Found ‘primitive’ walking trails that go way back into the woods. Beautiful place to find peace. Great park with lots of trails. No pets allowed. Free parking. Playground with a splash park. Nature abounds. Peaceful place to walk or run. An area with kindness stones to keep or leave. Lookout areas to watch birds. Even saw a turkey! Lots of chipmunks running throughout the paths. A small pet cemetery. Many different things to see and explore. Also plenty of picnic tables. There is an archery, stables and art studio as well.

Heritage Park in Farmington is truly a little hidden gem! It has a little bit of everything, and absolutely great hiking trails everywhere. There is an amphitheater where they have free concerts every year as well 👍

This is a great little park with a few options for different pathways. Not huge or long, but lovely, tall trees with some ups and downs. Good for a quick hike or go round a few times for longer. Parking may be limited as the lot is small.

This place has everything. The splash pad, playground, nature trails, and so much more. This is great for kids and the parents can relax and enjoy without not being able to see their kids play. I recommend coming and checking it out.

We stopped here on a road trip to take a break from the car, it's a great park! Nice playground, lots of space to run around, and little nature trails our 3 year old enjoyed. Especially the one with the tunnel! Public bathrooms were also a nice surprise. They were open and clean on March 31. I was expecting them to be closed for winter but they were not! The splash pad area looks like it would be a lot of fun in the summer!

Embarked on a delightful journey at Heritage Park, Farmington Hills, with a lively meetup of 25 nature enthusiasts. The 5-mile hike offered a perfect blend of slight slopes and muddy trails, adding an adventurous touch. Nature’s wonders unveiled as we spotted graceful doves and a majestic buck along the way. The convenience of well-maintained restrooms and ample parking enhanced the overall experience. Located just 2 miles from downtown, it’s a hidden gem for those seeking a nature retreat without straying too far. The scenic beauty, combined with wildlife sightings, made every step worthwhile. Heritage Park truly delivers a refreshing escape close to urban life. #NatureEscape #HeritageParkHike

Loved the overall experience. It has good amount of trails to explore. We can spend a whole day in the park exploring all the trails. You can take the longer routes if you have the time and shorter trails if you are with kids and want them to experience the trail experiences. It is a nice place to spend the day with kids as a picnic.I happen to see multiple deer sightings right along the trail side.

Absolutely love this park! It's so well maintained. The nature trail is beautiful and educational for kids. Our daughter will play in the Waldorf inspired Habitat Headquarters for hours. It's the perfect mix of park and nature preservation!

Awesome park with lots of trail lengths to choose from. And difficulties. I took the river walk trail, and it has lots of ups and downs. Loved it! Quite challenging for a fast walk!

One of the nicer parks in the Metro-Detroit area. The trails are well marked & maintained, and they wind through forests and prairie areas along the upper branch of the Rouge River. The sledding hill is great for kids in the winter, and the splash-pad and playground areas are fun for younger kids in the summer. There are lots of picnic areas with grills available as well. And don't forget about the Nature Center! Lots to do here!

Such a beautiful park with lovely colors of fall. Restrooms were open and clean. Kids play area and playground has a lot of options so kids can enjoy it. The picnic area was good too for the families to enjoy and have food. Dogs are allowed but need to be on a leash.

Beautiful park, great walking trails. Some paved, wood chipped, and gravel. Some inclines. I've pushed my clients with their wheelchairs here. They enjoyed the scenery. Lots of birds and deer.

I understand that the management are unable to keep any lifeguard for what ever reason.... but I don’t understand why there is no changing room or a clean up place. The beach are is dirty. The water is dirty. It’s like get in the water and take the dirty stuff with you at home. You probably can stop your self not to get in the water. But not your kids. So practically you are taking a wet dirt bag in your car and to the home .

Great area for a get-together or art fair! Clean, kept up well by park staff, and it's walking distance from the paddle boat, kayak and other boat rentals. Great boat tour on the hour, where you can sit back and cruise and learn a little more about the park and see wildlife up close.

FYI The only negative: Had to walk along the beach for a bit to find a break in the large amount of slimy seaweed for the little ones to get into the water. Otherwise, the beach, parking lot etc. were clean, no glass or plastic. 😊

Absolutely love it! Today was our first time going since living here and we will be back soon. It had everything down to the volley ball nets and the snack shack which is called "Shark Shack." My son had so much fun on the playground and mostly the splash pad. Very nice park, clean and well kept.

Very good park for family outings. Park has nice short trails. You can expect surprise visits from deer and rabbits. The park has many attractions including play area for teen and adults. Ample parking spots are available for visitors. A must visit place for park lovers.

I am almost hesitant to put my true feelings in a review for this park because it's my favorite place. But the locals know what a genuine goldmine this place is. My kids love the splash pad which is free to use. I've utilized the archery range and had a wonderful time. I've attended this park for over a decade now to use the intertwining trails for both nature observation, and exercise. I truly wish that we as humans could conserve more pieces of land like this. There is so much to love here, enjoy!

Our friends from Farmington Hills graciously brought us to this enchanting park. It was a picturesque destination perfect for a leisurely nature walk. We were fortunate to witness an abundance of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, and various species of birds. The trail walk was a truly beautiful experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the serene surroundings and appreciate the wonders of nature.

Love this park for the variety of things to do, all year long. I would definitely recommend especially for the splash pad in the summer!

  • 5/5 Phillip 3 years ago on Google
I adore this park. Very expansive and it offers a bunch of different trails from the interactive nature trail for kids to serene walking trails. It’s a very scenic area and offers a number of activity areas (e.g. archery, volleyball area, playground, etc.). Note, so you’re unable to bring your furry friends, as no pets are allowed at this park.

Stopped by for a quick walk in nature. We were just passing through and had been in the car for hours. It was very nice. The fall colors and beautiful. Looks like there is a nice playground and splash pad for the kids. Didn't have to explore too much but if we're ever back in the area we'll be back.

Rivals any state park with regard to the network of trails and upkeep and wildlife. Well done city of Farmington Hills! I do think more funding should be allocated towards the Goodenough house, it needs a new roof.

This park is so nice, and I especially appreciate how quiet it is during this time of year. It's great for going on a nature walk and getting away from the craziness of life nowadays. There are also playgrounds and sledding areas. Just make sure to watch your step; some of the trails are icy and steep.

The park itself is lovely. This is my second time going, in the last few years. We thought it would be a fun outing to bring my mom along with my husband and myself and walk the trails and go into the woods on All Hallows Eve at dusk. It made for a fun Halloween! My only issue is perhaps not so much with the park, but with Google direction. We had a bit of a time finding the entrance because the signage from the street is not super obvious especially if you're rushing and I don't know what to look for. Google Maps directions took us about a half a mile down from the actual entrance to the park, probably because it's considered all apart of the same property. Thank goodness there was a gentleman in the parking lot where Google Maps had us turn in who was kind enough to let us know to get back on the road and drive back toward where we came from about a half mile, and that's how we found it. Hopefully we will be back!

Maple Beach is a great getaway and small beach atmosphere for the whole family. Its small enough to not be overwhelming, but big enough to not be overcrowded usually. It seems that it is gaining in popularity however. So it may be getting overcrowded soon. The only major downside to the beach is the fact that there is goose poop EVERYWHERE. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Nice trails The one by Spicer House is short. If you wanted to do it quickly You will get to see the old building. Also a restroom in the building. The other trails are nice also. There was a portable potty. by the one, I went in. I did get lost and ended up on the other side But not too far from my truck. Definitely worth going. I have stayed the longest at this trail there is alot to see.
