Dhanmondi Shahi Eidgah' located at Dhanmondi 6/A, satmasjid road, is one of the most ancient archaeological sites in Dhaka city. This historical Eidgah is also known as 'Mughal Eidgah, as it is a unique Mughal sign in Dhaka. it was built in 1640 AD. Eidgah masjid is just eastern part of this field.

This is one of the oldest Eidgah fields in Dhaka city. It was built in 1050 A.H/ 1640 A.D. by Mr. Abul Qashim, the Dewan of Subader Shah Shuja. At present the Eidgah field takes new look as a result of a renovation by the government. At present this Eidgah is principally used for saying eid prayers twice in a year. Besides that after the death of any Muslim neighbour Janajah prayer is performed here. This Eidgah is big enough to accommodate the Muslims of the surrounding areas in two eid prayers. So it's very popular among the neighbour Muslims. Definitely the inhabitants surrounding the Eidgah are very proud of this historical place. On the east side of the Eidgah there is a Jame Masjid called Dhanmondi Eidgah Jame Masjid which was rebuilt few years back in place of the old one using modern architechture and costly marble which can accommodate thousands of Muslims at a time.

This is. Historical place. This perticular masjid is a famous structure of Mughal era. 400 years older this masjid is a witness of time, years and centuries. Great structure. We used to go there for Eid Namaz. Having so many memories around this place.

Dhanmondi Eidgah math and masjid is very dear to me since it's been part and parcel of my life, but the masjid have grown to multistorey building to accommodate ever increasing worshippers especially on Jummah day.

I occasionally go there and I found this mosque relaxing. The interior of the mosque is great. Though the exterior is still under construction, the mosque is great for praying. After completing the construction the mosque will be a great mosque in the country. I don't know much about the imam but I am sure one will like the mosque.

Personally Dhanmondi Eidgah ground and mosque is one of my favorite places. Every Friday I try to offer Friday prayers in this mosque. Being a big mosque, there is no gathering about space. Ayukhana, toilet facilities are also very good.

This mosque has space LOTS ....LOTS of it. The only thing it has more of is it's HISTORY. Standing under the open sky for Eid jamats makes me feel like i am praying with ghosts of mughals and nawabs alongside me. Drawbacks...neither are there any aircon facilities in the building nor women prayer options...and those are very BIG drawbacks in this day & age

This is the oldest living Eid gagh in Dhaka city. Established around 1608 AD, which is as old as the Dhaka city itself, which happens to be my birthplace as well! It is still used for Eid prayers, bacause its that the Eid prayer is preffered to be offered from an open place. Proud to live around its area!

U may ask me, why i have rated 5 star here, then i might mention u the availability of space for praying to Allah is much enough, as this is the most density populated city in the world. 6 storied found, and more (may be) to constructed of this mosque. Quality tiles, quality light air ventilation and fine traffic circulation available. Ablution area is separated from the main building, so that u may rarely find water drop in the whole mosque.

Built in 1640 CE during the Mughal Empire for Eid prayer. The Mughal Subehdars and Diwans used to come to the Eidgah for Eid prayers. People still gather at the place for Eid prayer. In Mughal era a river once flowed beside its walls which connected to the river that is near Saat Masjid. That river doesn't have any trace of its existence now.

Ancient mosque of Dhaka city. A new building for mosque was built few years back in replacement of the old one. The current capacity of the mosque is now good enough specially for Zumma prayer. Internal design is also very good with specious environment in each floor that results excellent air circulation.

Doesn't have parking. No proper access for disable people. Horrendous design. Much money is wastee just to make a minaret. And it did no justice to the historic eid gah tht is adjacent. If any architect involved in designing this monstrosity, should be revoked license to practice.

The Eidgah was built in 1640 CE during the Mughal era and has been in use for Eid celebration since then. The structure is a listed archaeological site of the Department of Archaeology and has historical, architectural and heritage values. It is an example of Mughal architecture. Conservationist architect Abu Sayeed M Ahmed wrote, "This Eidgah is the oldest surviving Mughal monument in Dhaka city. There is no second one with the architectural forms and features similar to it."

There is a lot of green grass in the field which looks like a carpet. In front of the Eidgah there is a four-storey Jame Mosque and a Madrasa. A very calm and excellent place for salah. The mosque is fabulous inside, thoug it's yet under construction. But. I'm sure that. after completion, the mosque will be extremely aesthetic! The shankar main road, Anam-rangs plaza and Rabindra Sarobar (dhanmondi lake) is no distance from the mosque. This premise have arrangement of drinking water. Safe place to park car/bike on road side, nobody will bother you for parking your ride here. One thing I didn't like, is it's udhu place. It is out side of main mosque and you will need to put on your shoes with wet feet after udhu to reach in main mosque. Except this, it's all over a fantastic place.

It is one of the most beautiful place in Dhanmondi. It looks gorgeous in both day and night. There is a big mosque near the eidgah. People who have permission from the authority can play in this eidgah. In evening it is decorated with powerful lights. But it is not good to waste electricity. Because wasting is not permissible in Islam.

It's huge and many people can pray together. However, there isn't any car park and people have to park their cars by the roadside causing traffic jam. There isn't any women's prayer room either for such a big mosque and that is quite disappointing.

One of the largest mosque in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka, having a Eidgah field also. Place of peace. Place whether Muslims can complete prayers 5 times in a day. There is a portion in ground floor is air-conditioned. Though it’s located in a residential area but there are so many corporate office running their office neer to this Masjid. So along with the residents of this area corporate people also can attend Namaz in this Masjid. Masjid is a place where muslims may get peace by attending Namaz in Jamayat. This is why I always love to attend Namaz in Masjid though sometimes can't attend in Jamayat in Masjid.

The size of it is huge! Additionally, I loved the huge Field for Eid Jamat along with a historical wall that looks antique. The only issue I think needs to be improved is their parking system. The parking space currently is not enough. However, I saw a new underground parking lot under construction. Let's hope to see it fully functional very soon!
