Beautiful Tea Factory Ever - Carrying forward a lineage that dates back over 136 years to the British Colonial Raj era, the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company Private Limited (KDHP) succeeded Tata Tea Limited on 1st April, 2005, when the latter exited most of its plantations in Munnar to focus on the growth of its branded tea business. During the year 2004-2005, owing to the general crisis prevalent in the tea industry at the time, Tata Tea Ltd restructured and came up with a proposal to transfer its holdings in the Kanan Devan Hills Village. This was done as part of a restructuring exercise evolved through a detailed study, particularly taking note of the prevalent crisis in the tea industry. Tea has played an integral part in the history of Munnar. The plantations played a huge role in attracting people to the area. Tata Tea established a Tea Museum in 2005 which has photographs and machineries, which chronicle the journey of tea in the area. The museum set up at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea ensures that the legacy of those who worked hard to ensure the tea plantations survived this long is recognised publicly. © Rijas Galleria #rijasgalleria

Thus, the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company was formed, making it the largest employee-owned tea company in the world. Encompassing the Participatory Management System of operations, where the shareholders of the company are mainly its employees – a novel concept in the plantation industry credited to the farsighted vision of the company’s Founding Managing Director, Late. My visit to the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company (P) Limited Sales Outlet was truly delightful. The highlight of the experience was the picturesque viewpoint that offered breathtaking vistas of the tea plantations. What sets this outlet apart is the diverse range of tea tasting options they provide. From classic blends to unique and exotic flavors, there was something for every tea enthusiast. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the rich flavors of tea from this renowned company. The convenience of ample parking and well-maintained restrooms added to the overall positive experience. Moreover, being able to witness the tea factory and learn about the tea-making process was educational and fascinating. If you're a tea lover, the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company Sales Outlet is a must-visit destination. It combines stunning scenery, tea tasting adventures, and a glimpse into the tea production process, making it an excellent choice for both tourists and tea aficionados.

Nice Tea Factory. Visit Charge 100rs per Person it will take only One Hours. They show Video and Discribe everything by one person of the factory you can ask also about tea anything. They are not allowed to see tea machine from very near one of glass corridor there you can walk and see all tea machine from the glass corridor. Semple also available you can feel and touch of that. Outside tea ☕ shop also pay and enjoy many categories of tea available. I do not like more but. Do not west your time here if you have not more time enjoy other places.

The outlet will usually be busy. You get all kinds of tea powders including the flavored ones. They also own an essential oil bay in the shop. These oils are extracted through cold processing. Bought one Grape seed essential oil from there. Looks like a premium quality one. May be others too can just confirm if they found the essential oils to be of high quality. Shop is well maintained, they accept card payments as well, which is a rare sight in Munnar.

Cool climate. Be aware of leeches. For leeches bring salt, Dettol, or hand sanitizer. Tata tea estates is 100km in length. 17000 employees. Can’t enter tea estates, since it’s private property.

For Factory visit they do inform before that you will be shown the process from a gallery bridge and not taken to actual machine floors, but poorly maintained glasses with low visibility, introduction video room don't have chairs to sit rather stand for 15-20mins and watch, no tea tasting. Factory visit not worth as it's old processing methods. Company outlet of ripple tea is well maintained with all variety of teas. Tea at the canteen counter is not worthy rather out side ginger, cardamom tea is well flavoured. It's just flavoured machine tea rather than authentically prepared by hand. Use toilets at your own risk, public municipality toilets are 200% better mainted than these. Overall it's worthy to skip it.

👍 To be honest , this tea shop is one of the few which gives the best tea at ₹10. A lots of varieties of tea leaves are sold here at offer. There is also a public restroom here. The parking space is huge and is for free for four hours which is more than enough.
