The stay was pleasant. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Group activities are planned by the travellers every other day which makes is suitable for solo travellers. Food in the cafe is great. This place suitable for all age groups and specifically safe for women travellers. The Zostel is at an appropriate distance from the main square and other tourist attractions. Although do be aware of the stairs that you’d need to climb every time you’d want to head out.

Extremely disappointing. Zostel has entirely lost its charm after turning into a big corporate. Bunkers were dark and had zero ventilation. The approach to the hostel is through a long, dark and dingy staircase from a busy road which seems both dangerous and tiring to get in and get out every time. There was a drunk person who passed out on the stairs the whole evening and night that i was staying there. To top it all, there was no water in any of the toilets or taps, bang in the middle of the monsoon, for the whole night! The only decent thing was the sit out at the cafe, where i spent almost all my time, and whose pictures are probably what is keeping the hostel packed. The view is nice from there and the place is well lit and comfortable. This would've been a 1-star review if not for that.

Loved the stay here. Great view from the terrace. The cafe serves decent food. You have to come down 100+ stairs to reach this property. Main square and food options are at walking distance. Overall a great place to stay in Mcleodganj.

You have to walk around 2-3 km to reach the hostel from the main road and there’s a lot of stairs on the way you would not want to climb those. Amazing vibe at the hostel, good food, service were great, rooms were so clean and maintained. This kind of places are best to stay and work, you end up making some friends too. Also the view from the terrace is so beautiful.

We had a great stay at the Zostel Mcleodganj! Our room was private and had the most amazing views of the mountains through two large windows. We woke up to the sunrise reach morning and it was incredibly peaceful. The hostel itself is nice and clean and had many areas to hang out and relax. They also have books in the communal area you can read and the views from the balcony are wonderful. The food at the hostel was also really tasty! We are Definitely going to try out other Zostel around India now! The location is great to walk around Mcleodganj and to explore the neighboring villages.

We stayed in Dorm as well as mountain view room. Dorms as usual are nice and affordable but their mountain view rooms are expensive as compared to other nearby hotels which offer far better room with similar view but lesser price. The best thing about Zostel is their cafeteria seating space and view!🏔️ Food is good and prices are also not too high.😋 I highly recommend their Tea ☕️ it’s the best tea I had in Mcleodganj!!!! Location is good as its very near to main market area but important thing to note is the stairs 😅. There are nearly 50 stairs and they are very difficult to climb specially when you have heavy luggage with you🥵 Overall I recommend this hostel for solo travelers and group of friends.

The bestest place ever.. would recommend everyone to stay there… everything was so good … The view , stay , food, staff everything was great. Me and my friends stayed there for 5 days and loved it.. The cafe there, Indie by salvation serves great food and you really don’t need to go out anywhere for food. Rajat is there in the cafe throughout the day and will definitely guide you for any help you need in the city and is very approachable. I would recommend everyone to stay there for once and enjoy the experience

Akshat's food is just amazing! Especially his tea is to die for! I have not had this brilliant food in a long time! Rajat is equally amazing as a host! He is very considerate and helpful. Both of them created a very warm experience for us. Kudos to them!

It was a very amazing stay at zostel, they had local activities planned everyday, so after a day of work at the work station, we went out in the evenings and afternoons to explore. The location is also very good, because we would go out exploring in the evenings. There are cafes to explore are close to the location as well. I liked their hot chocolate and would recommend.

Great location, service is also great. The restaurant serves good food and the evening bonfire has a great vibe to connect with other Zostellers. We could not join some of the explorations planned by Zostel folks but that’s also a plus. The only drawback is the accessibility as there are tall stairs at least 60-70 which need to be climbed up and down to get to the Zostel and out of it which is a task if you have suitcases. They provided the help to carry the luggage though.

I recently stayed at Zostel, Mcleodganj, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. The dorms/rooms were clean, well-maintained, and cozy, offering everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The common area on the terrace were vibrant with amazing panoramic view. The hostel’s location was also convenient, close to all the key attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet area, perfect for some peace and relaxation. A special thanks to the entire staff including the Volunteers for their incredible support, warm hospitality and for always being available with a smile for any requirement. I highly recommend Zostel MacLeodganj to anyone looking for a friendly, clean, and comfortable place to stay. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

The location can be a bit tricky, but overall, it's the best. The rooms and food are good, with a wide menu. The staff is friendly and cooperative. The corridors boast great artwork, and they've maintained the place well. There's a balcony with an amazing view of Triund, perfect for breakfast. Plus, they offer all facilities, including dorms and workspaces - they've got it all!

I would like to share that we have received excellent services through the Zostel unit. Rooms are equipped with well decorative instruments, and it was unequestionably larger as well as spacious. All the delicious foods are available there. We have enjoyed ourselves a lot.

The place is perfect, the vibe warm. A special shoutout to the host team- Sunny, Manish, RK and everyone else who are mindful and pay attention to detail and give great suggestions for the place. I had planned a 2 day stay , and then their warm hospitality and the community I met made that turn into a whole week !! The cafe has great food, some killer night sky viewings that the team curates and captures .for the first timers, the team not only suggests but creates interesting local exploration plans and event nights. The place has a lot of heart, and will keep me coming back, despite the 96 stairs !

Amazing place with amazing view and a great team running the place. There is adequate space to chill or to work from home. The view from the cafe is absolutely beautiful and the food is delicious. Special Mention to Rajat from the Management Team who always makes sure that everyone in the cafe is having a good time. There is also bonfire every night which really adds to the vibe. Highly recommend!!

I stayed here along with a friend for a week and we had one of the best vacation, thanks to the highly engaging and welcoming Zostel team. The curated experience which included hikes to sunset points, bike ride to Bir with hostel group organized by Sunny from the management team, bonfire at night, lots of games and much more added to the fun. Food at the cafe was extremely delicious with great service and lot of options. Dorm and private rooms were very clean with all essential services provided. Overall highly recommended to elevate your trip experience.

I recently stayed at Zostel McLeod Ganj, and it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. The hostel's vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff made my stay truly memorable. The dormitory-style accommodations were clean and comfortable, offering a budget-friendly option for solo travelers like myself. The communal spaces, adorned with colorful artwork, provided the perfect setting for meeting fellow travelers and sharing stories. What sets Zostel McLeod Ganj apart is its fantastic location. Nestled in the heart of McLeod Ganj, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The rooftop terrace became my favorite spot to unwind, offering a stunning panorama of the Himalayas. The staff deserves a special mention for their warmth and hospitality. They were always ready to assist with local recommendations, travel tips, and any queries I had. The common kitchen was a great feature, allowing guests to prepare their meals and bond over shared cooking experiences. While the hostel embraces a communal spirit, it also respects individual privacy. The bunks were equipped with curtains, providing a personal space within the shared dormitories. In conclusion, Zostel McLeod Ganj is not just a place to stay; it's a community of like-minded travelers sharing the joy of exploration. Whether you're a solo adventurer or traveling with friends, this hostel offers an excellent blend of affordability, comfort, and a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend Zostel McLeod Ganj to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable stay in the beautiful Himalayan region.

We went on a Workation and the experience was Amazing. The rooms were clean, the view was mesmerising and the service was commendable. The cafe inside the Zostel is amazing too. Delicious food and friendly budget prices. There were 2 awesome people - Rajat and Ankit who were available at our service always. Cheers to them. Also, the reception staff was helpful too - Sunny and 2 other people (forgetting the names). Overall superb experience, highly recommended! 😊

Location is quite tricky, otherwise it’s the best. Rooms are good, food’s good too, they’ve a wide menu, staff is quite friendly and cooperative. Corridors have great artwork . They’ve maintained it well. They’ve a balcony with greeaaaatttt view of triund (as they say), must have breakfast there. They’ve got all facilities, dorms, working space, you just name it, they have it.

The hostel is really nice with amazing view and great vibe. The graffiti/art works and stories on the walls look absolutely stunning. It's a perfect place for staycation with work station and delicious food at your disposal. You get to meet other travelers, share stories and take part in activities organised by the staff members. Special thanks to our host Sunny, he was quite sweet and friendly, he guided us in the best way to explore the local and nearby areas. He even went an extra mile to send us back our stuff that we forgot at the hostel. And obviously one can never get enough of the clear night sky and star view out there. Don't get overwhelmed by the iconic 96 staircase, it just preps you before you start exploring the rest of town.

Stayed for 3 nights in double bed room with a balcony. The room is clean, spacious and plenty of storage. Clean, running water and a lovely balcony. The bed was very uncomfortable, I would recommend asking for another blanket to lay on top of. DO NOT STAY HERE if you came in your own vehicle. We drove two motorbikes and the property has no dedicated parking. The entrance is in the middle of a long staircase. The room was nice, but the most expensive we have paid for so far in our two weeks in India. The staff and common areas are what give it a high score. A more apt rating would be 3.5 but Google doesn't allow this.

All I can say is this is home for me. I stayed here only for 6 days but It felt like I've been here for ages and everyone here is just family. Be it a man or a woman, people and their service is just what makes you feel like home. So don't think twice before booking your stay here. Just go ahead and blindly trust them to take care of you! And and, my special mention for the cafe above - Indie by Salvation, indeed food better than your home. The Vanilla Cappuccino🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻.Go ahead and book your stay already !
