Holy Moly! What a gem! I've never seen such a cool nature center! A little library, awesome rocks and taxidermy, live animals, fossil dig area and a little sitting/art area for the kiddos. The bathrooms are super clean and spacious (which is like 5+ stars to me!) I can't wait to get back!

It is one of the most nature centers. They offer different programs for all ages. They have educational toys, real-life animals, and a Dino digging site. The hicking path is beautiful. And their owl conservation programs is impressive.

First time here, and we LOVED IT! There is so much to do, you could easily spend the day here. There are giant climbing rocks right outside the entrance to the building (I didn't get a pic but the kids climbed for 30 min! My 10 year old wished she had worn tennis shoes, not flip flops). Then we entered the building. There is a toy corner for younger kids, a digging pit (plastic fossils covered with rubber mulch and plenty of shovels to share). There are many "stuffed" animals on display, along with some creatures in cages (rats, turtle, few others). There is a little library (the kids spent tons of time in here to my surprise). There is a bee hive (they are currently awaiting a new queen, the old one died). There is a room for crafts and parties. The staff came out and made sure to introduce us to all things nature center as soon as we told her it was our first time. Then, exit the building to the right and there is an owl enclosure! 5 owls live here, and each has a story about why they are in captivity (good for my huge hearted girls). Last but not least, there are awesome trails- some short for tots, some longer for those with bigs. They hold paid programming with crafts and snacks. We will be here many times to come!

I live next to Stage and walk over there at least once a week with my 3 young children. Overall it's a very nice nature center and it's worth repeat visits especially during different seasons! It's fun seeing how the plants/trees change from season to season along with the animals. The Nature Center building itself is on the smaller side but packed with interesting and fun things for the kids! The live reptile tanks are fun to look at and the kids love the hands-on area including the dress-up costumes! Don't forget to head down the hall and check out the indoor beehive with live bees. We've spent a lot of time trying to find the queen (we'll keep trying). The trails are a lot of fun to stroll along (wear boots if it's been wet recently, it gets a bit muddy in areas). There's a ton of wildlife including deer and turkeys and they're definitely not shy. Go early in the morning or before they close at dusk and you're likely to see plenty! They're currently working to replace some of the wood boardwalks and re-mulching the trails to make for easier walking. Bonus: Stage has several geocaches hidden around the area. Download the official "Geocaching" app ahead of time and bring a pen! A little added fun for the kids.

Great place for a calming nature walk in a busy suburban area. Nice exhibit room, especially for children. Helpful staff. There is a native garden out front by the parking lot and 5 rescue/rehabilitated owls in an enclosure just behind the main building. Walking trails totaling about 2 miles are available during daylight hours even when the building is closed

This park has been my favorite place to go for a walk since I moved to the area! There are a lot of nice trails, animals, views, benches, and even a river.

We live a mile from this place and love going here each time... The nature center is very educational and has wonderful exhibits... It also has a small library and a quiet area to read the books... The trails around the nature center are easy with beautiful surroundings... The new area with owls is fun for the kids and towards dusk the owls hoot which the kids love... The nature center has a lot of programs for adults and kids and overall is a fun place for everyone in the family

Such a hidden gem. It’s really beautiful here. You feel like you are walking the trail in some national park.

Excellent nature center, trails are great and well maintained. Indoor exhibits are very well done, particularly the stand alone frog tank (look at the plants!) Update: Don't miss the owl house, very cool to see them that close and great information on each Another update: The new crayfish tank and the garter snake habitats are extremely well done!

This’s probably the best nature center I have been to. The volunteers welcome you as you enter the building and make sure to answer any questions you have. They have suggestion box. The toys are nice for kids to use and the amphibians, snakes, bees and owls are well cared for by the staff. Trails are charming and you’ll see abundance of mature trees and wildlife. I’ll always come here to relax and walk.

We went for the maple Syrup your. Our guide was a former science teacher. She was very informative and great with engaging kids of all ages in the hands on learning. Looks like a great facility to visit and spend a couple hours whether special program is offered or not. We will be back.

The whole family loves stage nature center and we visit many times throughout the year. You can always see many different types of wildlife, many types of plants animals and trees. The owls are always worth a visit. This is Troy's hidden treasure.

Let me just say first off I’m from Ohio so I know nothing of the Michigan area however, when looking to find stuff to do in the Rochester Hills/Rochester/Troy area so I had no idea what I was walking into but, I’ll tell you I walked into the most beautiful trail I’ve seen in a long time. The employee was so sweet she gave me all the advice on current programs for children and for volunteering. The animals seem so happy including the owls they have (which are too injured to be in the wild) and they really seem to care about this place. My toddler had a blast lol and I couldn’t get her to leave! The play area is so cool and the toys are so addicting for a toddler. Thank you guys so much for letting me experience this, if I lived here in the Rochester area I’d be volunteering and here all the time! I loved it and also was really easy to navigate through and push a stroller through!

Little slice of heaven right here. Saw a family of deer, just lazing around letting me take their pictures and then some peehens prancing around on the way out. And I barely made it inside the entrance; before I decided it was too cold for me. I will be returning to this charming little gem though.

Love walking here in the mornings, nice slice of nature easily accessible. So much to see and very relaxing. Trails aren't too challenging, one largish hill that is a little steep but not too bad.

Nice little nature center in Troy with friendly staff and well maintained trails. There are some turtles and frogs indoors, and indoor space for events and kids activities. There are also some cute owls to see at the back of the building.

Stage Nature Center offers a nice hike through some well-marked trails in a slightly cramped locale. If you have younger kids, this place is perfect! The entire trail system is easily walked by anyone above the age of four. Younger kids might need to be carried or pushed in a stroller. Wood chip trails make the stroller a breeze to lead around. There is a herd of deer in the park which is fenced in. You would be hard pressed not to see a dozen or more just hanging out. We encountered a boil of garter snakes one Spring day. Really a remarkable sight! Turtles, salamanders, turkeys… Plenty to see that will entertain young and old.
