Do you like ham? Do you LOVE ham? Then come to Mike's Famous Ham Place! They have around five different menu items. My ham sandwich was 3x better than expected, with tons of ham and delicious pickles on a soft poppyseed bun. My friends raved about the ham and pea soup. The lady and gentleman running the joint were so friendly and funny. They took amazing care of our eight person care.

Mike is the absolute best. I've been going here since I was child with my mom. So I was so excited to find out they were still there and better than I even remembered. Love them so.

Sometimes simple can be better. And Mike's Famous Ham House proves the point. There are only four items on the menu and all are excellent. It is the best place in the Detroit area for a ham sandwich. The ham is very juicy and flavorful, the sandwich is thick and served on a soft roll with or without a slice of cheese. The soups are made in house using meat pieces and bones from their hams. It is always a difficult decision whether tho have the bean or pea soup with the sandwich as both soups are excellent. For someone who wants the best ham sandwich in the southeastern Michigan area without or without a bowl of soup, I most highly recommend Mike’s Famous Ham Place.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and hits the spot on any day in any weather But especially when it’s cold the split pea soup it Awesome and have huge pieces of ham in it they serve bean soup too but I love the pea one ( the bean is good too) the sandwiches are Amazing and come in 2 sizes regular and large this sandwich is the regular which was more than enough!! Sandwiches can be shared (but I recommend just saved the other half you will regret sharing lol) Prices are very reasonable and worth it!!!

We just went there with two extremely loud and messy children. The owners were so nice, welcoming, and patient! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. There are only four things to order there and we ordered all 4! It was a huge amount of food, and the ham is the best ham I've ever had. The soup is hearty, flavorful, and literally overflowing from the bowls. Highly recommend.

I don’t like ham in general, but went because my husband has wanted to for months. The food was amazing. They’ve been open since the 70’s. The place was clean and the service great. Everyone was so nice and they had a lot of regulars. We have added this stop to our list of places to go to when we have visitors in town.

This cozy little diner, with a tiny little menu, was a real treat! The atmosphere seems frozen in time. We sat at the counter and were served by the owner's wife. She made us feel right at home. The owner cooked us up some ham and eggs. The ham was so tasty and tender. We tried the hearty soups, too. The bean soup was soo flavorful! It's worth the trip just to get a cup of bean soup. We saw their ham sandwich. It was huge! The soft bun looked hearty enough to hold all that ham. I want to try that next time We'll be back.

Highly recommend the Ham and cheese sandwich. They're a little mom and pop place but great people who are still dedicated to their craft and their patrons.

My dad introduced me to this place, some of the greatest ham I have ever tasted along with some scrumptious diddly-umptious bean soup. Absolutely phenomenal, I’d eat a sandwich everyday if I could

I absolutely love this place. My goal is to stop by every time I’m in Detroit. I have shared my great experiences there with everyone I know who lives or visits Detroit. There have been a few days I’ve wanted to hop on a plane just for their soup!

I have not been to this lunch counter for a long time. I was happy to see that it had not changed. They use Dearborn hams. The best choice in the area. How ever they cook the ham, their secret recipe is amazing. When you order a sandwich, they give you a same of ham. They also have bean and spit pea soup. So delicious.
