I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon before an appointment at the Park Shelton. The shop is surprisingly spacious and offers a wide range of affordable to pricy vintage style accessories and clothing. If I had a special event, especially one with a retro theme, I would come here first!

I always have a wonderful experience at the Peacock Room! This time I visited the store (a couple days ago on Sunday December 11) inside the Park Shelton because I needed a vintage 1920's Harlem Renaissance dress for a gala on Saturday December 17. There was a nice selection in different styles and colors that fit well within the amount that I wanted to spend. In fact, I ended up purchasing my silver glittery dress, jeweled headband with feather, and a gorgeous silver and black lacy stole all for just under $200. And Sarah (not sure if this is the correct spelling, maybe Sara) was wonderful! She was helpful, gave advice based on fit, my event, and the look I was going for, and so patient. Even as closing time arrived she wanted to make sure I had what I was looking for. The Peacock Room is a class act not just in their amazing merchandise, but in the top notch customer care! P.S. My gloves (which matched perfectly!) were either my grandmother's or my great aunt's from Crowley's department store, my earrings were my mom's, and my shoes, pearls, and bracelets were in my closet.

To be honest, I haven’t been in what is now The Peacock Room in about 55 years, but I still have fond memories of this lovely place. My mother was a model for Julie’s Dress Shop (the predecessor of The Peacock Room) in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, and I remember going there with her many times as a child. (I still have an original gift box from the store- see photo; I wish I still had some of my mom’s beautiful original clothes/hats/ accessories from there too!) In fact, my parents named me Julie, partly in honor of the store and partly in honor of Julie Andrews. My parents were big fans of Broadway musicals and we saw many shows at the glorious Fisher Theater. At any rate, I am so glad to see that you have revived the reputation and beauty of this lovely shop. It looks just like I remember it from the ‘60s. ❤️

Amazing customer service along with the cutest clothing! Used to love going in person when I worked in Detroit but now it's far more difficult to get to the city due to travel. The owner is amazing and will ship items I see posted on Social Media. Not only do you get a super quick response, you'll get expert advice in selecting the correct sizes. Highly recommend!

I simply cannot say enough good things about the Peacock Room. If I had to describe the Peacock Room in one word, it would be: hooked. Two: impeccable service. Three: Don’t pass it. Located in what was the former dining room of a historic apartment-hotel in Detroit, the Wardell Hotel, now the Park Shelton, the Peacock Room itself is beautiful. EVERY time I shop there, I am warmly welcomed, I always find something that compliments my wardrobe, and in a wide range of price point. I confidently know I can shop with my mother, grandmother, niece (who is young), and we all find something we love.

Really enjoyed this fancy, vintage clothing store located inside the Fisher Building. There are some expensive overpriced items, however, you can find cheaper, good quality items here. The jewelry and clothing items are fun to peruse through, including opera glasses that mimic the times when the Fisher Building theatre was budding with high class socialites

I was in the market for a Great Gatsby-like dress for New Year's Eve and I remembered browsing this place when I was at the Fisher Theatre before so decided to try here. What an excellent dress shop. They had all the right dresses and accessories (they also have dresses from other eras). The staff was the most helpful collection of ladies I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in a retail setting. Sarah, I believe was her name, went above and beyond helping me find the right dress with the right fit and the perfect matching headband. I cannot thank her enough. Highly recommend trying them for adorably unique vintage clothing at reasonable prices!

There is truly no other place like The Peacock Room. It truly feels like you've entered another time. The cleverly curated gifts, absolutely stunning jewelry selection, and breathtaking gowns are beyond compare. So happy this gem exists. And the Fisher location is like a palace! Retail is special again!

I have been to both locations and this is the smaller of the two. More formals and fancy dresses than the other. Same wonderful service.

Great selection! Boutique style - not just for size 6! Thank you for helping me find a fabulous! (and comfortable) party dress! When you suggested this LBD, I was skeptical. Wow! All the right curves in all the right places! Even though the store was busy with a girl-group of shoppers and a photographer, you were caring, helpful, and attentive until we found just the right dress. Peacock Room has been my go-to from my size 6 years to my size 12 years. You always help me find my “assets.”

I took my MIL in for a dress for her 50th wedding Anniversary (she had previously looked everywhere). Rachel was SO sweet and so helpful. My mother in law had multiple dresses in her hand to try on in minutes and she bought one!!! She was thrilled. The dresses here are lovely. Highly highly recommend.

I straight up loved every minute of being in The Peacock Room. I have never experienced a store completely dedicated to sparky yet grown up stuff for girly girls. Also the fact that they carry extended sizes is super cool as it's inclusive of everyone. The staff there is well trained and hard core professionals completely dedicated to the client experience. I literally just my stuff from TPR every single day and especially the sparkly readers ARE THE WHIP!!!!

This is an upscale trendy boutique located on the first floor of the Fisher building in Detroit, Michigan. They had a very nice assortment of clothes, hats, jewelry and handbags. The prices were surprisingly affordable, I was able to pick up three of these classy, cute little friendship bracelets for less than $7. I got a great souvenir of my trip and matching bracelets for my two sisters for $22. Staff were very friendly.
