šŸ˜  The worst childrens hospital in the WORLD!!!!!!! My daughter was running a fever of 103 and there is no sense of urgency, my child was not a priority. The worst childrens hospital in the WORLD!!!!!!! My daughter was running a fever of 103 and there is no sense of urgency, my child was not a priority. They didnā€™t even care that she was there or even not feeling well. They held us in an isolation room for 2 hours, no update no nothing just waiting. Children screaming, running around, no one wear masks, nothing. Overall this place is pathetic and shouldnā€™t even be open!! Hospitals should be full of care givers, not just a bunch of people collecting a check and passing time.

My daughter was sent to ER by her pediatrician to have an ultrasound done because she was suspected of a bowel obstruction. The ER doctor (Earl Hartwin ) did a covid test and a urinary tract infection test and refused to do the ultrasound I was asking for even though my daughter had excruciating abdominal pain a night before. I explained him the situation from the beginning but he said he doesn't think farther testing it's necessary. When I ask him what I will do if my daughter will be in pain again he said" I don't know". I end up paying for the ultrasound at Basha and just got a $900 bill from the ER. Please save your time and your money and go somewhere else.

ER sucks...maybe they have a different understanding for emergency. Under staffed and we had to wait ,6 hrs (4 am to 10:30 am) for a test and result to come back. We went and asked if we can leave and whether they could share the results with the pediatrician when the results become available. They said if we leave they won't give the results. Finally we decided to leave and in the next 1 hr test and results were completed at the pediatricians office. ER had high priority cases that day but then waiting for the results for more than 3hrs is ridiculous. Test was done at 6 am and no results till 10 am and when we followed up with the staff, she had no clue whether the results are ready or not or an ETA. We have been there before and it was not this bad, still the wait time was an overkill that day but compared to the latest visit that was nothing. Anyways hope they will improve in the future.

The fact that this is a place to make kids feel better & the staff they have is sickening. The lad at the front like she hated her job . No smile, just seemed distressed . The nurse was wonderful and seemed like she liked kids. Now letā€™s get to the Dr she wasnā€™t friendly at all . She rushed through everything and was very rude . Her name is Elizabeth . She was so nonchalant like she could care less that my child was sick. She seemed like she couldnā€™t wait to get out the room with us .Mind you she took forever to come in the room . No one was in the waiting room at all . No cars in the parking lot . I arrived to the hospital at 1:45 AM on 11/21/23 When I opened the door I seen 5 people standing at the desk socializing like they was at a party. I told them to please give me my child discharge papers, I would like to go . They have nothing to do in this hospital. I called the number to report this Dr but doesnā€™t open till 8 am tomorrow and that will be my first thing I do in the morning . Not saying she shouldnā€™t be a Dr But, she shouldnā€™t work with children . This is the worst hospital to take a child, no urgency or caring . You canā€™t train someone to care at all . Some people have it and the staff I received today donā€™t have it . This hospital is clean and nice . But PLEASE get better staff . This is sickening.

I took my 14 yr old in excruciating abdominal pain and feverish and a headache. It took over two hours to get into a room. Once we did it too an hr doctor came in asked him some question felt his stomach and then ordered a flu culture test. Nurse came said it takes 45 minutes for results and gave him some liquid Motrin for him headache. 2.5 hrs later after asking twice whatā€™s going on with test results. We walked out. Teen was hungry and wanted to go home. They just kept saying busy but nurse was at desk on computer. 5 hrs for a flu test and a cup of Motrin. I could of done that at urgent care. Staff was nice but very slow.

DO NOT GO HERE! I wholeheartedly agree with all the other 1 star reviews here. We went for a simple procedure for our infant for which we waited for over 2 hours and got billed over $2500 out of pocket for something that would be $150 at a urgent care. This hospital follows predatory billing practices. Please avoid. The management should be ashamed of themselves. Poor staffing (wait times exceed 2 hours even on normal weekdays) and absurdly exorbitant costs for the simplest of procedures. Again, please avoid this place! The doctors and nurses should also not associate themselves with such a terribly managed institution like this. Worst hospital visit of our lives!

I can't say how the doctors are here since we left after waiting 2 hours. My daughter was vomiting every 20 minutes and we ended up leaving. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever and the front desk lady had zero social skills, very rude and aloof while the other ladies were too busy gossiping. It felt like no one cared one way or another about their job. My poor daughter fell asleep on the way home from waiting and exhaustion. I took her somewhere else and was treated immediately.

We came into the emergency room to bring my great niece to be treated by a Pediatrician and the triage nurse Rachel just out right pulled a discriminatory act against us! She called in an Indian family which Iā€™m assuming consist of a husband, wife, a baby. Then when she called our family which consist of myself, my neice, and my great neice. As I stood up to walk in with my family she told me to please take a seat theyā€™ll be right out. So, Iā€™m thinking maybe sheā€™s not allowing me to go back because of Covid. But, then I thought, that canā€™t be true because the people before went in had three people. So, as we were still waiting on a room another family was called, which happened to be an Inter-racial family that consisted of two black men and a white baby. After seeing that I became upset, so I ask her how does she determine who get to come back and who stays out in the waiting area. She look me in my face and told a blatant lie, and says ā€œI told you to stay hold your seatsā€. I told her, ā€No you did NOT! You told me to please take a seat theyā€™ll be right out!ā€ She then says weā€™ll I apologize if you misunderstood me. I told her I would like to speak to a supervisor. She told me I am the charge nurse. And guess what? You bet your Sweet Petunia little Miss Rachel didnā€™t tell the inter-racial they couldnā€™t come back because she knew she definitely wouldā€™ve been barking up the wrong tree. Because she would have put Childrenā€™s Hospital in a huge financial hardship. But, come Monday morning Iā€™ll be calling and filing a complaint against her.

I came in on Friday April 15. The lady at the front was extremely helpful and went above and beyond!!! Absolutely amazing!! The nurse was extremely nice as well! She was very sweet to and helped explain what she is doing and why sheā€™s doing it. That helped put my daughter at ease. I didnā€™t give it 5 starts because I wasnā€™t a fan of the Dr. I Felt like she was annoyed to have to tend to us.

I brought my infant here at 1 in the morning & there wasnā€™t a wait. They needed to check her oxygen & was extremely rough with her foot. Staff wasnā€™t helpful at all & never came in the room. The tubes in my babyā€™s nose kept falling out & no staff members ever came to check on us unless we went out there to get one of them. Was told we needed to be transferred & that still hasnā€™t happened while Iā€™m typing this at 6:30 in the morning. Staff didnā€™t inform me of what could be wrong with my infant.

Went to ER at 1130 pm with my 14 year old daughter who was experiencing severe abdominal pain, vomiting and nausea. We live in macomb, so I drove past a couple of ERs to be seen here, a 30 min drive. Doctor wanted to run Covid test and if negative, get an ultrasound of abdomen to rule out appendicitis. After 2 hour wait for covid results, the doctor informed us that there was no ultrasound tech on staff OR on call. The options I was given 1. Just go home 2. Go to a different hospital, like Beaumont (doctor actually recommended a different hospital). I called my mother who was appalled. She proceeded to call charge nurse and explain why this was unacceptable. My mother asked what they would do if this happened to their child. They said they would take their child to a different hospital. As we were being discharged, I said to my daughter while nurse was present, to call Beaumont, that we were headed there, some place that could actually offer care. Nurse talked to doctor. Doctor came back in and said that their ultrasound techs would be on call starting at 5 am and that we could come back around 6 am. We came back after 6 am AND HAD TO BE REGISTERED AND SEE A NEW DOCTOR. OUR INSURANCE IS GOING TO BE BILLED FOR 2 ER VISITS. Neither doctor examed my daughter (ears, nose throat) now its a day later and daughter is complaining of chills and sore throat. It is likely i will now have to take her to an urgent care to have someone look at her throat. I will never return to this ER. I would highly recommend that you skip this hospital and go to one who can adequately provide you the care and attention your child deserves.

Detroit location is a LOT friendlier than this location, we walk in for my daughters appointment and the gentleman at the desk was VERY rude and condescending about wearing a mask. (I understand wearing one so that wasnā€™t a issue) After we get mask he was rude and pointed us the the lady next to him who was ALSO very rude and you could tell could care less about patients or her job. Both were unprofessional talking about other patients. Dr.Luat and nurses were nice and helped us with what we needed but if you want to be treated nicely save yourself the trouble and go to the Detroit location.

Will never take my children back here. The wait time was not the issue (3 hours). The doctor was uncaring and dismissive of a serious tissue my child was having. She also had the worst bedside manner which is the last thing I expected at a children's hospital. I had to convince her to give him fluids. Our nurse was kind and the best part of the visit. I was blown away by the lack of security. My husband came to relieve me and he walked right in and right into the room I told him we were in. Nobody stopped or questioned him he literally walked right in and down the hall and into our room. Will always return to Beaumont after this experience.

I wish this hospital had a pharmacy. It would make things easier for the parents and would give them a task while their child is in surgery. Help keep their mind calm instead of just waiting and worrying in the waiting room. Other than that friendly staff and were great with my baby.

Went in because my son had pink eye. I was in there for about 10 minutes and they walk in and says he has pink eye and walks away. They bill my insurance thousands of dollars and I'm stuck with a copay for $1000 and they didn't do anything for me. I tried to fight the bill, but their conclusion was that's how much it costs for someone to say he has pink away and walk away. They're out to charge whatever they want even if they don't do anything.

I should've never brought my kids here. The 2nd floor sectary staff are RUDE. They do not have a clear system on how to check in for appointments and nor are they friendly when you approach them. Disrespectful, demanding, impatient, and short with me when I tried to ask them questions about what would happen during the visit here. I got "don't you know why you're here? Are you sure you're in the right place?" Maam. I've never been to a neurologist before so I wouldn't know what procedure is for this. The doctor wasn't hearing any of my concerns about if my kids were possibly autistic or not. He was 100% sure my kids just had ADHD in just the 5 minutes of talking AT me, not to me. And if I really wanted to know if they were autistic that I would have to make ANOTHER appointment at a different hospital for an MRI because this hospital does not do them and they would not tell me what other hospital I could take my kids to that would accept my insurance. The visit was a total of 5 minutes talking to the doctor and a whole hour of waiting in a cramped room with no clear communication of what we were waiting on. Then as I was leaving with my kids I heard the secretaries rudely saying "Jesus what a circus show". My kids weren't even acting up. My second son was a bit upset (nothing crazy like throwing a tantrum or screaming) because he doesn't like strangers, and he was ready to go home. If you don't like kids, DON'T WORK AT A CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.

I did not have a good experience at this Troy location I picked this location because it was close and convenient for me I usually would go downtown. Thursday I brung my daughter in for a nose bleed . She sneezed and blood just gussied out her nose and it was coming and going. Iā€™m thinking she popped a vessel or something thatā€™s why I wanted to get her checked out. Mind you she only 6 and never has had a nose bleed before Iā€™ve had them when I was younger leading into half of my high years. When we were finally able to be seen I told the doctor what happened and the only thing she did was check my daughters heart lungs mouth and ears not once did she run a test or look in her nose she basically dismissed me and just told me put Vaseline in her nose so it wonā€™t be so dry but didnā€™t even give me a diagnosis The next day boom nose bleed so this time I took her downtown I explained everything that happened the day Prior and the doctor immediately checked everything and showed me her nose it was really irritated and she has puffy eyes the doctor said she has seasonal chronic allergies and most of that came from just looking at her and the answers I gave from the all the questions I was asked Iā€™m so grateful for the downtown location they really are great

We got turned away with my 3 years. He had a 105 fever by the time we drove to Beaumont and got help right away. Completely dumb founded by the rudeness of the woman at the desk. Rude and aggressively passive. She kept repeating the wait time while only 2 human where in the waiting area. NEVER AGAIN. And I will be post in my community page as well and going to the BBB. They have not heard the last from me.

Save yourself time and go to any other hospital. Brought my 5 year old in for couple stitches. Took well over 6 hours to get anywhere. Rude staff all around from the front desk forward. I work in healthcare and understand other patients are priority. But 6 hours for 2 stitches that could been in and out and move on? Unacceptable.

What should have been a pretty bad night for my son getting stitches wasn't. The emergency staff the two female and two male nurses did awesome with my Wyatt. From check in to discharge although busy they were fast. They gave him kindness and compassion. Went above and beyond. Just so thankful they gave my son the love and care he deserves. Won't take him anywhere else ever again.

My son was scheduled for a colonoscopy today. He has kidney disease so the doctor needed his labs and authorization from his nephrologist. I sent the info. His nephrologist sent the info. We still hadnā€™t heard from surgical on Friday and his procedure was scheduled for today (Monday). So we called Childrenā€™s and spoke with surgical to confirm the time he should be here. They told us 9:30. It was a two day prep of only liquids on day one and then the laxatives on day two. My son is 14 and had a very rough time with the prep procedure. We also are trying to figure out what is going on with him so he can hopefully re-enroll in school in January. We get here this morning and are told his procedure was canceled. No one bothered to call and tell us. No one here will take responsibility for this f-up and my son has been sitting here for an hour and a half waiting to find out if he is having the procedure or not. Iā€™m beyond angry. He cannot go for long without drinking water or at least getting IV fluids due to his kidney disease and he has been without water since last night. Iā€™m sitting here crying over this. Iā€™m switching doctors to a Beaumont physician.

This place and the staff here is absolutely awful it should be shut down it's so terrible. We had a sleep study done here a little over a year ago and they placed a crying child outside of my child's door between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 1 a.m. when I asked why the child couldn't be moved they said it was because it was an active ER but if you can't provide a quiet sleep environment or provide us with the room that is more quiet than why do you even offer the service here? When I complained about it the two nurses working got mad at me for being upset about the crying child waking up my kid during the middle of his sleep study. The one woman kept trying to get me to leave said you just want me to quit so you can just leave during the middle of the night? It was the worst experience I've ever had in a medical facility. I will never come back to this place and I also filed a complaint about it and nothing ever really came up it. I don't believe that they're actually sorry nor do I think they'll actually do enough to change people continuously complain and it just seems like it's not getting any better and they're not willing to do anything to make it a better place.. The overweight white male nurse that works in the ER is terrible. He has no business working with children. He shouldn't be working in medicine with any age patient but especially not with children. Why haven't you fired him yet? The ER staff showed no concern that a patient upstairs was being inconvenienced by where they chose to place their patient. When they call down there to ask if they could have it be a little more quiet they said well we're an active VR and showed no regard or concern for the autistic patient upstairs trying to get a sleep study done. Like I said I called and I complained and there was no compassion for the inconvenience no ability to reschedule to make sure that we got an accurate sleep study and I still ended up having to pay for it. And no I did not try to fight the bill. You would think they would have took it upon themselves to at least write it off or give me the option to reschedule due to negligence on their part but nope no concern or care for my child or their patient.

The wait is ridiculous at both locations. They're always understaffed and your child isn't a priority unless they're bleeding to death. It's best to come here in an ambulance because if you don't they're going to act like you're at a regular doctor's appointment.

Dr Lee, the ER physician rushes and misdiagnoses. This was my 2nd encounter with him. He rushes you out giving an ā€œopinionā€ versus running tests to be sure. He sent my 14month old home with a childrenā€™s Tylenol & Motrin rx, when it should have been ā€œinfantā€ saying he had a cold. 3 days later after my baby cried continuously, I decided to go back to get him checked, this time going to the pediatrician. Turned out, he had an ear infection. Ear infections hurt, and Iā€™m upset he didnā€™t check his ears.

So glad to have this great facility nearby! My kiddo had a head injury, it was late in the evening and they got us in to see a doctor super quickly. Would definitely recommend in the event of an emergency.

Took my 2 year old here after he fell and ended up with about a 1 inch laceration on his head needing stitches or glue. Arrived at the ER at 930am. We were seen promptly, glue was ordered from pharmacy and my little guy was all fixed up and walking out the door popsicle in hand by 1045. I will definitely come here again in the case of an emergency.

My 3 year old daughter hurt herself and had 2 cuts on her hand. I rushed her to Detroit childrenā€™s hospital and was told that the waiting time for the ER was 7 hours. So I then went to Troy childrenā€™s hospital and was told the waiting time was 5 hours, which was better than nothing. After less than a hour a nurse let her in. She saw her hand that was wrapped up at home and unwrapped one cut to see that she needed stitches. So she told us she couldnā€™t go any farther without a doctor checking first, which was understandable. A few minutes later the doctor enters and from afar he asks who wrapped up her hand. I told him I did and he immediately tells me to unwrap it myself. Right when I did she started bleeding a lot. I looked at the doctor expecting him to do something but all he said was I had to go back to Detroit childrenā€™s hospital. He simply says heā€™ll call the nurse to rewrap her hand again. He didnā€™t even take a minute to get a good look at her hand or even try to stop the bleeding. We waited a few minutes for the nurse, with my daughters hand still bleeding and it took so long I had to put pressure on her hand to stop it. The nurse wrapped the bandage on my daughterā€™s hand the best she could to stop the bleeding but she still needed to see a doctor soon. In the end, we were told that he was the only doctor there along with two nurses in the ER.

Were there for almost six hours to be told by an emergency doctor they wouldnā€™t even look at my kids foot for a splinter because they donā€™t have the staffing for it. Came from urgent care who looked at it but sent us there because of how small she was. Also was told the splinter can move into the foot so needs to be taken out by surgery and i can be seen in the morning and they would schedule me an appointment, but then told itll move out on its own so to wait and wasnt booked a surgery appointment and told to call to make my own surgery appointment? I left upset with a child that cant walk and confused by different information by the same doctor. I was asked before we left if i had any questions and asked if they would just look at it but was told by doctor she removed splinters all the time but wouldnā€™t look at my child. Ultrasound technician michelle was very nice. Only pleasant part of the whole thing. Go somewhere else seriously.

I wish I never brought my child here. My son is 19 months old and has had a fever for the past 3 days, vomiting and barely eating or drinking fluids. I expressed from the moment we checked in at 8:30am that my son was not acting like himself and clearly dehydrated. I had to fight them to give him fluids. Once my son was clearly distressed, screaming and hyperventilating they finally decided to give him an IV around 1:30pm. There was absolutely no sense of urgency, no sense of care for my child. We ended up leaving at 2:30pm. I will never bring my child here again. Overall it was a horrible experience. Please save yourself the trip and take your babies elsewhere!

My daughter was in the Troy ER with her 2 yr old daughter yesterday. Little one has been sick since last Tuesday and her pediatrician told her to go to a children's Hospital ER. After 4 hours they came in and told her that the baby has pneumonia and that they would be transferring her downtown for admission. She called everyone to let them know. As she was waiting for a transfer a young man came in to ask if she had her chest xray done yet! Then the same woman as earlier came back in and said sorry we had the wrong patient, that there was another patient with the same symptoms and name at the downtown ER! WTH!!! They never offered the baby any water in the 5 1/2 hours they were there, even though there was an IV placement they said was just for lab work, could have at least run some fluids to get her hydrated. Then they discharged her with no orders, no breathing treatment done, no answers. My daughter has said they seemed like a bunch of beginner with no beside manner for even an adult, let alone working with children. I am thinking that since my daughter was given someone else's name and test results that somehow there was a HIPAA violation!

We have had nothing but fantastic experiences here until this evening. The lady at the front desk was very kind, and very helpful. However, the nurse and the charge nurse (Iā€™ll leave names off) were absolutely awful, we ended up leaving and taking our son elsewhere. The nurse triaged him and asked his symptoms, that was all fine. Then she starts trying to take his blood pressure (he is 10 months old) with a non infant sized cuff (also I have never had them take his BP here) and his entire arm started to turn purple and he was screaming bloody murder and she didnā€™t even notice nor stop trying and take off the cuff. Next, she wanted a rectal tempā€¦ no problemā€¦ she got a first reading of 99.0, which was probably correct but for some reason she didnā€™t feel that it was, so she requested to do it again as my poor son is in my arms wiggling and screaming at the top of his lungs. Now all the sudden his temp comes back at 102.3 (I can promise you that he did not have a fever, any parent can tell if their child feels warm and he was not even warm in the slightest). Honestly, none of this really bothered me much, until she leaves the room and comes back with Motrin for him.. she did not ask us if we wanted him to have anything just simply said ā€œhas he had Motrin before?ā€ We said yes he has, and next thing I know she is just giving it to him without asking our permission. Now, I donā€™t mind giving my kids medication when needed but he did not have a fever. I have never had something forced upon my child without my permission and I am extremely appalled at the fact that she would just begin administering without asking first. Also, when I inquired about the strength and dosing they said ā€œthe only thing that would be different is the mL givenā€ duhā€¦ I work in medicine and am fully aware of this, hence why I wanted to know if he was given infant or children because they gave him too much regardless but over double the dose if he was given infants and the charge nurse wouldnā€™t give a straight answer as to if he was given infants or childrenā€™s. When we spoke to the charge nurse he just said ā€œok well I can talk with herā€, no apologies, no care and no regard for the wellbeing of my child who I feel was mistreated. Needless to say, we will NOT be back.

If I can give this hospital 0 stars, I would. Please do not go there if you need your child to be treated right away. Itā€™s unfortunate that our health system is so backwards, especially when they are dealing with sick children. Fortunate enough, our child was just fine. The unfortunate is that they made us wait for 3 hours and would have made us wait even longer thereafter. Our child was inconsolably crying in spurts and no one bothered to say maybe we should see this child and make it a priority. Instead, oh we are trying our best as we have many patients to see and we are busy. Why would you even be open if you do not have enough nurses/staff to help the sick. You are dealing with children here. One of the nurses comes and says, oh we are cleaning your room now and should get you in shortly. An hour later we were still waiting. We made the decision to leave and not wait any longer. Embarrassing for our health system and the people that work there. It is a complete utter disgrace.

After reading all the bad reviews I was iffy about coming to this hospital, but honestly Iā€™m glad I went with my gut and just took my son there. Everyone was super friendly and everything was done in a timely manner. And he even got to walk away with a Christmas present. Thanks for making our first experience great!

They took splendid care of me, didn't wait long at all, I was a little nervous about my heart going into anesthesia so I told the anesthesiologist and the doctor my concerns and they were were concerned too, so my appointment was delayed due to that but they went way out of their way to get me into the cardiologist that day! Literally not even an hour later i was in the cardiology room getting all checked out which i was cleared for the anesthesia. After that I only had to wait a very short time until they did my colonoscopy and endoscopy which they did an amazing job.. no pain at all during or after the procedure. Big thanks to the Troy Children's hospital very very very good hospital. They saved me so much time and went out of their way for me doing it for no reason besides kindness, just because there freakin awesome.

I was refused the right to wait with them because of the hospitals ā€œonly one person allowed per patient policyā€. They did offer to have me arrested for trespassing...

šŸ˜  Went to Samaritan Hospital as an absolute last resort after falling down a flight of stairs, hurting my back and backside. Pretty badly injured because I landed on the back of my body on hardwood stairs, and then hit every stair on the way down. I was unable to walk very easily, and given a wheelcha...

šŸ˜  This hospital is horrible. I brought my 3 1/2 month old daughter in tonight with a high fever. We waited for 20 minutes in the ER and no one even came to the reception desk to check us in! I just went to St. Joseph's instead. It's 1 degree outside, yes, THAT cold, and I had to drag my sick baby back...
