Nice area and view also. Oldest park in dhaka city. But its not safe for person after 7pm. Drug addicts and thief stay in here so be safe and security is not good, its totally poor security. But its good place for morning and evening walk , if you spend your quality time you can easily spend in here. Well decorated and open sky. There have a lake. This lake increase the beauty of the park.

In the past, this park was known as Gulistan Park. The park has been brought back in a beautiful form by working on a new park. The park has been beautified in a new way. But there are some people here who are homeless, there are good and bad people among them. It is better not to go to this park at night. Some drug addicts hang out in this park. When they get a chance, it doesn't take even 2 minutes to snatch everything from you. So it is better not to go to this park at night

Wonderful park. Earlier entry here was free but now you have to pay 10 taka to enter here. Illegally charging 10 taka for crossing the road. Always open to general public but now timed. There are several ponds here in this park. The park is almost net and clean. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance available. Some permanent boxes have been set up in the park so that people can drop their waste there. Some ride has been added in this park for Amusement.

The park doesn't look like it has been renovated a few months back. It is not clean and well managed. It is full of floating people. From a women perspective I will not say it is safe for women. Men really outnumber women here. The waterbody is filled with plastics. I was disappointed visiting it. It has such a big area, wide walkway, trees but just because of poor management everything is going to vein.

It has been upgraded in so many ways. Now you can walk freely without having any fear of being looted. Now it's safe and you can enjoy different rides, kids zone along with various fast food restaurants. Good for spending quality family or friends time in the midst of crazy hustle.

Shaheed Matiur Park in Gulistan of the capital has been decorated. As a result of the reforms, the once neglected field has got a new look. But a few months after the inauguration, the park began to accumulate garbage. It has become a stable for floating people. Lots of polythene can be seen floating in the pond. It is considered as a modern park in Dhaka

The park was inaugurated on 22nd March, 2020 by the then mayor Md. Sayeed Khokon. Very unclean and hardly any decent spot to sit and relax right now. A significant number of beggars occupy spaces. Grasses and tiles are almost filled with garbage. Did not have a good experience. Will not recommend this park.

Surely it was meant to be a alternative option after the closing of shishupark. however it disappointed me in in some areas. the rides they arranged enough for the children. however the management could have been more efficient. and also the loud music they were playing was really annoying to the ears. and another area in which they have to improve is cleanliness. the parking facility for the motorbikes nicely arranged. The overall pricing of the food and other items were slightly overcharged.

It was covered by waste and dirt all over the so-called park. It's been much better after the renovation. However, the rides for children are terrible and overpriced. Also, it's poorly maintained. Public places shouldn't be this commercial, yet poorly managed.

Gulistan Shaheed Matiur Park is a tranquil oasis located in the heart of the city, offering respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life. As an avid nature enthusiast, I was drawn to this park's promises of greenery, peace, and recreational activities. Having visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon, I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations. One of the most striking features of Gulistan Shaheed Matiur Park is its well-maintained and lush landscapes. The abundance of trees, colorful flower beds, and neatly trimmed lawns create a visually pleasing and inviting atmosphere. It is evident that the park's caretakers put considerable effort into keeping the surroundings in top-notch condition. The park's layout is well-designed, providing ample walking paths and jogging tracks that meander through the various sections of the park. This makes it an ideal spot for both avid runners and families seeking a leisurely stroll. Benches and shaded areas are thoughtfully scattered throughout the park, providing comfortable spots to rest, read a book, or simply enjoy the scenery. Gulistan Shaheed Matiur Park caters to people of all ages, making it an excellent destination for families. Children can have a blast in the playground area, which features modern equipment and safety measures. I noticed kids gleefully playing on swings, slides, and climbing structures, under the watchful eye of their parents. For fitness enthusiasts, the park offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. The dedicated sports area includes courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, encouraging friendly matches and fostering a sense of community among visitors. I joined a group playing a spirited game of badminton and had a fantastic time. One of the park's highlights is its serene lake, which adds to the overall charm. Boating facilities are available, allowing visitors to paddle around the water and enjoy the company of ducks and swans that call the lake home. It's a perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature. During my visit, I couldn't help but notice the cleanliness of the park. Trash bins are strategically placed, and visitors seem to be respectful of the environment, helping to maintain the park's pristine condition. The presence of security personnel also adds a sense of safety and comfort. The only minor downside I observed was the lack of sufficient restroom facilities. The existing ones were clean, but considering the park's popularity, it would be beneficial to have more restrooms available. All in all, Gulistan Shaheed Matiur Park offers a delightful escape into nature's embrace. Its well-kept landscapes, diverse recreational options, and family-friendly atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you seek solitude, outdoor activities, or a place to bond with loved ones, this park will undoubtedly leave you with pleasant memories. I highly recommend spending a day here to experience the refreshing beauty and tranquility it has to offer.

A nice place just beside the Gulistan busy area. There is a pond in the middle of this park and a large seminar hall named Mohanagar Natya Mancha. There are some kids activity and adult people can also enjoy their free time here.

(Translated by Google) A martyred freedom fighter of Bangladesh. Matiur Rahman was born on 29 October 1941 at 109, Aga Sadeq Road, Old Dhaka, Matiur Rahman. His ancestral home is in Ramnagar village of Raipura police station in Narsingdi district. Which is now known as Matinagar. He was the 6th of 9 brothers and 2 sisters. His father is Maulvi Abdus Samad, mother is Syeda Mubarakunnesa Khatun. After passing the sixth class from Dhaka Collegiate School, he was admitted to the Pakistan Air Force Public School in Sargodha. Passed the first section with distinction metric test successfully. Matiur Rahman joined the Pakistan Air Force in 1971. In 1973, he got commission from Risalpur PA College as a pilot officer. After receiving the commission, he was posted as General Duty Pilot in Squadron No. 2 of Mauripur (now Masroor) Air Base in Karachi. Here he completed a conversion course on a T-33 jet and passed with a score of 85.6%. He then took a conversion course on an F-7 Saber Jet and passed with a score of 61%. He was posted to Peshawar (19th Squadron) on the basis of good results in aviation conversion course. He was a flying officer during the Indo-Pakistani war in 1965. Then go back to Sargodha for the Mig Conversion course. There, on July 21, 1986, while flying a MiG-19, it suddenly crashed into the sky and landed on the ground with a parachute. In 1986, he was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He was the only Bengali pilot to fly in Peshawar in honor of Queen Farah of Iran. After working as a flying instructor in Risalpur for two years, he was transferred to Jet Flying Instructor in 1970. As he was about to reach the Indian border, Rashed Minhaj regained consciousness and tried to take control of the plane. Rashed wanted Motiur Rahman's plan to hijack the plane to succeed rather than destroy it. [3] The plane, which was flying at low altitudes, once crashed in the Thatta area, just 35 miles from the Indian border, along with Rashed. He was killed as he did not have a parachute with Matiur Rahman. His body was found about half a mile from the scene. On August 20, 1971, Matiur Rahman and Rashed Minhaj died for their respective countries. The Government of Bangladesh awarded Matiur Rahman the title of Bir Shrestha for his courageous role and Rashed Minhaj was conferred the honorary title by the Government of Pakistan. Incidentally, it is rare for two people to be awarded the highest honorary title in their country for two opposite roles in the same event. This place is totally messed up. People are not aware about how much waste they throw in this park. Moreover, Maximum waste is plastic. If they did not do something, the park diversity will be change. Plus, The animals and birds cannot live this park. The authorities and people of Dhaka City do something about this park....

Presently it renovated and opened for all. A fitness center setup inside of this park. Place is little bit clean but homeless people gathered here and making this place uncomfortable and nasty. A small but beautiful lake created in it. Walkways are wide cover full of park. Environment friendly dustbin sets up. A fresh peaceful and mind freshing environment. A good place for spend evening times.
