Though I'm a follower of Jainism yet I like to visit Gurudwaras frequently. The ecosystem there is just amazing. A dedication to the highest level, respect for their religion, equality, and volunteering for shoe house irrespective of status - are a few traits which are rare in other religions. May it be Golden temple or Bangla Sahib or Paunta Sahib gurudwara you may find such traits across all. Paunta Sahib gurudwara is so peaceful inside the main hall that I used to sit there for hours. The kitchen for preparing meals for the langar is so big that my daughter said "wow". Quite an ample space is there for parking outside the gurudwara. There are a lot of shops outside the gurudwara selling toys, handkerchiefs, and especially wrist bands. The feeling there is such that you come back again and again.

Wonderful place for visit.... Waheguru ji ki khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh... Lots of shops are there.. And prasad is so tasty. They say u never go empty stomach after visiting gurudwara. There is a small museum, you can see lots of pictures along with stories, how they sacrificed, how they fought, how they loved there people etc etc. Place is clean and tidy. U have to cover your head while entering the gurudwara. Mauka mile to ekbar jaroor jayiye, or khana bhi khilayiye, alag hi sukoon mehsoos hoga. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Paonta Sahib is a significant religious and historical town located in the Sirmaur district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It holds great religious importance for Sikhs as it is associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh Ji spent several years in Paonta Sahib and composed many Sikh religious texts, including parts of the Guru Granth Sahib, during his stay there. Some key attractions in Paonta Sahib include the Gurudwara Paonta Sahib, which is a major pilgrimage site for Sikhs, and the Yamuna Temple, located on the banks of the Yamuna River. The town is known for its serene and picturesque surroundings, making it a popular destination for both religious and nature enthusiasts.

I recently had the privilege of visiting the Gurudwara, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. The Gurudwara's architecture exuded grace and grandeur, showcasing the rich Sikh heritage. The pristine white walls, adorned with intricate designs, created a tranquil atmosphere conducive to introspection and prayer. The langar was an embodiment of selfless service and unity. The delicious vegetarian food was prepared with utmost love and devotion and the volunteers humility and dedication were inspiring. The prayer hall was a sanctuary of solace. The melodious recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib, accompanied by soul-stirring hymns, transported me to a realm of spiritual bliss. The ambiance was filled with devotion and reverence, creating an atmosphere conducive to deep contemplation. I highly recommend a visit to this Gurudwara to anyone seeking solace, spiritual enlightenment, and a glimpse into the Sikh way of life.

Paonta Sahib Gurudwara is of historic significance to the pious Sikhs, as the 10th Sikh guru Govind Singh had stayed here and written religious scriptures. The Gurudwara is located on the banks of river Yamuna and its said that the guru had asked Yamuna to flow calmly without noise as it distracted the guru writing the Holi scriptures. The very clean and tidy interiors of the Gurudwara brings peace to the minds of devotees sitting inside. There are other buildings surrounding the main Gurudwara such as the Guru ka lunger hall, the Sheesh mahal etc. Sikhs get their kids marry in adjoining hall with religious gurus blessings the newly weds. The visitors are given special Kada prashad before they leave the premises. A must visit Gurudwara- amongst the most revered by the Sikhs.

Got the opportunity to visit this holy place along with my family on a pretty cold Sunday in January 2023. It's located very near to the border of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It is said Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here for more than 4.5 years and wrote many religious books. This place exhibits a few weapons and pens used by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Just like any other Gurudwara this one is immaculate and peaceful. Situated on the banks of Yamuna River, it offers a serene view of the riverbed and mountains. Must visit the ghat and the Hanuman Mandir located below.

Beautiful place. Very well managed and organised. Can be crowded during some days. Mostly crowded during the weekends. Beautiful river view at the rear. We had awesome langar. Car parking is also available which is free of cost. There are shop’s available outside as well for souvenirs. If coming from Uttarakhand side, then state entry tax needs to be paid at the barrier. Wahe guru ji ! 🙏🏻

This place is one of the key attractions of the city, and must say they have a strong internal control system and one can even stay there for the whole day without getting bored listening to 'शबद' . You must have Langar prashad there specially Curry chawal and yes Yamuna view from the back side of Gurudwara is not something you'd want to miss. One lesser star is for that area which is crowdy and without any maintainance outside of the gurudwara. Some places are not just peaceful they are spiritually beautiful too and this place is one of them. LOTS OF LOVE for the Community..... ❣️

We visited Gurudwara Paonta Sahib on our trip to dehradun and it was our ist destination and I just mesmerized by the beauty of the sculpture ❤️📿 This is what is called God's way of beckoning traveller's and we entered the Gurudwar... Tranquility and charming simplicity were the immediate impression one sensed as we proceeded to the inner sacred precincts... There was a sense of calmness and serenity and all external noises receded to a remote background The complex has a level overlooking the Yamuna and the river looked extraordinary peaceful for the mighty river Yamuna..and was later told of the story behind the taming of the Yamuna by the 10th Guru Gobind Singh who founded and resided for 3 years at Paonta Sahib.

Gurdwara Paonta Sahib is a place that touches the soul. Stepping into this sacred haven was a profound and humbling experience. The tranquility and spiritual aura enveloping the surroundings are nothing short of magical. The kindness and warmth of the staff and volunteers are a testament to the values upheld here. The langar, a community meal, is a beautiful embodiment of equality and selfless service. It's not just food; it's a symbol of unity and sharing. The architecture and the history of the gurdwara are awe-inspiring, and one can sense the rich heritage of Sikhism in every corner. I would highly recommend visiting Gurdwara Paonta Sahib to anyone seeking a deeper connection with spirituality and an understanding of the Sikh way of life. It's a place where the heart finds peace, and the soul finds solace."

For many many years I wanted to visit this Sacred place , Finally the time came to see this magnificent gods Beauty . What a lovely place to refresh yourself . I had to go to chandigarh from here but then after I started listening to Gurbani ,I forgot everything , Prayed for some time . it was soulful to hear them more . I was lucky to have them during my visit as you don't get to hear such beautiful singing in the name of God . Bowed my head before the Supreme to bless me , Asked him to Guide me on creating a magical Journey for this lovely society in which we are living ✨️ ❤️ I had my Langar in the form of lunch here where they served food with warmth & love . It was heartening to see people from good families cleaning utensils , Serving food , Sweeping the floor . This is what is called a true service to humanity & the Supreme almighty . I have decided to do the same someday fulfilling one more wish of mine . Then I went to see around & took some pics of the lovely & colourful flowers which was well maintained . Finishing my Journey with the cup of Tea in the Langar area was a joyous moment as I love Tea 🍵 Time to bid good bye to this magical place ✨️ 💛 🌈

The nearest airport is at Joligrant Dehradun, 61 kms. from Paonta Sahib,The nearest railhead is at Dehradun, 45 Kms from Paonta Sahib,45 Kms from Dehradun and 180 Kms from Chandigarh,Once ener into the gurudwara, you are welcomed with a positive vibe, calm and peace in mind. Visit the main structure and the whole complex. There are also some small buildings inside the complex apart from a museum. Go the back side of the gurudwara and you will lost with the beauty of the flowing river, the bridge which I have mentioned above. When you are in any gurudwara it is advisable to have langar there and here it is also no exception. There is "Langar Hall" on the LHS of the Hall which serves hot meal to one and all 24X7. There are rooms to stay for those who wish to stay overnight. Gurudwara Sahib provides solace, tranquility and peace of mind.

Gurudwara Paonta Sahib is a place where 10th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji lived for 3 years during last years of 17th century. It is very noble place to visit and pray. Yamuna the holy river passes away very calmly from the back side of Gurudwara Sahib. We stayed there in NRI sarai. It was a very good place to live in too. Must visit place to get peace of mind. A hindu temple is also situated on the back side of gurudwara in adjoining premises where yamuna poojan is done everyday.

What can one say about such a place. This is one of the iconic gurudwara which was built in the memory of the tenth guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I personally have been visiting this particular gurudwara since 1990s and to my surprise the vibe of this place has not changed, everything else has changed though. Definitely a must visit!!!

Gurudwara Paonta Sahib is a revered shrine of the Sikh religion. This sacred shrine not only renders a spiritual comfort, but also offers us an insight into how Sikhism has sustained. The place got its name either from the fact that Guru Gobind Singh set his foot here or because he lost an ornament here that he used to wear on his foot. As per stories, the Gurudwara was once visited by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth guru of the Sikhs. The Sikh Guru came to Sirmour on the invitation of the Raja Medini Prakash and was so impressed with the courtesy of the king that he decided to spend the next four years at Poanta and left a written account of his life in the kingdom, which he described as the happiest years of his life. It is said that, once Raja Medini Prakash and Guru ji were exploring the place. On their excursion, Guruji was so much impressed that he decided to construct a camp on the bank of the river. Guruji laid the foundation of this holy city with his own scarred hands and named it Paon-tikka, which is known as Paonta Sahib today. As a token of respect and gratitude, Raja Medini Prakash decided to build a Gurudwara on the bank of Yamuna River. Before leaving the Gurudwara, Guruji fought many battles against some of the neighbouring hamlets.

This Gurdwara was built in memory of Guru Gobind Singh  ji, the tenth guru of sikhs. The Gurdwara enjoys a high historic and religious importance among the followers of the Sikh religion world over. The Gurudwara have a palanquin "Palki" made of pure gold, donated by devotees. Shri Talab Asthan and Shri Dastar Asthan are the vital places inside the Sikh shrine. Shri Talab Asthan is used for disbursing salaries and Shri Dastar Asthan is used for organizing the turban tying competitions. A legendary temple is also attached to the Gurudwara which is rebuilt recently in the vicinity of Gurudwara compound. Kavi Darbar, a prominent place near the Gurudwara is the venue for holding the poetry competitions. The weapons and pens used by Guru Gobind Singh Ji are displayed in a museum near the Paonta Sahib Gurudwara. The Gurudwara is visited by tourists from different states. The site is situated on the bank of River Yamuna. This gurudwara serves langar (parshada)for all. The pure beauty of gurudwara signifies that God is one and we all are its children.
