Lalmatia Shahi Masjid Complex (Bibi Masjid)

Tourist attraction Mosque Place of worship

👍👍 This is a historical mosque that dates back to Mughal Period, around 200 years old. The central part of the masjid still holds the basic structure although now it has been extended greatly. I have been living in this area, Lalmatia, since 2001 and I am fortunate to see a large number of modification... People often mention mosque, masjid, pond, prayers,

This is a historical mosque that dates back to Mughal Period, around 200 years old. The central part of the masjid still holds the basic structure although now it has been extended greatly. I have been living in this area, Lalmatia, since 2001 and I am fortunate to see a large number of modifications. Now the masjid is 3 storey tall with fully air conditioned ground floor. It has a big pond west of it where they farm fishes and are sold on auction once a month or two months. North of it is the open space, Eidgah, for Eid prayers. Further north is the Madrasah. Cars can be parked in the open space.

A archeological site, the main buildig of the mosque lies here from the Mughal period. Although now it has been extended, and a madrasa, a hostel and a market has been added to the complex. After saying prayers, one can enjoy fresh air standing on the bank of the pond.

1600 year old mosque in Lalmatia built by people during Shaista Khan's (mughal governor) period. The pool of this mosque are cleaned once a month. And on friday they provide good khudbahs. The mosque was first named as Bibi Masjid but changed to Lalmatia Shahi masjid during pakistan war.

Though I dont feel the need to categorise any prayer place, all of them are 5 stars for me. It was clean and who maintaining this is cordial. I mentioned cordial as I have experienced hurshness in another place due to using of their washroom.

A very holy and mesmerising place for a person like me. It's just beside my coaching, in which I spend most of my day as of 2023, so I am able to pray at least 3 times prayer at the mosque. Alhamduliillah.

To me, Mosque is one of the most peaceful places in the world. If you sit in the mosque, you will not have any worries about personal life. And nowadays most of the mosques in the city have AC so it still seems like a place of comfort. And I also like to listen to religious discussions. All in all, a mosque means a piece of paradise in the heart of the world. The mosque is the only place in the world where there is no difference between rich and poor, big and small. Everyone is equal and praying in equal rows. No one will be encouraged to engage in bad deeds if they are involved in mosques. And prayers keep people away from all bad deeds, if it is like original prayers. May Allah grant us all Tawfiq

This is such a masjid I love to pray and spend time. From my childhood i used to pray here. Quality atmosphere, though should have been better in terms of maintenance and cleanness. Very rare scenic beauty, a pond beside it, where u can enjoy fresh air. It has expanded without loosing its very ancient structure. Lots of people can took part in prayer at a time.
