faiths. Must visit the Grotto in the cemetery. It is a tribute to Saint Bernadette of Lourdes.

Traditional Catholic Mass. 6:30am, 9:30am, 12:00pm Services. Cemetery features a Large Stone Replica of Lourdes. Historical and Beautiful.

Beautiful old Catholic Church in Detroit. Extremely nice and welcoming staff and locals. Gorgeous architecture, especially the windows. Bathrooms are kept nice and clean.

The inside of this church is absolutly beautiful. The altar is huge and beautiful, the stained glass windows are amazing. A huge stone communion rail with beautiful carvings. I told my wife I would go back there again just to see the inside of the church and take pictures.

This church has been around forever, helping out the community in times of needs , I remember receiving some Christmas goodfellow boxes for my children well over 30 years ago, thank you assumption Grotto church for all that you do may God continue to bless your ministry, merry Christmas everyone

Beautiful church. Very reverent traditional Latin mass.

The priest wouldn't give me the Eucharist because I wouldn't let him put his fingers in my mouth. We're still very much in Covid and that's unsanitary regardless. In the 25 years I've been receiving the sacrament I've never been to a church where that was still the norm. I'm also 99% sure I left with bed bug bites. Super weird, really gross, a lot of screaming kids. Would not recomend
