The food was honestly not good. We got 2 different appetizers and 2 different entrees between the 3 of us and the best things we had were the bread and the fries. As far as the service, I got 1 refill, the rest of my party had to ask for more water. The waitress seemed like she was having a bad day or something, she barely checked on us throughout the hour we were there. At the end of the meal, when none of us wanted boxes and had plenty of food left nobody even asked if we enjoyed the meal. Then we found out 15% gratuity was built into the bill. I can't recommend this restaurant

I've been to this location many times. The service was bad but the server was great! She was attentive to our needs; however the food took an extremely long time to arrive to our tables. The food was delicious once it made it to the table. We did have a large party. I guess the thought of ever having any type of real customer service or any kind of service we had in the past is OVER! If you want to dine out you will have to learn patience. We will be made to learn patience one way or another.

I'm posting this regarding the greeter/hostess/food quality. We were in Tuesday night. The blonde hostess had a bad attitude. Instead of greeting us, she gave us dirty looks and rolled her eyes at us. We wanted to leave but decided to stay since we were already there. Our server was great. Only positive part of our visit. The sushi was dried out like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The calamari was all fried breading. Way over-priced for poor quality food. There are so many actual good restaurants in the area. We will never go here again. P.s. look at the replies from the restaurant owner on all of the bad reviews. This is the exact horrible treatment you get in this restaurant.

We had a great time here (our 1st time at this location). Ordered an appetizer (catfish beignets) and 2 entrées (I had the Pasta Orleans, he had the St. Louis ribs). Great ambiance and our server (Morgan) and her helper made it an all-around great experience. We’ll definitely be back there soon (and we’ll bring friends next time too).

Saturday 6/25/22 Everything was great until it came down to customer service! The two of us stopped by to grab a quick bite before an event we had to get to. Although our server didn’t check on us, we were willing to look past that, until the person I was dining with noticed her sandwich was pink. The first image is hers, and the second is mine. When the server finally came around to check on us, it was time to head to our event. So when she came, we pointed out that the sandwich was pink and to which she replied to us, “That’s not pink.” Now, I understand that everyone may not have the same point of view when it comes to the color wheel, but even the texture was not close to the same as mine. The person I was dining with reiterated many times that she didn’t have a problem paying for the sandwich, but the server stormed away to get our check. When she came back, we requested the manager. The manager comes, asks what the problem is, and he’s showed the sandwich. The person I was dining with again states that she has no problem at all paying for it, to which the manager replies, “Well, tell me this, why did you wait until she brought the check to say something?” To which I relied, “We have an event to get to, and we were unable to reach the server beforehand.” The manager takes the food to the back, and then the sever comes back with the order removed from the bill. I just wish anyone would’ve stuck around longer to have a discussion like adults, because we only wanted to have the sandwich remade. That’s it. I’ve noticed that there are snarky remarks left behind to other reviewers, so I can somewhat see why we had the experience we did, especially in regards to us being within a certain demographic (a minority in St.Clair Shores). The artichoke and spinach dip was good, though.

I have been a loyal patron of this local chain since it opened in Detroit. Since moving to Grosse Pointe six years ago, I have frequented the nearby St. Clair Shores location. Unfortunately last night was our final go-round. The service was fine- not overly attentive -but acceptable, but that's where the positive ends. As I perused the menu, I noticed that the prices skyrocketed- again! It's now to the point of absurdity- alligator appetizer $16, snapper Beausoleil $39! I ordered the $33 combo mombo platter and $12 frog leg appetizer to share with my wife. The "clam" chowder was anything but. Our bowls were literally filled with giant chunks of potatoes with clams barely discernible. Then the frog legs came. While they were cooked well enough, I broke one open and the stench that wafted up nearly knocked me out. Back they went. When the seafood platter arrived, I was struck by the heaviness and dark color of the breading. Everything was overcooked and the heavy breading took on the flavor of the spent fryer oil, overpowering everything on my plate. I ate the leathery scallops and shrimp with the aid of copious amounts of cocktail sauce, but the catfish was inedible. The vegetable stir-fry and mashed potato ice cream scoop sides tasted like they were part of batches that had been in the refrigerator all week- definitely not fresh and certainly not worthy of a $33 meal! When our server brought the check, I politely asked what had happened to this restaurant. First, she said that I was not the only patron who observed and commented to her that prices have gone up, while quality and portion sizes have gone down. She said that the menu was recently "re-done" and nearly every item has increased by at least $2-$3! This is in addition to regular price increases over the years that have put Fishbones' menu prices into the realm of four-star restaurants, and far ahead of the poor quality that Fishbones now delivers. Probably the most telling aspect of this restaurant's decline is the fact that seven of us were seated without a wait on a Friday night. Evidently word has gotten out. Unfortunately however, management's only apparent solution appears to be raising prices- while allowing food to deteriorate.

Everything was ok except for the batter on the alligator bites shrimp and catfish was a bit oily causing the batter to fall off easily and was moist not crunchy. Oil temp not hot enough possibly I don't know. Can see the oil on the alligator bites if the quality of the photo uploads fully. Other than that things were nice, bill was lower than I thought it was going to be so that was great. $104 with 4 drinks, which were great hurricanes are always delicious, they make there old fashions realy strong.

First impression was a little shaky because of the wait to be seated, but things improved drastically once we were seated and our lovely server arrived. Miranda was attentive, friendly and quick with our alcoholic beverages! I love that in a server! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but we were pleased with the samplings of each dish. Overall, a good experience. Will return!

Love this place! The atmosphere is excellent and the food is just as good! We had a light dinner and ordered a couple of salads… they were delicious!!! Must check it out… especially now that the outside patio is open!

Stopped in for dinner at this location. This was our first time at this one. The food was delicious and the service excellent! My daughter had the stuffed shrimp and I just had a house salad and stuffed mushrooms.

Chad, the bartender at Fishbones, is the main reason for our frequent visits to this restaurant. He is attentive, efficient, and makes the best Cosmopolitans in the area! He literally runs to serve his customers in a timely manner. Couldn’t ask for better service, or beverages.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. Our server was Lauren! She was so nice and helpful. She attended to our every need and checked on us in a timely manner! I had the catfish dinner and a margarita it was delicious! Oh and the gator bits was the best! I will definitely be back and requesting to sit in Lauren section. She’s the best!

I had a delicious shrimp jambalaya here, and our waitress did a flaming saganaki by the table. The orange roughy fish was very good too.

This is my all time favorite place for food and especially sushi! The quality is amazing. Seafood? No problem. Steak and chops? Oh yeah! Even a cheeseburger that's dynamite as heck. Louisiana inspired dishes that only you can find here. Full bar with a great atmosphere, you can't ask for a better time with friends and family eating outstanding food. This place never disappoints in my book and I love food!

Excellent customer service and food!

It was hard to try and find a suitable spot to celebrate my birthday in this climate of the pandemic. Everything is so scary and weird that trying to feel comfortable and relax poised a serious problem... But then it was this place. I had been to the one in Downtown Detroit and loved the scenery there but there something about this place I favor more. The ambience is just better. Our waiter was amazing even though he coming off a heavy losses at the casino, he treated my company like guest and not once did I want for anything. Even going so far as bringing us a pitcher of water because how much we drink. The alligator bites were to die for as usual and though they didn't have a whole lobster available for me to the order, the steak and lobster tail I did received was amazing! Perfect medium steak that I devoured happily. I definitely plan on coming back here to try their sushi and eventually get that whole lobster. Thanks for the wonderful birthday time!

Our recent visit to Fishbone’s for a birthday dinner left us with mixed feelings. The food was undeniably good, and we enjoyed the culinary offerings. However, our experience was marred by the subpar service provided by Lauren F, our server. We were a party of considerable size, spending over $300, and it's unfortunate that the service did not meet our expectations for such a special occasion. While the food deserves praise, the disappointing service left a sour note on our celebration. The server also tried charging 2 gratuities on top of over charging for our drinks. Great place just don’t ask for Lauren.

I have been here multiple times, and have always loved this restaurant. But today was probably my best experience yet! My service from Lauren was phenomenal. From here on out, I will be back and request to be seated in her section every time. She made my experience better than it has ever been. Thank you for your awesome service.

My brother and I ate here, visiting from Houston. Food was very fresh as if they had just caught our catfish right when we ordered. We had the Lagniappe Platter and it was more than enough, great portions and great service as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves seafood.

We were with a big party. 2 waitresses started the orders together and there was a shift change . So then there was just 1 waitress. She seemed mad or something. My mood was uncomfortable because she seemed very bothered and I didn't feel welcomed. She still got a nice tip but even if it wasn't my table and something else, she should have took a break. Very pretty girl but ugly attitude. She is just 1 apple that could have spoiled the bunch. Luckily their were other wait staff that made up for her mood. Atmosphere was nice other than that. ...Teamwork makes the dream work. -Life lessons.

Went for my nephew's birthday. He got the King Crab. He does highly recommend it. It is very costly but well worth it he says.

I am taking this restaurant off my list of places to eat. The lagniappe platter was tasteless , actually sibstandard. What they served as red beans and rice seems like a can of beans was warmed and poured over rice. If this is their best effort, please remove it from the menu. I asked that the message be given to the cook. The manager did not bother to come over to the table. I have patronized the Detroit and Southfield restaurants and never been disappointed. This meal was equivalent to cafeteria food and not representative of New Orleans flavor.

Had a great dinner last night at Fishbones! I had the Chicken Florentine and my fiance got the Filet! We haven't been here since 2015, I was bummed when they took the Chicken florentine off the menu so I was excited to see it back on! The atmosphere was great and we received great service from Donald! We don't get out very much at all, so we were very thankful for a nice night out with delicious food!

Nice inside atmosphere reminds me of a speakeasy New Orleans place and outside seating is like a patio . Crab cakes were really good.

My significant other and I decided to dine in at the Saint Clair Shores establishment tonight. He ordered the ribeye and it was just mediocre. The steak was lacking that flame grilled great flavor that a steak should have. I ordered the braised short rib. What I was served tasted like nothing short of a sliced couple pieces of roast over mashed potatoes. That is not short ribs, sorry, but for the prices they charge? It was totally lacking in flavor and creativity. We will not be returning. Seriously, Where is the pride?

This place is unquestionably one of the best place to eat in the area. Whenever I come there I am exceedingly glad. They keep their high standard service and the highest level of food they give. You always win with this place. Warmly recommended.

I love fish.. especially lobster and this place has it all! Only complaint I ever have is, I want more and more! 😅 The bread wasn't very soft last time my husband and I dined there, so we soaked it in our delicious soup. Prices are slightly more, but you get what you pay for! Highly recommend!

Waitress was over the top great. Wife had fish & chips. They were perfectly cooked and delicious. I ordered the Orange Roughy. I didn't care for the sauce or the taste of the fish. It had a slightly overpowering strong taste. 4 stars because of taste and over priced.

Food was good. Not the cleanest though. Restroom was disgusting. Makes we wonder about the rest of the areas you wouldn't typically see, like the kitchen. Waitress was super nice, but had to be reminded of bringing everything that came with what you ordered. Check your bill...we were given someone else's bill. Waitress stated she was new, which we understand, but you should still make the effort to ensure things are correct.

I have had the food before and it’s great, but was not even given the opportunity at my most recent visit. I ordered sushi at 6:11pm I was told 35-40 minutes. I showed up around 6:50 so I was early expecting to wait. I was then informed sushi is at a 1 hour wait. I asked if that was from the time of my order or that exact moment. The hostess walked to the back came to check and then told me just 25 more minutes. At 7:40 I was still waiting walked back to the hostess stand and was told actually it’ll be at least another 45 minutes. I then asked for a manager to ask why I wasn’t just told it’s be 3 hours to begin with. I wasted nearly 2 hours when I could have made other arrangements. While speaking to the manager he decided to just walk away and stop talking to me.

Food was delicious! The highlight of our experience was our server Chelsea! She was attentive. She was super knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. Chelsea was so upbeat and friendly. We had a fantastic experience and it was all due to Chelsea. We will definitely return to have her as a server. Chelsea is the best. All businesses need employees that go above and beyond like Chelsea.

We came to this restaurant for lunch. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.
