Amazing food, interesting sitting arrangement and breathtaking interior: what a restaurant this one! And these are still not their main attraction. They are a fully vegetarian/vegan restaurant- a rarity in Dhaka. I am no vegetarian but I often have to attend to official delegations which include vegetarians. Arranging food for them is quite challenging, particularly when they stay for extended times: we have to repeat same menu again and again. This place is a Godsend! I took my guests and told them to eat anything they wish for from the menu. Without any fear/apprehension! They loved it so much! Food was awesome, even to my meat loving tongue. I liked how they use mushrooms as a very apt substitute for meat. Starters, main course, desserts and drinks- all were of excellent taste. I loved their sitting arrangement: with friends you can sit there hours on.

The place is great for hanging out with friends (not a family place). In the rooftop, It's great if you are a smoker but for non smokers it's great in the room. It's Quite and comfortable. Varieties of sitting arrangements are available. Foods are not that great, It's only good for hanging out or spend some time. Parking facilities are available.

Cute and different. There's a dance class venue on the third floor. The food are veg but quote exclusive and innovative. Sitting arrangement is cozy and amazing. The rooftop has some space where we went and danced on Eid day. The stuffs are superb. Overall a 5-star experience.

This was such a beautiful place to visit. The decor was very ethnic and unique. I’ve been a customer of Jatra since it’s inception so their aesthetics carry over to this venture as well. Everything seems ethically maintained. This is a pet friendly place so you can also bring in your pets at your own responsibility. The overall vibe of this place is very artistic and relaxing. We had the Fuchka and a Ice watermelon and a coconut chiller drink. All of them were very good. The prices are a bit high but it is worth it in my opinion for the quality time you can spend here.

I feel bad to cut 2 stars for this awesome place but it is their own fault. When you have such an excellent open rooftop space and you are maintaining the traditional Bengali theme, at least should have thought about giving people a fresh unpolluted environment. It was really heartbreaking to see almost everyone even the very young people be it girl or guy smoking non-stop in there and creating havoc for passive smokers like me and i am writing it while suffering the consequence as of swollen Tonsil from being there for half an hour and i see people reviewing this place as Eco friendly. Maybe their definition of Eco friendly is just planting lots of plants, use of earthen utensils and glass jars, sitting on the floor. Air pollution doesn't count. So if someone who doesn't smoke wants to visit, should go in weekdays and in odd hours so that your lung is saved from our beautiful smokers. And the place is a bit pricey for any regular person so better visit with friends or family to split the bill. I wish to go back there to enjoy some smoke free time, play ludo, carrom board and eat some nice food. The seating arrangement is very nice and comfortable. Staffs are friendly. I hope they take the initiative to make the place smoke free or keep a separate smoking zone so that others can enjoy the full rooftop experience without hassle. If you are a cat lover you will find two cuties roaming there, eager to be pet and take photo with you 🤭

Tried to establish a good cause and that cause could be established by any other means but not by compromising food hygiene. I witnessed some domesticated animals were randomly roaming around and that’s a biggest concern about food hygiene. Saw the kitchen staff and they have zero protection for hygiene. Maybe you can go there to hide yourself in some dirty and filthy shade but not for food. Eventually a kitty came to eat my food, check the video and photos. Also, staffs are awfully rude and don’t know how to greet. I am so surprised seeing, how the hell on earth they are calling themselves a restaurant. So disgusted I was and would not recommend.

Lovely ambience. The rooftop is so cozy here. They have unique menu including pittha, vegetables, mushrooms etc. But you will find no meat here. Smoking friendly place.

This place is a saviour for me when I am in Bangladesh. This place is all about serenity. They serve good food, beverages. I love their luchi platter and fuchka platter the most. The staffs are well behaved. The best thing about this place is their calmness.

Such a beautiful place to visit. But remember, it's a vegan restaurant. Food price is very high. But I think in Banani, with such a beautiful decoration and atmosphere this price can be given. It could be a great destination if you are planning to spend hours with your friends or loved ones. The only suggestion from me is, don't visit here with your children. Otherwise, it's a great place.

I like this place for the vibe, the colorful decorations, the open space, the unique shopping stuff, and the tasty food. This is a great place for non-veg people. I didn't like their service. The stuff we're very arrogant. They even can't give a smile. They should replace or change their behavior.

Open sky vegetarian restaurant, a very good place to chill out in this bustling city. One of the very few pet friendly restaurants in Dhaka. You will find their own pet cats roaming around the restaurant's open space. They have a closed space downstairs as well which is air-conditioned. You will see people seating there for hours and doing chit chat. They accept card payment as well as cash. The food quality is good, it won't make you feel bloated.

Love love love this place, homely, friendly and neat !! Amazing food , great ambiance, great service !! Due to living abroad this was my first visit , but this was the only restaurant on my checklist for this tour and it was so worth it !! I am sure it’s reputation is well worth but just in case you haven’t been there , I’d recommend that you do !! Also , if you are visiting Bangladesh and looking for hygiene (can’t stress enough about this) and authentic food this is the place you have to visit !! We had way too many food , which was only possible because they don’t add unnecessary spices to kill your appetite !! I am still dreaming about their khichuri, fuchka and puli pitha !! Undoubtedly the best puli pitha I have ever had !! Thank you jatra biroti for providing us with such a memorable experience!! Hope I can visit one more time before my tour ends !! ❤️

What a restaurant this is—amazing food, an intriguing seating arrangement, and a stunning décor! And even so, these are not the main draw. They are a 100% vegan/vegetarian restaurant, which is unusual in Dhaka. Although I am not a vegetarian, I frequently have to handle formal delegations that have vegetarians. When guests remain for extended periods of time, it can be difficult to plan meals because we have to keep repeating the same menu. This location is a blessing! I invited my guests over and told them they could get anything they wanted from the menu. Without any concern or dread! They really enjoyed it! Even my meat-loving tongue thought the food was fantastic. I appreciated how they use mushrooms as a really suitable beef substitute. All of the food—starters, entrees, desserts, and drinks—was delicious. I adored the seating arrangement since you could spend hours there talking to friends.

The basket is way too price and 80 % of the foods are just potatoes with no seasoning. The tea is expensive too but taste is not so good. But great ambience and perfect place for having some quality times.

A place with good and sophisticated vibes. The rooftop portion of the restaurant is a place of great ambience.Staff are mainly tribal women. They are professional and well mannered.Situated on the banani main road just opposite the UCB bank building. I am cutting 2 stars for 1.having no parking arrangements specially for bikes. You have to park the bike in the footpath or neighbouring building's parking space. 2.for the overpriced foods. If you are searching for cheap and value for money food this place should not be on your list.

It's an excellent place that appreciates Bangladeshi arts and tradition even in a jam packed urban area like Banani. They have adorable cats. They might even come to your lap and fall asleep. This place has also several floors of hand crafted goods and accessories for shopping. Their food quality is average compared to their high price. Besides they only serve vegan foods. Cash: Accepted Card: Accepted Washroom: Available Parking: Available Wheelchair Accessible: No

Very naturally organized place for hangout. Ambience is very good with greenery and nature made sitting arrangements. They use all natural things. Food is fresh and very tasty. I would love to try all the dishes. They said they grow the raw ingredients in their farm. Also cooking and serving is just mindblowing.

This was in trend for a long time in Dhaka. I did not wanted to write a review, but have to because i took a lot of photos. It is a great place for sitting and talking. If you want to pass a little bit of time with your friends and family, this is the right place. You should be careful because there is no dedicated smoking zone. So everyone is smoking everywhere. Be aware of that and this place could be the right place for you.

One of my favourite restaurant around Banani, it has a huge hand made outfit, home craft, home decoration stuff and so much craft item. I love their restaurant just above their clothes outlet. Update on August 2022: they don't clean the cushion and seating place. It's dirty and oil-sticky. It's like nobody cleaned them since I visited there 2 years back. Good place to hangout and chill. Not much food options to savor your tummy (and price is on the upper side). But the ambiance is great.

If you want a cozy place to breathe and indulge into the countryside ambience, then this is a right pick for you. Have some delightful moment playing ludu or cards while listening energetic folk song. The price of food is too high but for the decoration it can be compromised. And of course, don't forget to adore the cutest Kitty 🐈.

The place is absolutely wonderful . Great place to take pictures . The colorful walls, the deshi designs on the walls makes it very appealing . The rooftop is simply awesome. You can spend a lot of time on the roof hanging out with your friends or family . But the problem lies in food. They are usually not up to the mark and not tasty at all.

  • 5/5 Raisha A. 3 years ago on Google

It's a rooftop chill-out place. I wouldn't call it a restaurant. It is one smoking-friendly, well-decorated place in dhaka where you can hang out with friends and guitars, ukulele etc. Sometimes it's noisy but I wouldn't expect otherwise from so many young people. Food is a bit pricey. And yes, they have a nice cat there.

I am extremely sorry, but I simply hated the place. We ordered fried vegetable basket and samosas. We eat beguni, peaju, mushroom fry, cauliflower fry in local tongs which tastes better than what they served. People who like mushroom chop/fry should try one's from Hakim Chattar of Dhaka University. Besides there were dogs and cats roaming around. I didn't know to enter the restaurant one have to be a pet lover! We felt that way. Some of us might have allergies. Owners should keep this in mind. Another, odd thing was where we ordered, the guy who was taking orders was not helpful at all. Usually, waiters recommend customer's the food which they might try and like. The guy was worse than a robot. Btw, is there a law where it states that a vegetarian restaurant can not have regular water glass???

Need not to say anything about the decoration...In that case they are top notch...But they take service charge and vat...so I felt them a little overpriced...But obviously the decoration minimizes that little drawback...The only thing that I didn't like - many people smoked there and didn't even dump the packet on the dustbin, they just left it on the table....🙂And the service providers just ignore these things...🤧 Yet I may go there again...just for its charming decoration....

Have been there once after all the hype. Restaurant looks good at night. Suitable for people who loves to be casual. Mostly sitting on cushioned floors. With some tables with chairs. Comfort depends on weather as it is rooftop in middle of the city with some unwanted noise. Food is complete vegan and bengali. Tastes good. Price is ok compared to other restaurants in the vicinity. There are smoking and non smoking areas. Servers were nice and polite. They take time to take orders. Not rude. Live music happens every Thursday night. Bands and singers are novice

This place will give you authentic Bangladeshi vibe. If you are visiting the country for the first time I think you should try this place. They only served vegetarian food which is kind of rare in Bangladesh but I really appreciate this practice. But few of their dishes are really oily. They don’t use any plastic things which is an ethical practice. They also don’t use any mosquito coil or spray rather use desi dhoop. Try the place… you won’t be disappointed z

  • 4/5 Walid H. 2 years ago on Google
The cost is significantly higher for deshi cuisines. But I guess, it is the premium for the place. The interior feels close to home with its cozy setting and open spaces; especially, the rooftop place is a perfect hangout with friends and family, you can see the city skyline from here.

I always like this place. Best place to hangout with friends. Though they have all vegetarian items but all of them are mouthwatering. Especially their one of the best selling item coconut shake. But last time I tried the green mango juice. It was so so tasty. Must try.

A vegetarian and vegan paradise in the heart of Dhaka. Their dishes, while incomprehensible to certain palates, are peculiarly delicious. They have a great seating area on their roof and inside. A number of books are available to read. The best about this setting is the ambience.

A good place to hangout with friends. The food is pretty much expensive and the taste is pretty average. The place is too much aesthetic and really good for clicking pictures. It is located near kamal ataturk avenue and if you to take click good pictures this place is definitely recommended .

Jatra Biroti restaurant is an absolute delight! Their traditional cuisine is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step in, the aroma of delicious dishes fills the air. The flavors are impeccable, and every bite is a journey into culinary excellence. A must-visit for food enthusiasts!

If you love having cats making biscuits on your lap, you'll love this place. The masala tea was good! Chotpoti, not so much! Oh don't forget to pet the white one as well!

Pure bangali vibes you can feel it here. The surroundings, decorations are nicely done to represent the nostalgic Bengali childhood.

Like everyone, I did love the ambiance & atmosphere. It's great for all kind of gatherings, be it hangout with friends, be it a date or even a business meeting. But, the food is so overpriced. We took the Chotpoti platter and God it was so bad! The Chita ruti platter was interesting, but food quantity was small. The service people were very unfriendly and to some extent hostile. Loved the cats tho.

IMAGES: DOG URINATING ON CUSTOMER SITTING AREAS AS WELL AS PROOF TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE Went in the morning to Jatra we first noticed that there was a dog who peed in the seating arrangements for the customers. We informed the staff who didn’t seem to concern themselves with the fact that a puppy was peeing around the place in which people sit and eat while also jumping on the table. Being an animal lover we were not opposed to being surround by animals however the lack of hygiene and care made ourselves question the maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant. We went to Jatra during their open hours to eat and they informed us that there was only 3 things available in their menu. Which furthermore is overpriced and poorly served with very exhausted staff and an unwelcoming environment. After noticing that the dog had bite me, I was concerned whether the animals were vaccinated to ensure I was not at risk of disease and required emergency medical attention. The staff only poorly apologised while not providing required prompt customer service. In providing evidence of proof of vaccination. After pestering several times we came in contact with a Manager Arthy Ahmed. Who used the excuse that as they are moving they are “quite messed up” which is PURELY NONSENSE and a lame excuse for having animals piss in eating areas while also injuring customers putting them at risk. While being assured that we will receive proof of the dogs vaccination we still have not received any contact from the Manager throughout the whole day. While spending it all in the hospital as the animal was NOT FULLY VACCINATED. This place is a health hazard that is somehow operational.
