Lovely arboretum by campus for students! Great on a fall day but slippery in the winter. Such nice views and diverse walking areas. Flat areas, stair portions, and just cool walking paths in general. You can see an overview of trees from a distance, the river, or just big open spaces. Good for family and friend picnics too. Lovely, would recommend.

Love the arb! Such great hiking paths, beautiful grassy patches to picnic or play sports. The peony garden is absolutely stunning and beautiful, an Ann Arbor must see!

Fabulous walking paths, with lots of variety through woods and prairie. Beautifully situated along the river. A pleasant find. Parking is very limited.

Great place for families! Peak bloom runs from Memorial Day (late May) to mid-June. We came last year when it was almost August and all we got was mosquitoes, no flowers. This year we came on June 10th (a Saturday), spent half a day in Ann Arbor, and parked at a close-by garage (P4). Parking was free.

This place is an incredible retreat from city life. I am amazed at how well-maintained the property is. You can literally get lost in the trails. I truly enjoyed my time here. Oh yeah, and it's dog-friendly! Please make sure you leave it the way you found it. It can get a little buggy towards sunset, but overall remarkable experience--highly recommend!

This is a beautiful park with a lot of different trails. The peonies in spring are a sight to see. Love the grassland area, gives a Savanah kike feeling. There are restrooms and benches near the river bank.

A very nice park with ample trails for running & nature walks. There are also fields that are great for picnicking or playing catch with friends. The arboretum truly transports you to the wilderness and helps you to escape from the city! The grounds are really well maintained and it is beautiful any season. My favorite part of the arboretum is the wild black raspberries that grow alongside some of the trails in summer. They are delicious and a great snack while enjoying the nature of the park!

If you haven't been here...go! You won't regret it if you love mother nature and clean, pristine trails and fresh air. So many options in trails and paths and none of them would be a bad choice. Can't wait to come back!

One of my absolute favorite places to walk and visit. I call it heaven on Earth. Every season is beautiful here. We’ve loved Shakespeare in the Arb over the years, the magnificent peony garden in June, and so many other activities over the years. The Heathdale is my personal favorite spot. It’s incredible to have woods, prairies, trails, the river amid the hustle and bustle of campus to feed the soul.

Beautiful park and great place for hiking and exploring nature. Lots of trails for hiking and running, also good place for fishing as well. If you haven’t been there then you should go check it out.

The Peony Garden at Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor is absolutely beautiful. The blooming season in around the end of May to the middle of June. It is open dawn to dusk and is free, or a donation is appreciated. The only downside is the parking is sparse. When I can't find a spot, I have parked in one of the UofM Medical Center's parking garages and walked the 2 blocks to the garden. There is a scenic split rail fence along one side and rustic benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, as well as rocks used in the landscaping.

This is a review of the huron River right near the arboretum. There is a fantastic island with picnic bench, maintained by the Ent that places the rocks in formations to alter water flow. But it's my island now so stay away so I can be there in peace, lol

Beautiful little oasis in Ann Arbor! This is the perfect nature getaway without having to actually get away! Great for Ann Arbor residents, University of Michigan students, or visitors to town. We had a very pleasant walk through the gardens and loved our visit!

Amazing experience visiting the blooming peonies yesterday! Lots of different varieties are planted. They all smell amazing. Free event. Parking nearby at the structure, free. Highly recommend

A huge place to walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature while just being a rocks throw away from downtown Ann Arbor. Plenty of birds, squirrels, bees and bugs around to admire as you walk through, over and around the landscape. Watch the sunset or gain some knowledge at this incredible park.

The peonies in June are spectacular. However, parking at the Washington Hts entrance is metered and extremely limited (10 spaces, MAYBE). I have no problem with porta-potties. But of the two at that entrance one had poop all over the seat, really! And the other had no paper. One would hope that when the Arb posts that the peonies are in bloom, and knows to expect crowds, that they'd police the facilities in a responsible way. It was NOT a good introduction for this first-time visitor.

Very beautiful peonies flowers. Very small snacks at the visitor center. On the street parking was good, all the limited. Get a day tag from the visitor center.

Beautiful place to stroll around in summer especially. Peony flower garden is the biggest attraction of the place. Do visit once for sure.

We went to the 100th anniversary Peony festival June 3rd and 4th. It was in full bloom! It was an absolutely beautiful display of hundreds of varieties of peonies! If you love peonies, this is a must see!

Hard to find parking on the south end. But absolutely gorgeous even on a rainy day!! Breathtaking when the peonies are in bloom. So happy to see this!
