The lobby was clean. A worker was disinfecting the counter. The food was presentable. However, it was not tasty and on top of that, the dinner cost $24 a surcharge was added because I used a debit card, which I thought was illegal! I will NOT patronize this establishment again 😔

Wait was extremely long, the menu was very limited!!! No beef!!! The meats were fried chicken, shuttered, baked, pork chops fried and smothered, ham hocks, smoked neck bones, meat loaf!!! Tht banana pudding had no bananas in it??? Don't waste your time!!!

Where do I start? The vegetables were great they did not put enough ribs tips in the dinner they gave the lady smoke four small pieces the fried pork chops were so dry we had to throw them away when we got home we live too far away to take them back the rest of food was actually quite good some people were masked and some people did not I could have put up with anything else except for one of the servers one of the workers had a very nasty attitude and it's hard to hear through that glass window and she acted like she was irritated beyond irritated but when you work in a business where you have to be socially interacting with people you should leave your attitude at home or outside the door it makes people not want to come back the rest of the staff were great they were very friendly but one lady was in a bad mood and that just made me not even want to come back anymore he was very impatient and tolerant rolling her eyes it's the nasty attitude in general. I realize I had to get there earlier in order for the food to be fresh and juicy I requested other meat other than the one that was in the bottom of the pan but she said they didn't have anymore. Anyway wasn't a pleasant experience I was just so grateful for the cashier was nice to me.

I visit all kinds of restaurants, but this restaurant is unprofessionally supervised. The two old lunch line ladies slow favoring friends and certain customers giving them more food than as suppose to. Also they know holding up the line for these people. Young woman too busy trying to look cute and they barley wear hair nets. We have not got to the food NASTY terrible cooks. No tops for food not covered food looks dried out. Please don't cook no more dressing that was the worst I have ever eating. Customers breathing on you talking over your shoulders no face mask or nothing. I support my black businesses, but this was my first and last time buying food from that place. Customer service is terrible and don't cook enough food for the public probably because they taking it home. Wasted a 30.00 on a Thanksgiving dinner!

First and last time going there. Never will they rob me without a gun again. Meat loaf was hard On top and dry in the middle. Everywhere else meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy is Considered a dinner. But mashed potatoes was one of my Sides and Mac and cheese Was my other side. All was nasty Even the corn bread. Ended up giving it to my dog. Nothing really looked good over-the-counter but I was just so hungry And heard about this place so much. But now I see the people that told me about this place has no taste buds. Should have went with my first mind. And wouldn't got me a corn beef Sandwich. Originally went to Southern smokehouse Where the food is always good. This day they didn't have meatloaf and I was craving Meatloaf. If motorcycle food. on 7 mile Is that bad? I wouldn't go to neither one of them. Waste of my money. I shouldn't went and got a corn beef Sandwich. Can't believe my grandmother liked that place. God Rest her soul.

I remember a while back! Food is always excellent!! But it's salty! Some of the food. But recently I was there. Food was excellent!! Not salty at all. But for. 3 dinner's. I paid. $$92.. dollar's. I understand our economy!! But good Lord!!

I was disappointed today with my side of greens, they were dry, no liquid, the food got stuck in my throat. I can't reach Motor City restaurant on the phone for a replacement of my side, the dinner was over $19.00. I even tried to add water, the greens were still tough, yes they need more help in this food establishment.

Soul Food is Always Good Here. Pricey, but worth it. Service is Good, Elderly Workers very patient, professional and accommodating. Critique: It is beyond time to improve the parking lot and "plexiglass speakers🔊". Move to another location if the owner won't fix it, been like this waaaay too long.

I went to get my Dad Dinner for Father's day. I had never been so it was a Big treat for me I order Fried Pork chops with Lima beans and Mac n Cheese it was worth the money! My Dad Love Red Meat Loaf with Mash Potatoes and Lima beans! EVERYTHING WAS VERY TASTY!

The food really is just okay. By now I thought they would have come up with a better way of communicating with the customers. Trying to yell through the plexiglass while everyone else is yelling...frustrating. Also, clean up that lobby area, it's disgusting! We're talking about food here!

BEST FOOD AROUND!!! From the chicken to the smothered pork chops, to the greens and yams! Might make someone spend their entire check from eating here so much but it’s Worth it for the prices. Long lines, but once you take that first mouth watering bite it’ll all be worth it. WhenI was pregnant I always stopped here after work for Spaghetti, and two employees always used to hook me up. Much love to this business! This place always gives me a beautiful case of the Itis.😊 The 9 mile location needs to be seriously mentored under this 7 mile location.

The food is good but the line is always super long this day 10-16-22 they only had 3 people working I left. It doesn't make since that you have to wait 45 min

I will eat here everyday if I could they're a little bit expensive but the food is definitely worth the money. Whoever Grandma Uncle auntie's in that kitchen cooking that food needs all kisses.. the roast beef is to die for not to mention the neck bones I can't believe how good the food was there. I've been there three times this week.

The customer service was excellent and they give you LARGE portions but I'd have to say that for me some of the items I got lacked in flavor. I got the pork chop dinner with Mac &Cheese(cheesy but bland) Greens(OK but kinda bland) Yams(doctored up canned yams) pork chop( good and well seasoned) Rib Tip dinner with Mac& Cheese( cheesy but bland) Green Beans (bland) Rib tips(Good and good sauce) Last but not least I tried the sweet potato pie (I wouldn't get it again) but AGAIN the portions are large, the food was ok and the customer service was on point so. I think I would give them another shot.🤷👍

First time visiting from out of state. A bit pricey but that could be because of the pandemic. My ribs had a lot of fat on them, the bbq and meat I did have however was good, the Mac n cheese was subpar but paired with the yams/bbq, they were perfect. The yams were my favorite part of the meal. Baked beans were good. They give you a nice sized portion of food as well. The wait wasn’t awful but the menu was extremely limited compared to what is advertised. Overall I give them a 3.5 and if I lived here, I would probably visit them again but wouldn’t make it a first time/travel experience visit recommendation.

The wait/line was extremely long! The food was really good. I order smothered pork chops, cabbage, rice, cornbread, and black eye peas. The cornbread wasn't any good to me. I would have given then 5 stars, but the second pork chop was dried out like it had been sitting for awhile. The first was hot, tender, and delicious!

This food was AMAZING! I went to visit a friend for chruch and he said I know a place with great food, but don't knock it until you try "based on location". I know you bougie it's a not a dine in spot and you aren't going to want to eat in your car. "True I don't like to eat in my car and that type of meal you need to be at the table at home" but I traveled from another city so I made an exception to experience this fresh and hot 😂 and he purchased extra containers to make it a mess free experience and when I say that was the best soul food I had from a restaurant in a while I ended up coming back a few weeks later with my son and he's picky picky, but he even enjoyed it 10/10! I had Mac & cheese, yams, greens, smothered chicken and the peach cobbler.

I've been here 3 times eaten twice, the 1st time I didn't not eat, I wasn't feeling the type of food that day. 2nd time the Mac was still cold in the middle like frozen cold but I warmed it up and baby listen 🤤. Third time wings came out fresh yams weren't too sweet but the Mac didn't have that auntie with the fat elbow taste it had before. I'm chucking it up as a one off so I'll be back 😉

The food is fye🔥🔥🔥. They give large portions you can eat on for days. Every type of meat and soul food side options you can think of. Meals are expensive but worth it. I wish i lived closer, I would eat it everyday. If you go on a Sunday, go before church gets out so the wait isn't very long

The food was excellent I finally was able to go straight up an order my food usually the line is out the door and crowded, hats off to the server who made my dad's food who will be 100 years old this month and happy Birthday to the cashier who shares the same birthday numbers as my 100 year old dad🎉thank you for the wonderful service and the wonderful food, you guys need a bigger place' your food is that popular ♥️

The food was excellent!!! This was my first time eating here. I had the baked chicken, yams and Mac & cheese. It was all cooked to perfection, I will definitely be back.

THIS LOCATION IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED! They have many signs taped in their windows and door, saying that this location is closed and telling people to go to the Oak Park or Redford Twp locations. I submitted this change to Google Maps, along with the photo, but they rejected the edit because this location is still listed on the business website.

Food was good. A bit of upset behind what must have been their best seller "macaroni & cheese ( they ran out). Although prices have been increased everywhere - prices here are a bit over the top. This is why a lot of places go out of business- they raise their prices a bit too high.

Motor City Soul food is my go to place when I want soul food. The portion sizes are big and the food tasty and desserts on point. I'd recommend to anyone who is looking for good tasting soul food.

Today on Wednesday They had an abundance of meats Ox tails, Baked chicken, Cube. steak, Meat loaf etc. I got the Baked chicken , Candied yams, Green beans & Cornbread dressing. Delicious 😋

First of all the food is delicious. There's usually a long line though and the food is pretty pricey. But I do recommend the food is great! It's worth the wait.

My go to when I want some down home cooking when I'm on the go. Best meatloaf out there.....Period! Dinners are not cheap but, what you get in quality AND quantity makes it one of the best bang-for-the-dollar places you'll see in the restaurant take out business.

The food was good, decent portions. The process getting the food needs to be a little more efficient. There should be a separate area for call-in orders. A customer came in and wanted to skip the line because they called in an order, disregarding the customers who were standing in line.

Good good good. The food still taste good here. I always get fried chicken breast, fried pork chops, greens and macaroni and cheese. For first timers I recommend the Meatloaf dinner. Everything on the menu is good. The best soul food in that area for sure. Definitely try them out. I highly recommend.
