It’s one of the oldest church of Bangladesh

It is a Christian community-run school. The quality of study here is very good. Besides, the environment of this school is very beautiful. The teachers here are called Fathers. The school is located on the opposite side of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court on the north side of Victoria Park. It is a very old and traditional school.

St Thomas' Church / Saint Thomas Church: A place of worship built by the Anglican Communion. It is located near Bahadur Shah Park in Laxmibazar, Dhaka. Johnson Road, one of Dhaka's most important roads, separates the church from Adalat-Kortkachari and Jagannath University. It is also known as 'Church of Bangladesh'. History: Its construction was completed in 1819 AD. Reginald Heber, Bishop of Calcutta, came to Dhaka on July 10, 1824 and inaugurated it. It was active as a cathedral church until 1951. It is known that the inmates of Dhaka Jail labored in the construction of the church. In the early 19th century, the Church played a role in the spread of Protestantism in Bengal. Currently, Baptists dominate over Protestants in Bangladesh, but Church of England and Presbyterians are also active. In 1947, Bangladesh became part of the eastern province of Pakistan and became an independent state in 1971. In 1970 Presbyterians and Anglicans merged to form the local administration of the Church of Pakistan. A bloody coup d'état in Bangladesh (1971) led to bitter relations between the two countries. For a few years after 1971, the church was officially managed by the Church of Pakistan administration, but it gradually became an autonomous organization called the Church of Bangladesh. Reverend Paul S. Sarkar became the third bishop of the Church of Bangladesh in January 2003 to lead the church. In 2005 the church had about 15,600 members. St. Thomas's Church is a nice place. There a primary school in church premises. Here education is provided without any cost. Even the uniform, exercise books for the whole academic year are distributed among the students. It is situated beside Victoria Park, Dhaka.

In fact the church overlooking the greens is a major focal of the city centre in the nineteenth century. Construction of the church, located on the east side of Johnson Road, began in 1819 and was completed in 1821. It was inaugurated on 10 July 1824 by Bishop Reginald Heber of Calcutta (Kolkata) while he was visiting Dacca (Dhaka). It has served as cathedral church since 1951. It is said that the convicts from Dhaka Jail gave their labour to build this church as well. The Anglicans, Presbyterians, Congretationalists of East Bengal, and various Methodist and Baptist bodies joined together to form the Church of Pakistan in the early 1970s. After Bangladesh won its independence from Pakistan in 1971, the Diocese of Dhaka emerged from the Church of Pakistan as the independent Church of Bangladesh. The church is led by most reverend Paul S. Sarkar who in January 2003 became the third bishop of the Church of Bangladesh. The 71 parishes are divided into 2 dioceses. The church has approximately 15,600 members (2005). It has been a member of the World Council of Churches since 1975 and functions as part of the larger worldwide Anglican Communion The attraction of this building, built after the style of east churches, with a square clock tower with arch windows on its walls. The square clock tower rises in two stages,[4] its top is embattled. The roof used wooden battens on iron joists. The roofs of the verandas on either side are set upon sloppy korhikath. The delicate stone and brick works of this white plastered building are still as immaculate as it has been for nearly two centuries.
