Baldha
Garden is
the
green
heaven
of
Dhaka.
Crossing
the
Rajdhani
Super
Market,
if
you
walk
to
Hatkhola
road
for
five
minutes,
you
will
find
Nawab
Street
in
Wari
of
old
Dhaka.
Here
is
the
Baldha
Garden
located.
The
wide
road
will
be
seen
after
entering
the
garden.
There
are
countless
species
of
native
and
foreign
trees
on
both
sides
of
the
road.
This
is
the
garden
full
of
birds
and
trees
of
various
kinds.
It
seems
like
a
green
heaven
in
the
chest
of
the
capital
city
of
Bangladesh.
It
is
known
that,
in
1909,
the
work
of
establishing
this
garden
was
started
by
Narendra
Narayan
Roy
Chaudhury, the
Zamindar of
Baldha
Estate.
Initially,
the
country's
rare
Saplings,
bushy
domestic
plants,
Orchids
and
Cactus
were
planted
there.
He
named
this
part
as
'Saiki'
which
means
'spirit'.
In
1936,
he
used
more
3.8
acres
of
land
for
the
proliferation
of
plants in this
part.
And
he
named
this
part
as
'Sibley'
which
means
'Goddess
of
Nature'.
Currently,
there
are
about
eighteen
thousand
plants
of
eight
hundred
species,
consisting
of
domestic
and
foreign
plants
in
this
garden.
Among
them,
some
are
very
rare
plants.
There
is
a
large
reserve
of
Orchid
plants
inside
the
garden.
Various
species
of
aquatic
plants
are
found
here
that
include
Shapala,
Nilapadma,
Yellow
Shapla,
Kachuripana
and
lovely
Amazon
Lily.
Lily
flowers
are
very
interesting
to
watch
that
blooms
in
the
evening.
There
is
a
Cactus
house
which
has
a
variety
of
charming
cactus
trees.
There
is
also
a
huge
collection
of
rare
palm
trees
in
the
garden.
There
are
all
kinds
of
trees,
shrubs,
herbs
and
cosmetic
plants
in
Baldha
garden.
A
plenty
of
rare
trees
like
Saradmallika,
Latajoba,
Kananga,
Kanak
Sudha,
Kantak
Lata,
Papyrus,
Dhupgach,
White
Shimul,
Hing,
