My daughter was in a head on collision and needed rehab. First they kept her in isolation for covid despite testing negative twice at the other hospital. The nurse said " you tested positive here, that's why you're in quarantine." Next day nurse came in and asked if my daughter had ever been tested at that facility to which she was told " NO". They tested her and 5!!! days later came back with "your negative you don't have to be quarantined anymore?!?" My daughter is 18, never been in the hospital and she's made to stay by herself for nothing? They lost her blood, had to redo it and she's terrified of needles. Called for Tylenol for pain sever times and they forgot. I came into her room many times and she was crying in pain because they hadn't given her the painkillers. Called several times for help to the bathroom, again never showed up. Then when she tries to do it herself, they scold her for not getting help. She gets different messages from the doctors, from the nurses. It's like they don't even bother to communicate. She will never return to this facility again. She was in a head on collision at the fault of the other driver and if that experience wasn't bad enough she has to go through this. That's not healing. That's neglect.

No wonder this place has a 2.9 star review. This hospital doesn’t care about any of their patients. Me and my mom to be treated have been waiting 10+ hours and they’re excuse is appalling. You don’t have any beds? Go somewhere and get some. This is completely messed up. If you need mental health help, you’re better off waiting until something bad happens for them to do something. Things shouldn’t have to get bad for them to do something. It’s disgusting the level of care they think they give out. More like none.

Welcome to the prison compound for people guilty of the "offence" of having mental illness. Or that is what any mental health patient would believe considering they are basically on maximum security lock down and the abuse doesn't stop there. Mental health staff inflict an embarrassing social credit system on the mental patients based on levels. The four different levels represent different degrees of privilege and levels are gaining based on compliance not health. Lowest level patients are not allowed to leave the ward for any reason. While patients that have been berated into complying with a mix of writing and arbitrary rules are given permission to leave the property temporarily. Mid range levels can leave their specific ward but only for scheduled therapeutic activities which take place in the same wing of the hospital which is locked down. Patients are treated like misbehaved children regardless of their thoughts, words, deeds or temperament. Staff are arrogant and mentally verbally and physically abusive to mental patients and a distopian feeling of desperation is inflicted, enforced and perpetuated. The only way to cope in the psychiatric ward is to comply as completely as quietly and as descreetly as possible as not to even draw attention from the more abusive mental health nurses and doctors. Any resident of this long term mental health facility can immediately tell they are not respected or valued in the least. This environment is %100 toxic and abusive and actually detrimental to mental health and has noe benefit of any kind to the patient who is supposedly Sent there to get better.

Dr. Abdelrahman Elashaal. When he saw my friend for a fracture that refused to heal after several months, he didn't give her the time of day! Barely spent 2 minutes talking to her and just referred her to physio. Absolutely dreadful experience. He needs an extended vacation, I'm talking like 365 days a year kind of vacation.

Is anybody going to do something about this hospital? We are not living in the dark ages or in the Third World country right now. It’s a shame

Most parking lots are closed to visitors and patients, except for the main door lot. It is a long and painful walk when you have a disability to the east elevators since the east lot is now banned. They also charge for handicapped parking, while the other hospitals do not. I would benefit better from seeing my doctor in person, but I will start making phone appointments going forward.

I would rather die at home alone than go through the inhumane treatment given by the nurses in the emergency department. Most people I talk to about this say the same thing. Not sure why these nurses feel they need to treat people so horribly but from what I've seen, there are several who should not be around people at all let alone provide any care. I know several people who would only go to leamington because windsor has become so bad. Not everyone has that option. Something needs to be done. I totally blame our government for this.

I spent about 6 weeks here after having a stroke. I love all of the staff here from the nurses and doctors that took such great care of me (and my family) to the girls in the cafeteria... and everyone in between! I'm still going there 3 times per week on an outpatient basis. We still get a warm welcome from so many people when we're there!

First time at emergency in over a decade. It wasn't a busy night and there was a minimum 5 hour wait. 6-8 people waiting. I left after 2 hours as I was unable to sit or stand due to my injury and needed to lay down. I was about to pass out from pain. At one point I was sick to my stomach from pain. Staff suggestion put some of the gross and filthy stained chairs together and lay down. Disgusting! This was absolutely inappropriate, unsanitary and inhumane to suggest. There was a woman there with a serious looking injury rocking back and forth from pain who should have seen a doctor. She was there before I arrived and there after I left. In 2 hours not one person was taken Triage started to call names for reassessment. I am not blaming staff about the wait time but this is our medical system at it's finest -it's pathetic. You would think because there is still covid protocol they would at least clean and sanitize the chairs bit that's a big fat NO

I found the nurses very kind and helpful. For example, today I had an appointment that was supposed to be on the first floor and there was a change. While I was on my way to the room I was supposed to go to, the nurse was standing right next to me calling me to inform me of the change. It was funny how that happened; she didn't remember what I looked like and I didn't remember what she looked like. So, she took me to the correct room for the appointment. We had a good laugh how things worked out. This is how I've seen the staff there from the last time I was there; excellent service, I would say 😁

I stayed several years ago for residential treatment for gaming (Problem Gambling Services I believe). They saved my life but it wasn't perfect as they missed an opportunity to give me a proper diagnosis and lacked a psychologist to do so (the psychiatrist was only there for medications and the least helpful during my stay). All the negative reviews are for another facility it seems. If you require help for gambling or gaming addiction I can easily recommend contacting this facility and I wish you luck in your recovery.

The nurses and Drs ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I SPENT OVER 17 HOURS IN THE ER AFTER A BAD ACCIDENT. I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT A SEVERE HEADACHE, COULD NOT MOVE MY HEAD, SORE NECK, THROWING UP AND sore arm. AND THERE WAS NOT MUCH THAT THEY DID. A MONTH LATER AND STILL IN PAIN EVERY DAY. THE WAY THEY TREATED ME I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I PREFER TO DIE AT HOME THEN TO BE TREATED THE WAY THEY TREATED ME. A DOG WOULD GET BETTER TREATMENT

Need encouragement to kill yourself? Look no further, they got your back. It's not discreet or veiled encouragement, it's all straight forward.

My elderly wife began her physio therapy treatments 2 months after having a debilitating lower back operation in May this year. Following the operation, she couldn't even stand up on her own 2 feet let alone walk without serious pain. Her movements were strictly via a power chair at home. Given her age, etc - I honestly thought she would never walk again. I know she felt the same way as well. It was sad ....... Later, twice weekly treatments at the Hotel Dieu for approx 10 weeks began and over time, made a huge difference/correction. The physio folks there got her up and walking with decent balance. They focussed on her lower body strength and balance to the point where she eventually began to stand and move on her own. Most importantly - thanks to the physio Team, my wife now has her self-confidence back and the desire to carry on with the exercises the Team gave her to follow. And I see further improvements in her mobility daily. now here at home. Bottom line = she has her life back now! The power chair is now gone. We will be eternally grateful for the superior treatment the Hotel Dieu physio Team provided. A very special thanks to Rob and Kelley for their superb effort and work provided my wife from beginning to end. Rob and Kelley represented themselves and the Hotel Dieu at an extremely high level - both professionally and personally. The Hotel Dieu is fortunate to have them on board! 10 stars (if I could give that many)!!!

Bill Marra and Erica Colovic are amazing human beings. They are kind, generous, and very hard-working individuals. They have helped me in so many ways with my mental health writing. I appreciate them both and I am glad to be in connection with them.

Dont even have the common decency to call people back. "Healthcare" for Concurrent disorders is laughable. I cant even tell you how much time I wasted trying to get "help" here. Sad state this place is in.

My grandfather was placed in palliative care and was there for just over 2 weeks. The staff on all shifts were very pleasant and accommodating. Tracy, the PA was amazing and was welcoming any questions at any time. I felt that my grandfather passed peacefully and in the care of people who cared. Thank you to the staff for the professionalism and care.

Their mental health crisis department is not very good, i had the worst experience with a very rude, vulgar and unemphatic lady that provided no help for me in my situation.. I will never call or go there for mental health, other departments here are okay i will go for other departments but never mental health anymore..

I think a lot of these reviews are talking about Windsor regional hospital, Ouellette campus. It used to be called Hotel dieu but not anymore. Hotel dieu is on prince road and it is not a hospital ..no emergency department. Please know who you are writing about before you post a review.

Everyone in the gym, as they call the physio room, was A1. They were kind, understanding, knew what they were doing and the equipment in physio was very good. Most of the nurses were good, but it showed that they were overworked. The food and kitchen staff was excellent and cheerful. Improved cleanliness was needed, but I assume some of the lack was due to the pandemic overload.

Doctors here are like any other so-called conventional doctor pushing pills and practicing symptom management instead of root cause medicine. They delete reviews he does not like on his ratemd page as well. My parents and myself, as well as billions of people are victims of reductionist science that allows perpetual pill prescriptions for trillions of bucks. It was not until I visited a fabulous now retired functional medical doctor in Windsor who saw minimum my B12 is far too low. Why don't doctors know anything legitimate other than drugs and think nutrition means food and magical herbal pills? The answer is that doctors these days know nothing about cellular health whatsoever! The blood work reference ranges in Japan are far higher therefore they live much healthier longer lives. What we can conclude with this is that we are being kept sick in many different ways in North America and the biggest is the reference ranges are far too low! This is a huge topic that the doctors are very touchy about because it affects their pocketbook! Wake up and realize the system protects itself and pretends to be about healthcare. It's about maximizing profit for big pharma and doctors so they can purchase huge homes and have many children while the peons at the bottom starve and have no kids. Learn more information about this at spectracell.com and isom.ca.

HDGH is a top notch facility. My mother had wonderful care after her spinal surgery. Don't believe most of the reviews on this site as it seems most people think they are writing a review for the hospital on Oullette (which used to be called Hotel Dieu). I am hopeful that my mother can return to this facility after just having suffered a stroke last week...we would be so blessed.

Rude nurses and rude doctors. One nurse was very rude to my father and even told him that she would not draw the blood unless he stopped moving when he was not moving at all. She refused to draw the blood but then came back and injured my father while drawing the blood. I asked a worker there to file a complaint and she did not know how. Incompetent, rude and lazy staff who have no business being in healthcare. My experience at the other hospital in the city, and at other hospitals outside Windsor like Milton was way, way better and more humane.

😠 "Outstanding Care - No Exceptions" The mentally ill are the exception. It's reflected in so many other reviews. I would love to be sick and feel comfortable going to the hospital. Safe going to the hospital. But i'm not. Not in Windsor.
