The Tomb House of Pori Bibi is a breathtakingly beautiful and highly recommended historical site in Bangladesh. Lalbagh Fort, established in 1688 AD during the Mughal era by Emperor Aurangzeb's son Azam Shah, bears witness to Mughal reign in Dhaka. Initially started by Azam Shah and continued by Subadar Shaista Khan, the construction halted after the unfortunate demise of Pori Bibi, Shaista Khan's daughter. Despite remaining incomplete, Lalbagh Fort holds immense historical significance and was later recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as a cherished historical artifact. This fort stands as a poignant reminder of Mughal architectural prowess and cultural heritage in Bangladesh. The three-domed mosque and the tomb of Pori Bibi within the fort's Durbar Hall stand as silent testaments to this intriguing history. Visitors are drawn to this site for its historical narrative and the compelling story that remains etched within its walls.

Lalbagh Fort is one of the historical places of the Mughal Empire in Bangladesh. In 1678, Azam Shah, the son of Emperor Aurangzeb, took the initiative to build it. The construction work stopped a few days after the work started. Later Shayesta Kha started working again. But after the death of Pori Bibi in 1684, the work remained unfinished. After Poribibi's untimely death, she was buried right in the middle of the Durbar Hall of the fort under construction and a three-domed mosque.

An important and historical monumental place which is situated in the heart of Puran Dhaka. A great place to spend your afternoon with your family and friends. Traveling there is very easy and convenient. Entry fee is 20tk for BD Citizen and 200tk or 2.5$ (aprx.) for foreigners. Some decent quality restaurant is also available outside of the fort. It became crowded on Holidays.

Pari Bibi's Tomb is one of the most interesting and important structures inside Lalbagh Fort. After entering the Lalbagh Fort, the first thing visitors see is this tomb. Subadar Shaista Khan's adopted daughter died young, he built this mausoleum in her memory. Although it is believed that Paribibi was not laid to rest in the tomb.

To know the history of Mughal Emperor you can visit this place. The Mughal prince Muhammad Azam, third son of Awrangajeb started the work of the fort in 1678 during his vice-royalty in Bengal . He stayed in Bengal for 15 months. The fort remained incomplete when he was called away by his father Awrangajeb. Shaista Khan was the new subahdar of Dhaka in that time, and he did not complete the fort. In 1684, the daughter of Shaista Khan named Iran Dukht Pari Bibi died there. After her death, he started to think the fort as unlucky, and left the structure incomplete. Among the three major parts of Lalbagh Fort, one is the tomb of Pari Bibi. After Shaista Khan left Dhaka, it lost its popularity. The main cause was that the capital was moved from Dhaka to Murshidabad. After the end of the royal Mughal period, the fort became abandoned. In 1844, the area acquired its name as Lalbagh replacing Awrangabad, and the fort became Lalbagh Fort.

Iran Dukht Rehmat Banu Badshah, who was known as Pari Bibi, was the daughter of Shaista Khan, the Mughal Subadar of Bengal. She was married to Muhammad Azam, son of Emperor Aurangzeb. National encyclopedia Banglapedia states that Pari Bibi was married to Shahzada Azam on May 3, 1668 after setting a dowry of 1 lakh 80 thousand taka. After that he came to Dhaka with Azam and started living. Shahzada Azam started the work of Lalbagh Fort in 1678. In the meantime, when he moved to Delhi on the call of his father, Shaista Khan continued construction work. But on the untimely death of his daughter Pari Bibi in 1684, he stopped the construction of the fort. Pari Bibi is buried on the east side of the mosque inside the fort. Then Shaista Khan built a beautiful monument over the daughter's tomb. For the construction of this shrine, Shaista Khan brought white marble, sandstone and many other construction materials from different parts of India. By combining these, one of the most spectacular shrines was created. There are eight other chambers surrounding the tomb. There is another small tomb in the southeast chamber. It is said that this is the tomb of Pari Bibi's daughter Samsad Begum. There are four pinnacles at the four corners of the building. The octagonal dome over the central room is covered with brass sheet. Of course, it was originally wrapped in gold leaf. After the Directorate of Archeology took over, the entire place has been beautifully renovated. Anyone can visit Lalbagh Fort in old Dhaka and see the tomb. The history of pain is embedded with this three and a half hundred year traditional tomb. And there are signs of a father's love for his daughter.

Lalbagh Fort is a fort located on the banks of the Buriganga River on the west-south side of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Which stands tall with memories of Mughal rule. During the reign of Mughal Emperor Alamgir, his son Shahzada Azam Khan started the construction of this fort in 1678. But later, when he moved to Delhi to suppress the Maratha rebellion from Bengal, Subadar Shaista Khan took forward the construction of it. But after the death of his daughter Pari Bibi, the construction of this fort stopped. During the later British period, it remained an abandoned fort. Later, the Government of Bangladesh considered this fort as a historical artifact and took steps to maintain it.

(Translated by Google) The grave of Bibi Pari, daughter of Shaista Khan, is located in the center of the Lalbagh Fort complex, which sits in front of the Buriganga River in southwestern Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the central square room you can find the remains of Pori Bibi covered with a false octagonal dome and sheathed with copper plates. The entire interior wall is clad in white marble. A wide road lined with neatly trimmed bushes leads to the grave. There are many roses around. Worth to visit. Each side of the building is 60 feet long. There are four minarets at four corners. It is divided into nine parts in imitation of the Taj Mahal and the tomb of Pari Bibi in the middle room. The tomb is made of white and black marble. This building has a dome. The upper part of the dome is covered with copper.

(Translated by Google) Lalbagh Palace-Fort is self-complete in the glory of Mughal architecture. In addition to these architectural monuments, the Department of Archeology undertook the Lalbagh Fort Museum a few years ago with a view to shed more light on the Mughal period. It is against the archeological practice to erect a new building near or inside an ancient ruin; So the museum has been set up within a short range of the two-storey Durbar Hall built by Prince Ajak. The interior panels and niches have been used as exhibition bases without any change in their original features. Due to the smuggling of many valuable artefacts from the British period to the post-independence period and the lack of proper preservation, the Mughal period items are very scarce in this country. Nevertheless, the Department of Archeology has been able to collect a number of artefacts in the last few years. These artefacts include Mughal period weapons, manuscripts, coins, pottery, carpets, handicrafts, etc. Only two of the items on display are closely related to the history of Lalbagh Fort. (Translated by Google) It is one of the three installations of Lalbagh Fort. Paribibi is buried here. Shaista Khan built this charming shrine in memory of his daughter. Of the three huge gates of Lalbagh Fort, only one is currently open to the public. Entering through this door, the tomb of the fairy Bibi can be seen. Another name of the family is Iran Dukhat Rahmat Banu, she was the daughter of Shaista Khan, the Mughal of Bengal. Paribibi was married to Prince Azam, the son of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, on 3 May 18. After the untimely death of Paribibi in 184, he was buried inside the Lalbagh fort under construction. The tomb of Paribibi was built by marking his tomb. The installation of Paribibi's shrine is quadrangular. The nine rooms are decorated with marble stones, kasti stones and flower-leaf glazed tiles of different colors. In the middle room is the family cemetery and there are eight rooms around this house. The roof of the installation is made of Kasti stone and has four octagonal minarets at the four corners and an octagonal dome in the middle. The dome above the central chamber of the main mausoleum was once gilded, later the entire dome was covered with brass / copper sheets. The 20.2 m square tomb was built before 16 AD. However, experts are of the opinion that the body of Paribibi is not present here at present.
