Eternal Flame inside Dhaka Cantonment that is known as Shikha Anirban in Bangladesh, is a military memorial. For the remembrance of the brave soldiers sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. It is located just beside the Bangladesh Army Chief Resident and opposite to the Allahu Mosque. It is also adjacent to The kurmitola Golf Club.

Shikha Anirban (the Eternal Flame) at Dhaka Cantonment, where the president and prime minister of Bangladesh place wreaths on 21 November annually. Armed Forces Day is observed in Bangladesh on 21 November each year. This signifies the day in 1971, when the members of Army, Navy and Air Force of Bangladesh Liberation war forces were fully operational and launched a coordinated offensive against the Pakistani Army. On Aug. 31, 1949, Defense Secretary Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the armed forces under one agency - the Department of Defense.

A symbol of our remembrance of the martyrs of the great liberation war. The name Shikha Anirban itself means the flame that is lit forever. Just like the fire 🔥 there, the memory of the liberation war always stays in our mind. It is a very neat and clean place maintained by Bangladesh Army. The premise is inside Dhaka Cantonment, so not that easily accessible for everyone. It is a great honor and respect just to pass by this great monument of our biggest sacrifice.
