Get the bald eagle sandwich! It’s the best! I also tried the pasta salad and single serve pies today. So good! Would recommend! All the employees are super nice and helpful too!

The best multiple layered Subs of your choice in the area and they're special dressing. Does take bridge cards or EBT, even on the subs package specially to qualify. Olive bar and other salads available. Specialty Italian products in the store and breads

Gonellas is always great. Today we picked up three trays of their amazing submarine sandwiches, all fresh and delicious. We also bought a few pounds of their pasta salad and marinated vegetable salad and olives from the olive bar. We never miss an opportunity to go to Gonellas and it is our go to when we need a carry out for a crowd.

Wow great service, I got 4 very good subs 4 very big subs. Did I tell you how very good these subs were? Fresh buns soft inside and just right outside not too chewy. So much better than the chain sub restaurants. You must try this place.

Still a neat place with good service. The subs however are not the same I remember. To me it was just a basic cold cut sandwich. It didn't have the same flavor at all that I remember in years past or compared to another actual Gonellas. The new owners have definitely changed things on the subs and not for the better.

I have to stop in every time I’m in the area, I was a little kid when my dad would park his semi on the side of the road and take me inside to get a sub and an orange crush and hot sausage links. It is now my favorite place to park the rig and get a good sandwich.

I have been coming here for 25 Years, they changed the hard rolls. I am sure it’s a supply issue but please find a suitable replacement. The update to the interior is a breath of fresh air.

For over 75 years Gonella’s has been home to of one of the best sub sandwiches in metro Detroit. The sizes and meat selection is vast, great taste and great bargain. You really haven't had a true Italian sub until you try Gonellas.

Fantastic subs! Been going here for decades, my wife turned me on to Genellas and she has been going there for over 50 years since she was a little girl a TRUE DETROIT STAPLE!!!!!! THANK YOU GONELLAS, YOUR THE BEST. Had FAMILY come in from out of state and they had to have the best so we took them to Gonellas!!!!!

If you don’t know now you do….. it’s hands down the best place for a huge sub that accepts EBT….. I recommend you get a 12 layer Italian with mayo n mustard with whatever cheese you like the sun is great cold but even better warmed up trust me try it

Excellent sandwich closest to a real east coast Italian sub you’re likely to get on the city of Detroit. The service is prompt, a bit abrupt, but that lends to its charm. Can I give more than 5 stars please?

Growing up my mom used to always bring home Gonellas home they were like a special treat when I was a kid , they are not quite the same today but still a great deal on a good sandwich that's packed with layers of meat and cheese I prefer it in the hard roll but soft roll is okay to the 8 layer is $8.50 and worth every penny of that

Absolutely love this place. Not only is the subs good but they have a nice deli with antipasto and marinated mushrooms that is freakin delish!!!! Can't wait to go back!!!!

Thee BEST sub around, HANDS DOWN! If you've never tried Gonella's you should DEFINITELY stop in and get one, as well as a side of there marinated mushrooms, OOOO WEEEE! 11/10, AMAZING!

Deli with great sub sandwiches. Their 8-meat and 2-cheese layer sub is real good. There's usually a wait in line at lunch time

Best subs in Detroit hands down!!! It's the kind of place that when you walk in the door... everything smells fantastic!! Love this place and recommend it anyone in the SW Detroit area 👍👍 Try their Pico de Gallo! Sometimes I just go in for that and a plain bag of tortilla chips and make a lunch out of that. It will make your nipples hard 😉

My first visit on my way home. Will not be the last. My Italian sandwich was made exactly as requested. Pricing on items were fair. Young lady who prepared my sandwich asked questions as to exactly my taste. Loved Gonellas. Looking forward to returning on my next visit to Detroit.
