As per the Finance Bill 2021, the VAT on AC restaurants is reduced to 10% from 15%. However, the dining of Empyrean Hotel, “Sauce & Spice Restaurant TM ” billed me with 15% VAT last week. They technique they followed is somewhat very clever. Their all food price, à la carte and set menu are inclusive 10% VAT which is stated at the bottom of each page of the menu. That means, the government prescribed VAT of the food is already included in the price. Nonetheless, while submitting my bill, it was printed that the VAT was only 5% (which is actually additional to the 10% inclusive in the food price)! To my utter surprise, they were pretending that they gave me 5% VAT waiver reducing it from 10%!! Referring the law, I first asked who gave them licence to remit VAT by 5% , then I questioned their process of cutting people’s pocket charging extra 5% in the name of false VAT. They didn’t bother to be sorry, and claimed that was a clerical mistake. For me, it encompasses consumers right and public interest, which are at stake, and I'm pretty sure that the concerned are doing it knowingly. I didn’t expect such an act from an institution that is run by a disciplined Service. I'm not sure either whether they have stopped this malpractice. This is a fair acknowledgment, next time I would report it to the legal forum.

Experienced the meeting decent room facilities, rooftop and dining area. The Chinese cuisine served here is average, however the "finger" club sandwich is quite generous in portion and taste. Rooftop seating is pleasant with views of the Old Airport tarmac that will keep you interested.

Excellent services, panoramic view

Used and dirty pillow covers and bed sheet were provided. I mean those were not washed after use by the previous guest. No iron was kept as room item which was unusual for hotel of this price. Behavior of the gatemen was of extremely low class, they are not well trained. Breakfast items were very ordinary with limited varieties. Gymnasium has very limited space and items. No salon. However, it's ok if we consider this is a low class hotel with higher cost

One of best place to have dinner with your closure. The ambient is so clam and serene. As well as this is a fine dinning restaurant. The food was average. Place is highly recommended.

If you like something, you might want a 'second serve' or 'another helping'. These phrases can be used when you're having more of the dish once you've finished it the first time round. If you have a few more serves after that, you can say you've had a 'few helpings' or 'too many helpings'. I wouldn't mind having a second serve of that. I've had so many helpings! It was delicious. I ate way too much. I'm really full now. When we want to recognise the person that prepared the meal, we can say: The meal tonight was very tasty. You've done a great job. Thanks very much, you cooked that meal to perfection. Your cooking has really brought out all the many flavours.

Staff is polite and supportive. We had some issues in room cleaning but they attended promptly and to our satisfaction. Travel desk supported well with good cars.
