Nightmare at Popular Hospital Brutally commercial cages for patients. 75% rooms do not have a window. 25% rooms have window but not allowed to open. Poor ventilation with central AC. No access to fresh air. Extremely poor quality blankets. Patients are not allowed to bring their own blankets. Every single blood sugar test needle and strip costs approximately 30 taka, and patients not allowed to make their own tests. Patients are not allowed to have their own food. The only food allowed is whats available in the cafeteria, which is another source of profit. The cafeteria is open from 8am-10pm. Even the reusable thermometer is sold to the patients even if they do not need it. Patients are not allowed to have their own medicines and forced to take medicines made by Popular even though better medicines are available in every pharmacy. Good doctors prescribed good well renowned medicines but those are then changed within 2 hours to Popular branded medicine which require often an extra solvant for 50taka. There is security control in almost every door. Security is tighter than Bangladesh Bank. Patient attendants are harassed by security on a regular basis. During the day there is random security checks in all cabins on the number of attendants, food that is being ate, and unknown number of things. Ward boys, helpers and nurses are paid only 6000taka salary. They do not have any sitting or resting arrangements and lies on the floor on a piece of paper. They do deliver a very good service because the supervisor comes 5 to 6 times a day to the patients to ask if they have any complaints against helpers or nurses. Popular hospital has a fixed target quote for every cabin and uses ever possible measures to maximise profits from dying patients. These measures ranges from food, blanket, space, medicines, furnitures, lighting, ventilation, water... During admission the cash counter commented that the "cabins cannot stay empty, it must be filled to 100% with a waiting list" A commerce made out of people's health and desperation. The worst management in a horrible hospital!!! Amazing how profitable a hospital can be made by Dr. Mustafizur Rahman with just a MBBS and a talented business mind. Wonder if these management people also have a family, or loved ones? Do they also get sick?

The help desk of Popular Hospital is very bad. The behaviour of some of the people there is very bad. It took me four hours to get a general bed, but the bed was very empty. They don't care if you go to the help desk for any problem. I am very disappointed to see their management. However, the Popular Diagnostic Center is very smart.

To much expensive Not good service I was with my mother Only one night. Thay make me bill 77000 taka. I hope never come back in this hospital.

They have a big team of renowned doctors, and also provide good services for imaging, pathology, pharmacy etc. However, charges and fees are much higher – very much out of reach of middle-class people.

A diagnostic center later became medical college. All kinds of medical diagnosis is available there. Very clean inside with excellent interior design. Enough seating arrangement for the waiting patients. The entrance is always busy with people and vehicles. The only problem is it's price which is higher than the conversionals.

Be careful to come this hospital ICU bill 20 hours 77000. We are not setisfy there treatment So we change hospital after 1 day

It should say mainly diagnostic center and external consultant based business. Most of the specialist are not full timer and mostly external. For instance, if you need orthopedics dr, you may need wait for a day to match with his/her routine. Duty dr are always available and helpful. But they do not take major decision without specialist dr suggestion . There is issue with co- ordination between different section. Some of the top dr have very high profile and they are mostly busy with outdoor patient visiting and other hospital. So far most of the specialist dr are good. But as a hospital, this is not right place to stay and take treatment due to lack of coordination

Though fairly new among the procession of medical colleges of the country Popular Medical College has already, attained an enviable status for its outstanding care in preparing the students for their MBBS course. Popular Medical College is placed in a prime location of Dhaka City. Most of the civic facilities are situated within 5 km. radius of the college. The college campus is easily connected by all types of transport and is within a very short distance from good dinning and shopping centers. The college has well-furnished residential hostel for the students situated near the college with dining hall and provisions for dining in groups. The academic building has adequate number of well-equipped air-conditioned lecture halls for large group teaching, conduction of examinations and social events. Every department has well equipped laboratory and or museum and adequate number of tutorials class rooms. All the class rooms are air conditioned and well furnished. The college has an air-conditioned library which is rich in the quality of books and supported by qualified & efficient staff to help the students. The college has built an additional reading room where students can study in extra hours. Designated teachers remain present in the library by rotation after college hours to help the students as and when required. The IT center is placed in the library to enable easy access to all.

Renowned diagnostic and consultation centre. One of the oldest. It has a great collection of service available. I believe they have hospitals and pharmaceutical industry as well as. As for diagnostic service bill collection and report delivery is really scattered. They is no single place for all bill collection and report delivery. Different diagnosis has different billing centre and report delivery is also scattered. Its kind of not efficient. It kind of confused me about the management. To give you an example blood sample billing, sample collection, report delivery is at ground floor. USG billing, diagnosis & resort delivery is at 4th floor. Fibro scan of liver with CAP billing and diagnosis is at 3rd floor and report delivery is in another building. So if you are doing these three report you will have to bill it separately diagnose and collect report from 4 different places. Its crazy.

Second best diagnosis laboratory service in Bangladesh. They publish test results so quickly!

The most commercial mentality institute with irresponsible staff I ever seen. But the senior doctors are excellent. Not satisfied with with the service. Should change their mentality, monitor the staff to improve the service.
