We came here for breakfast. We had the Snow lion special breakfast combo and the American breakfast combo. The fresh apple/orange juice was yummy. The breakfast was light and tasty. The homemade jam was a little on the sweeter side for me. The milk tea was average. The service was quick and the staff was polite. It is one of the very few places that is open for breakfast in the early hours. Thank you for having us, Snow Lion restaurant. We enjoyed our breakfast.

Our regular haunt during our stay at Mcleodganj. Once we found this place, we stuck to it. Be it their hazelnut and irish coffees or their filling breakfast combos, they were totally Yum! The apple pies (yes, multiple) that we had were some of the best. Highly recommended!

Don't miss a visit to Snow Lion restaurant. Best food, number 1 coffee, and cakes, of course. All super clean, friendly, fast service. Can't wait to be back there again.

My friend and I ate here 3 times the 3 days we were in dharamshala. The food was so good, I wish I had more days there to try even more. Every time we came in, it smelt so good. We ordered the Thukpa, Thenthuk, cheese spinach momos, chocolate banana pancake, banana honey porridge, veg omelette, veg & cheese burger, and I can’t remember the name but it’s bread stuffed with vegetables and a cheese deep fried (see pic). All of it incredible. The first visit we spent 5 hours there reading, and it felt like home away from home. They didn’t even kick us out which we would totally have understood if they did. Oh also I got the Apple pie with ice cream, just do it, you won’t regret it. They have a bookshelf with books you can read. Great Wi-Fi! The people there are so nice, I like how you can write down your order so there’s no confusion. The vibes are cozy and the food is good and at a reasonable price. Come here, feel good and be happy. 😌

This is the single best place not only in McLeod Ganj but also the whole region. Been all round the world and very little compares to the quality, standards, and service provided at this wonderful cafe. Would give six stars if possible.

Wonderful place with fantastic ambience and truly lovely and kind owners and staff. The food is delicious and portions are generous. As a vegan I have been able to explore many items on the menu and have had no hassle with substitutions where necessary. Particularly love their thentuk as it’s loaded with veg, as are their amazing spring rolls. They also have an incredible selection of fresh juices and home brewed kombucha. If you’re in need of a western breakfast, Snow Lion has a great selection, including many vegan options (porridges, pancakes, set breakfast). Food is never oily and it’s great to have the option of steamed or lightly cooked veg. Walls lined with interesting books, locals, tourists, good tunes, a huge window which looks out at the temple opposite. It can be hard to leave this place once you’ve snuggled into one of their comfy seats…

We visited for morning coffee and some snack. We ordered few types of coffee, you can't mess much with. So it was as expected. 4* Tried Tibetan bread with cheese. As it's first time I tired, didn't know what to expect.it was a bit sour and salty bread as explained by staff. I would give 3.5* for my taste. Pancake with vanilla ice-cream scoop - it looked like parota instead of pan cake it can be much better. 2.5*. Will I visit again? May be for coffee.

This was my first time ordering the Tibetan thukpa and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the special, which includes tofu, egg and veggies and the broth as well as the noodles were very tasty. They also give you a spicy sauce to top your soup with that I added at every bite. It was very good. Also ordered a masala chai and it was one of the good ones I've had in my stay in India. Service was quick, the place was very clean and there was no loud music and quiet guests. Overall the experience you want to eat a heartwarming soup at the end of the day!

The best place to eat, relax and share time with your thoughts or your friends. Kalsang, the owner is kind, compassionate and super thoughtful. The staff and chefs are brilliant. Snow lion has an ambience and a vibe unlike no other, it’s a place for me that feels like home. The menu is extensive but all the meals are lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients in a clean environment and everything is made from scratch. I was thrilled with the overwhelming amount of vegan options from snacks to meals, side dishes to the delicious pancakes. Really quite excellent vegan food! I can’t recommend this place enough and will eat here time and time again whenever I spend time in this area.

The food was tasty. I recomend their protein shake with banana and blueberry as well as seeds like chia seeds and other grains. They have sofas which make it really cozy and nice to sit. They also have a book shelf.

Coffee was over extracted. They charge extra for honey on pancakes. Pancakes were OK but not very bananary

This is a review for the Snow Lion Cafe. We absolutely loved it so much that we went for three days back to back. Amazing food that's authentic and light on the stomach. Very affordable prices. Do try the special thukpa and honestly any of the beverages. Posting just a few of the many dishes we tried here. You won't be disappointed!

I ate the spinach cheese momos and blueberry cheesecake! I was really happy with the momos because they weren’t overly salty and the spinach was fresh! The cheesecake was delicious and the ambience and design and music of the place make it so calm and nice to enjoy dining. Thanks.

We enjoyed our food, we tried a various things from noodles to fried ice cream. Staff were friendly but speed should be improved, the eaiting times were little too long.

Beautiful coffee shop, cafe, and guesthouse upstairs. Jazz lightly plays while you can sip your coffee and read any of the hundreds of books in the library. Tibetan owned and operated. One of my favorite spaces for quiet reflection in McLoud (McLeod)

Cozy place to hang out. 2x food undercooked, I'd say you better order traditional Tibetan food here. Had a crispy noodles dish and a pizza and both not great to be honest. Highly recommend their KOMBUCHA though! Or coffee and cake :)

Espresso is good here. They have books for reading, but not enough lighting. So, bring a lamp along. Pancakes are good here. I didn’t like the momo I got only because I don’t like spinach and cheese. What else? Good ambience. You’ll feel the shakyamuni beaming down on you, especially on Saturdays. It’s probably due to the place being pure vegetarian and its proximity to the temple. I liked the fried rice, but I did not like the vegetable soup. Anything breakfast is a sure fire winner. Anything not breakfast is a sure fire you know what. Don’t sit next to the window. You can if you’re a Saint. The nearby poor people beg by the windows. I couldn’t finish much of my food due to being stricken in the conscience.

In Mcleodganj for a while studying, I often came here for breakfast after gym or yoga. Awesome buckwheat pancakes with curd and banana. Awesome protein-hit omelette of paneer, mushroom, broccoli, spinach. Awesome turmeric and papaya smoothie. Awesome Tibetan tsampa. Awesome hot water, lemon and ginger situations. Did I mention this place is awesome? Shoutout to the nicest team in town with particularly big love for my main man, Tenzin. Thanks for fuelling days of uphill walking, friends - I’ll be back

Of all the places I ate at while my vacation in McLeod Ganj, this was the best. The food is good, but the ambiance is even better. It gives the vibes of a cozy cafe. They have plenty of books and you can easily have conversations with friends without loud music disturbing you. I loved the carrot cake here.

Visited for breakfast yesterday, and had really terrible experience. While the food was okayish, service quality was poor. And surprisingly, staff refused to even acknowledge when issue was highlighted. Better to avoid the place, as there are many other restaurants/cafe in nearby vicinity who treat customers with respect.

Our favourite veg restaurant in McLeod Ganj. They are able to accommodate our need for vegan options without any onion and garlic. Wide variety of healthy fresh fruit juices and smoothies. Thentuk and pasta are delicious. There is also a gluten free pancake if you fancy some dessert with some vegan hot chocolate drink. The people are nice and friendly!

Delicious freshly prepared authentic Tibetian, Indo-Chinese, Indian, and others types of cuisine. Loved their noodles and Tibetan bread dishes. Lacto Ovo Vegetarian ( does have some egg based dishes that are clearly marked on the menu).

Love this place! Came back a second time (which I don't normally do) for the delicious breakfast and the amazing orange juice (which tastes like actual oranges and not that extremely sweet fake orange juice). Prices are fair and expect to pay around 300-400 for a decent breakfast

Snow lion is a wonderful veg restaurant and cafe! The coffee is some of the best I’ve had in India, and the food is quality. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Had both dinner and breakfast here. Relaxing ambience with qn eclectic selection of books to read if you want to chill for awhile. Food was delicious and a wide selection including western, vegan and traditional tibetan. Jamaican hot chocolate was a highlight. Coffee was as good as any I have had in Australia. Excellent value too. Thank you 😊

We've eaten here repeatedly years ago and food was much better. Well, now food was nothing short of Disappointing! There was pretty much no item we ordered that was satisfying : spinach soup was tasteless and weird, chapatis were chewy, veg burger boring and dry, the fries with it not crispy, even the simple lemon honey tea didn't taste like fresh lemon squeeze, but like lemon juice from the store. Snowlion, you might need to make a little more effort if you don't want to rely only on good location.

This is the best vegetarian restaurant in McLeod ganj. Everyone is friendly, staff is helpful attentive and kind. It’s family owned, great menu with plant-based milks available for cappuccinos and they make a really good cafΓ© Mocha. It has a western and Tibetan menu and also really good desserts, homemade. Also has a good mix of westerners and local crowd. i’ve been staying at the Snow Lion Hotel which is above the restaurant for over 27 years. It just keeps getting better and better …it’s very clean. They’re really good with hygiene, nice sheets and blankets, beautiful views and just a few minutes walk to the temple. I’m a solo traveler, so this place has always felt like family and home. I love it and contributes to a great experience in McLeod Ganj
