This was my first visit at Bash. It was excellent! The service, sushi, and sake were all great. The platter options are a smart way to try a bunch of different rolls. I would definitely come back. If you are worried about not being flexible enough to sit on the floor, the traditional area is actually a built-in platform and you can hang your legs under the table.

An Americanized sushi restaurant at best. Nothing close to an Izakaya. 1. No beer on tap, of all beers on menu only two are available. Can’t get a pitcher at a Izakaya is laughable. 2. The sake wine tasted watery. We didn’t even finish it. 3. The plater combo A was also a big disappointment. No sashimi in the 5 rolls at all, and worst 3 of the 5 rolls were made with fried shrimps. Too greasy. The miso soup were extremely salty unbearable to drink 4. The menu items are a joke, the main menu is basically an offering of all fried frozen JCF packaged food, nothing like that of a real Izakaya, no grill food at all. 5. Understaff and service was slow.

This is the best dining experience I have ever had in Detroit. If you did not look out the window you would have thought you were transported far away from this city. Btw if you really want the full experience, make sure you have shoes and socks on so when you go to sit at the kotatsu your bare feet aren't touching the floor. Then if you go in the afternoon time, your best bet is the bento box. The Ramen is family sized and looks amazing (it was ordered by the people at the table next to me) ... A must visit and revisit!!!

Our new go to for sushi! Such a hidden gem! My daughters and I went and we all agreed it was probably the best sushi we've had and we've had some great sushi. We got 4 rolls and they were all EXCELLENT! My oldest and I had their Little Lily sake (in a cool carafe) and we both loved that as well. I will be looking for it as the servers were kind enough to give me the brand name. Speaking of servers...they were fantastic as well! Pleasant, patient and attentive. Service was quick and the establishment is very clean and seems to be well run. We sat at the Japanese style seating which was a pleasant surprise that they had that. Please go you will not be disappointed!

A true hidden gem!! Such a unique restaurant concept! First time eating here and won’t be the last… ordered Takoyaki, Tiger Roll and the Godzilla Roll which was all very yummy. The service was great as well with the food. 10/10 !

This restaurant is really nice and clean. The tables are sanitized and cleaned after every customer. The Server was very nice and very attentive to our needs. The service was fast, food hot and very appealing to the eye. The appetizers were very good, main courses prepared very well and flavorful. My family and I were very pleased and full. When we come visit again my daughter wants to try the area when you sit on the floor without shoes, to give a different dining experience. I will definitely be recommending this establishment to any and everyone.

This is one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been too. My husband and I did the chefs choice meal and we were blown away by how amazing everything was. It was honestly some of the best food we've ever had. On our way out we made a reservation for next week 😆 it was that good!

I was invited to Bash Yesterday for the first time for my birthday celebration. I was excited to try it as it had a lot of great reviews. The place looks nice and authentic and the staff is super sweet. Our server was Raven and she was great, always smiling and made sure to bring us all that we want. The food was good.. I liked some sushi rolls over others and some I prefer to eat at other sushi places as they weren’t the best. We first got the Kimchi Potatoes as an appetizer. It was really good, I would recommend. For Rolls we had the Southwest, Ruby, Rainbow, & Sunny Night. The Ruby was my favorite since it had a hint of smokiness to it. The Rainbow was okay and southwest was okay too, ive had better somewhere else. The Sunny Night was fresh. Overall, I would recommend for the experience

Great service, great vibe, great food. For two people it was rather expensive, but very much worth the price. Everything was fresh and beautifully made. Hands down the best dragon roll we've had.

Wonderful experience! Worth the wait. The service was on point and the food did not take long. The sushi is so thick and filling. One boat fed 4 adults with left over to take home! There was a lychee sake my sister in law ordered that was the most delicious sake I had ever tasted. The quality of the food was phenomenal along with the quality of service. Thank you!

This is the very first review of a restaurant that directly involves a relative. I am very proud of my nephew, Dan, the head chef, as this is a Japanese establishment. Three years ago Dan change the menu to include fresh only supplies nothing frozen Dan created every dish that you see in my photos that were not sushi by his own Brilliant ability to work with food. This is the first time I’ve eaten food prepared by Dan and I was simply amazed. It is absolutely delicious Brandon, the general manager and Jordan our waitress were outs, standing individuals that prepares a surprise anniversary dinner for Dan‘s parents the food that we received was exactly off the menu. This is a revision of my first review of Dash. My enthusiasm, and what I heard accidentally added miss information in the first review, so I am collecting myself and I hope I do justice in a much better way than I did with my first review, which, of course was excellent. You walk into luxury when you enter this establishment. It is so customer friendly that you know you were going to enjoy your experience. The sake called Dragon. God sake was the best alcoholic drink I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious eating on the patio. It was fun. Our family was celebrating an anniversary and the boats of sushi was just delightful. This is the best sushi that I’ve ever had , it is many steps above what you would normally get through other Asian restaurants. This was great sushi. The biggest surprise is using the restroom. Each restroom is enough antic, Japanese toilet, each toilet behaves a little differently. And yes, I am correct in saying that each toilet behaves a little differently, as soon as you sit down, the toilet seat is warm. You know that you’re in going to be in for a wonderful unusual experience even in this area just follow the directions and hit the buttons and you will be cleaned and taken care of in no time OK so my grandson was scared of the toilet that’s OK. He said he’s never experienced it either Elphi, the food, the atmosphere and even the restrooms make this an absolutely wonderful establishment and I cannot wait to come back so many choices the unique one-of-a-kind creations of head chef Dan makes this truly a delightful dining experience on Trumbull just looking towards the new athletic facility that’s being built for the basketball team. It is a wonderful place to visit, and another reason why I love Detroit so much to my nephew Dan congratulations on this wonderful business to the owners and the employees you do Detroit proud. With love from your other uncle John. Can anyone tell me that if I purchase a bottle of the sake can I take it home or do I have to drink the whole bottle at the restaurant? Is it legal in Michigan with an open bottle of sake in the back of the car to drive home if you know, please let me know because if I can, I’m getting a bottle it was so good and I don’t drink Love to my nephew and to his wonderful crew

Really enjoyed this spot! The sushi is delicious! I loved the option for traditional seating. The matcha green tea was yummy (non dairy, and sweetened). And red been mochi dessert is on point.

Absolutely amazing! The food and service was exceptional. The dining area had normal seating as well as Horigotatsu style seating which gives you a hint of the traditional Japanese dining experience. The sushi was fresh and very flavorful---possibly some of the best sushi I have had. I got the Ruby, Volcano, and the Salmon on the Beach rolls.

Fantastic food and service. We tried 5 rolls: Bash Signature, French Kiss, Southwest, Ahi and the Volcano 🔥 - all were great. Hard to pick a favorite.

This is a small Japanese restaurant. However, it feels very cozy. I like the tatami structure inside. The waiters are very friendly and make me feel great. The food is fresh, and the prices are not too expensive. We also tried a bottle of sake, and it was very pleasant. Overall, it was a nice experience. And I will come back.

Amazing Japanese cuisine. Loved the ambience. Delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, & wonderful desserts. Although I felt like the service could have been better. I recommend this place to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again. MUST TRY - STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 🩷

This place was named for best sushi place in Detroit for 2021-2022 and I wasn’t surprised as it is indeed. Sushi was so fresh and the food quality was just exceptional. While I was eating here I was planning to comeback again, it was that delicious. Must Try !

Not gonna lie, this place was pretty dope! Initial impression upon walking in: vibe was nice, seating was reminiscent of Japanese dining. There was a special area were customers had to remove their shoes to dine there, which was pretty cool. We made reservations so there was no wait. Music was playing overhead, and I ain't even mad at the song choices. Good selections with some Drake sprinkled here and there. The wings and dumplings were delicious, crispy and flavorful - 10/10 recommend. We ordered the Platter C boat, which was pretty good, with the exception of the 2 rolls (intentionally located on the ends) they were just okay. Very fresh sushi, with lots of detail and a good consistency (they didn't fall apart easily). The miso soup, which came with the platter was the right temp as well. Not piping hot but steaming. A lot of places go left when they bring out soup that's warm, so extra points for that! The chopsticks were made of fiberglass, which is great for sustainability though a little slippery. Drinks were also pretty good and the bathroom was wonderful, heated seats with a bidet. Also high end hand dryers to prevent waste. All in all, this restaurant was pretty good! I'd def go back!

The vibe is relaxed, the space is clean and well decorated and includes a no shoe section with traditional low tables. Service was exceptional, really friendly and sweet waitstaff. I was pleasantly surprised as the food was better than I expected and may be the best spot for Sushi in Detroit. Overall an enjoyable experience!

I had a great time here with friends. As a group of 5, we were able to make a reservation easily by calling them in advance the same day (not that you necessarily need a reservation depending on the time you arrive). We all had different meals (from udon and katsu to sushi rolls) and a variety of drinks. It was all delicious. The takoyaki (see picture) was so good we ordered another serving. We also had fried ice cream and red bean mochi for dessert and both were amazing. Would definitely get either of those two again. Also, if you can, I would recommend carpooling as it seemed like only street parking was available.

Regular seating with an area at the front of the restaurant with in the floor seating. Waitress was extremely friendly & atentative. Black Dragon sushi roll was ordered and it took a noticeable amount of time to be made but it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!
