I had the privilege of visiting Baitul Mukarram Mosque, and it was an awe-inspiring experience. The grandeur of the mosque's architecture is truly captivating. The intricate designs and the sheer size of the mosque left me in awe. Inside, the atmosphere is serene, making it a perfect place for reflection and prayer. The friendly and welcoming staff added to the positive experience. It's not just a religious site; it's a cultural and architectural masterpiece. A must-visit for anyone in the area...

Built by a family more than 60 years ago, this mosque has become a unique place of dignity for all Muslims in Bangladesh. It is built on the pattern of Kaaba house in Mecca. Most significant mosque in this south asia also.

Great Mosque. If the weather is fine, it view gets better. Outside kinda looks heavenly. Inside is really big. It's the biggest mosque in Bangladesh. Anyway, Interior is getting quite old. They need to color and polish the white marble. It is really dark inside. But, everything aside it is recommended to visit once.

So peaceful and serene atmosphere, the whole area is marble white and so spacious. And it's so big that it should be named as the grand mosque of Dhaka. Though the bad part is that the administrations let the beggars inside the area to beg. Hopefully they'd take care of it.

National Mosque of Bangladesh. One of the largest mosque in Dhaka city. Extraordinary architectural view. Maximum open space for prayer. Have enough place for take a aju but the fresh room is not up to the level as a National Mosque. Interior also good, always feel special whenever I offer my prayer here. This mosque have a huge market place around it. Very cheap d varites of products are available here. This place is really amazing in all point. Although the Jumma Khutba is not up to my expectations but I love this mosque.

The national mosque of Bangladesh, Baitul Mukarram, is situated in the heart of the busy city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. With this in mind, it is clear that Baitul Mukarram, being the national mosque of Bangladesh, is of significant importance to Muslims in the area. Due to the rapid growth of the city of Dhaka in the late 1950s, the need arose for a large capacity mosque to care for the increasing Muslim population. The mosque complex of Baitul Mukarram was designed by the architect T Abdul Hussain Thariani and has several modern architectural features, while still beautifully preserving the traditional principles of mosque architecture. The mosque complex includes shops, libraries, offices, and parking areas. The main prayer hall has an area of 26,517 square feet with an additional mezzanine floor on the eastern side which measures 1,840 square feet. The prayer hall has verandas on three of its sides. The mihrab (a niche in the wall of the mosque showing the direction of Mecca) is rectangular instead of the more traditional semi-circular design and ornamental decoration has been kept to a minimum. The gardens with rows of fountains are beautifully maintained. The architectural style of Baitul Makarram closely resembles the famous Ka’abah at Mecca, distinguishing it from other mosques in Bangladesh.

➤ 22-04-2023 Baitul Mukarram ('The Holy House'), is the National Mosque of Bangladesh. Located at the center of Dhaka. The mosque was completed in 1968. It has a capacity of 42,000+. The mosque complex was designed by architect, Abdulhusein M. Thariani. Mosque's building is eight storied and 99 feet high from the ground level. Two patios (roofless inner courtyard) ensure that enough light and air enter the prayer hall The 'shaan' on the east is 29,000 square feet with ablution space on its south and north sides. There was a large pond in present mosque's location. It was known as 'Paltan Pond' Baitul Mukarram's large cube shape was modeled after that of the Ka'abah at Mecca making it a noticeable structure unlike any other mosque in Bangladesh.

One of the oldest and the only national mosque in Bangladesh. The mosque is huge and yet one of the biggest. A tree with a huge place is inside the mosque. You will feel the power of this place how majestic this place is. So proud we have a mosque like this. Alhamdulillah.

The mosque is on a very high platform. The Baitul Mukarram National Mosque's building is eight storied and 99 feet high from the ground level. According to the original plan, the main entrance of the mosque was to be on the eastern side. The 'shaan' on the east is 29,000 square feet with ablution space on its south and north sides. Ablution or Wu’du Place cached an important part when the Baitul Mukarram was begun. The absence of a dome on the main building is compensated by the two superficial domed entrance porticoes, one on the south, and the other on the north. The height of these porticoes consists of three rabbit's foot shaped arches, the middle of which is bigger than the rest.

The mosque complex was designed by architect, Abdulhusein M. Thariani.[4] In a meeting held at his house on 27 April 1959, owner of then Bawani Jute Mills, Abdul Latif Ibrahim Bawani invited GA Madani, Haji Abdul Latif Bawani, MH Adamji, S Sattar, Muhammad Sadiq, AZN Rezai Karim and Major Umrao Khan.[5] In that meeting he proposed to Major General Umrao Khan, then military administrator of East Pakistan, of building a grande mosque in Dhaka. Umrao Khan agreed to help on building such mosque. Same year, 'Baitul Mukarram mosque committee' had been established and 8.30 acre of land between new Dhaka and old Dhaka had been chosen. At that time, there was a large pond in present mosque's location. It was known as 'Paltan pond. The pond was filled up and on 27 January 1960 then president of Pakistan Ayub Khan commenced the work. Pray for first time took place on Friday, 25 January 1963. On 28 March 1975, the Government of Bangladesh entrusted the management of the mosque to the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh.[6] The plan included shops, offices, libraries and parking areas within the complex. Though there has been a tradition of dome mosque for Muslim, this building did not maintain the rule of traditional mosque in that time. A Mosque without a dome over the roof of its main prayer hall must have been a unique experiment. The mosque was built when the country was the Part of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. in 2008 the mosque was extended, financed by a donation from the Saudi government. Credit: Wikipedia

The National Mosque of Bangladesh, not only the largest in Bangladesh but one of the largest in the world with a capacity more than 42000. Completed in late Pakistani rule and designed by Abdulhusein Thariani, a prominent architect of the age. The mosque's architecture has derived it's influence from Mughal architecture but it has a very modern look to it. original design doesn't stand now because it had to be renovated and extended to meet modern needs, but it's still very beautiful.

Prayed Eid-ul Fitr 2023 in Baitul Mokarram Mosque. It was so crowded that day. A great Holy place. Also have separated floor, room, buildings for females. Great atmosphere. Alhamdulillah. Baitul Mokarram Mosque, nestled in the heart of Dhaka, Bangladesh, stands as a magnificent testament to Islamic architecture and cultural significance. As the national mosque of Bangladesh, it exudes a sense of grandeur and spiritual tranquility. Its modern design, featuring intricate geometric patterns and towering minarets, captivates visitors with its sheer beauty and elegance. Stepping inside, one is enveloped by a serene ambiance, amplified by the soft whispers of prayers and the gentle glow of stained glass windows. The vast prayer hall, adorned with intricate calligraphy and ornate chandeliers, offers a space for reflection and devotion. Outside, the bustling streets of Dhaka fade into the background, allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the mosque's peaceful atmosphere. Whether one seeks solace in prayer or simply wishes to admire its architectural splendor, Baitul Mokarram Mosque is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the rich cultural tapestry of Bangladesh.

This is the national mosque of Bangladesh. So it's very important to place for the Muslim community in Bangladesh. It has plenty of space for regular prayers but especially on Friday, It's become a very crowded place just because of people from all around Dhaka came here Jummah prayer. It also has a great reputation for its infrastructure. Must recommend the place to visit any visitor who never been in Dhaka.

I felt something when I entered the mosque for the first time. It was pure joy and happiness. The holiness touched my heart. Also the compound of the mosque is home to thousands of homeless people. I spent almost 7-8 hours in the mosque and enjoyed every bit of it.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque (Arabic: بيت المكرَّم الوطني مسجد‎) is the national mosque of Bangladesh. The mosque is located in Paltan, the heart of the capital Dhaka. The construction of the mosque was completed in 1968. Its architecture is very beautiful. The steps to build this mosque were taken at the initiative of Latif Bawani, a prominent industrialist of Pakistan and his nephew Yahya Bawani. The mosque can hold 30,000 worshipers at once, making it the 10th largest mosque in the world in terms of capacity. However, since the mosque has a large number of worshipers besides Friday prayers, especially during Ramadan, the Bangladesh government increased the capacity of the mosque to 40,000.

Icon of the city... Baitul Mukarram continues to be amazing since it was built decades ago during my boyhood. Located at the city center, it is the biggest mosque of the city which also houses a sprawling shopping center. I remember buying my first wrist watch from there. With traffic increasing year after year, some people living far do not go there anymore, but the icon still holds its pride and charm.
