Couldn't be better situated. You get view of the Bridge and old Cal on one side and the SBI building on the other. Quite a unique experience for me. Entering the property you first cross a twin track which is operational! Then you arrive at the reception which is on land then you are taken across the bridge on to the anchored barge which is your hotel. Please note the structure does move and bob with the currents and tied, if you suffer from motion sickness you will have a difficult time. The lobby and stairway were beautiful and well maintained. So were the restaurant and the top deck and bar. The rooms we stayed in were not up to standard. The carpets the fittings the drapes shoot age and are dirty. The baths were in a bad condition and need renovations. Will be happy to revisit when the rooms are refreshed hopefully!

Went there to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, the ambience was top notch as well as the staff behaviour. Everything was great and all... But we were in shock after the food came. Midway through eating, my partner found a "burnt cockroach" in the plate !! We just couldn't believe our eyes. This is a 4 star hotel ! And we found this in our food. Just disgusting. Immediately called the manager, he sincerely apologised straight away and offered to serve all our remaining orders for free but we just couldn't stay there any longer. After a few minutes.. the chef came and he also apologised and told to have something before we leave...but our appetite was destroyed.. after few minutes we just left.. we really had a bad experience.

I booked a table and went there to experience dining in Ganges. I was hearing so much buzz around about this place and the experience. During booking they have confirmed that they also have buffet service. Once I reached there, they informed that their ship went for maintenance so their restaurant is full and there is no buffet service. Eventually we were accommodated in launch, at a corner. Seating was very uncomfortable and there were other table and chairs very close to mine. In a small room they have put almost 20 people. Foods are priced high and the quality & taste is average. My evening is ruined and I have no interest to experience all these nonsense. They are all about marketing.

Special mention for Room 101. Best view in the hotel. You can spend hours at the private deck of this room. Hospitality, service very much appreciative. The food however is a let down. Compared to the price, the quality and the spread is at best slightly above average.

The location is speechless 😶. The howrah bridge comes within the view and the floatal is situated on the ganges. The ambience is beautiful for evening and nights. Best place for date night . The food is mediocre, people mostly visit this place because of the environment and ambience. Best for couples.

The best place to have a dine or lunch. People go there for the ambience. Food pathetic . Service pathetic, but everything will smoothen up for the view and location . But very very avg food . Good for a romantic dinner . They also arrange candle night dinner, charges some 6k .

Standard place with standard amenities. The services and the staff are just about okay. Nothing to complain about but nothing special to mention too. You can hardly feel that you are floating when you are inside and the experience is pretty much of being in a crampled interior which natural for a ship but would feel nice when you are sailing. When you are just floating at one place it is just average. Not a great value addition and the plush feeling if a nice hotel is pretty much absent. Truly speaking the ambience does not feel as special and different as is shown in the advertisements.

Visited this month after a long time. Recently renovated. The river facing restaurant with a deck is simply great. Lovely ambience. Food and service excellent. Enjoyed. Staff equally friendly and polite. Must visit if you love elegance and comfort.

Looks good Great location and ambience Uniforms need to be given a serious thought.. It might associate with the Navy Culture but a touch of elegance and a better colour option would make guests happier right from the time you enter.. Food is OK.. Not that exotic. Service needs to be looked into very seriously. Training the restaurant personnel on a lot of areas will attract Corporates, Tourists and Guests more and will enhance the footfall beyond one's imagination! Feedback given to one of the officials. Hotel location is good which is the main attracting point of booking and spending your precious time here. Food quality was good and also delicious. You can enjoy the scenic beauty at night with some live music. However the service quality can be good. Rooms were not totally clean and response from the reception was very late. I had to call them twice or thrice to fix the issue. Some of the essential items they forgot to provide in the room.

This restaurant has a crazy open air ambiance makes it a must-visit with family and friends. For dinner. Even the service is commendable and the staffs are customer friendly. A must visit if you are in Kolkata. Book the open deck sitting area on advance if you want to enjoy the river view and cool breeze.

I attended a welcome wedding party on the 3rd Deck. It was nice but the snacks were cold and the live kebab served was not cooked well. The main course was so so and the food was cold. While coming down the lift was not working so we had to take the stairs. The ambience was good.

What a beautiful place to stay. Calm, and the views are absolutely beautiful. Food is also very good, clean and they maintain hugenge. Service is also very good. Each and every staff is so helpful and well mannered, you can see the smile in their face in return to your smile. One room service boy name Rakesh, so humble and helpful, helped me a lot. He is a very nice guy with a smiling face.

The view is amazing with floating water of river. And food is delicious. And hospitality is very good. I give it 7stars. So nice place. Everyone have to spend precious time from life at this place.

We had booked this hotel for a day with high expectations. However, the stay was not up to the mark due to following reasons: 1. I had booked a room with river view however, room provided to me had no view of the river and opened up to the road. 2. we woke up at midnight to the sounds of rats. there are several rats creating a lot of problems. felt unhygienic. 3. staff behavior was not great. Did not feel welcome at the hotel. 4. Quality of food was not great considering the expensive menu. Overall, we had a lot of expectations but headed back with an unsatisfied feeling.

My family booked the restaurant and upper deck for a birthday party..the hospitality of the staff is good .. The ambience is great especially from the upper deck.. It's open air and above the river Ganges so it's a unique combination.. Food is a big big let down here. The amount of money you pay is worth it. Indian items in the buffet are the worst. The quality of main course items is not up to the mark.. There are not many varieties in the dessert section of the buffet. Only two items in the starters were good.

Booked a river view room in November. Rooms were small. Bathroom was very small. Too much wood paint smell as they were renovating completely at the time. Can book once just for the experience. Restaurant is nice. Breakfast which was complimentary is not upto the mark.

We only went to the restaurant, so I don't know about the rooms. The ship has gone for a complete overhaul and will be ready from September 2023. There will be more than 50 rooms. This time our restaurant was in a barge. We were ushered in the AC dining room. The food was good but not every item on the menu was available. Drinks were also restricted to mocktails and soft drinks.

It is an absolute delight to be able to stay exactly on river Ganges over looking the beautiful river and its too banks. The rooms the decor, the service and the food. Altogether makes the place just a memorable experience. If you do not want to stay at least visit the place and have a cup of tea or enjoy a breakfast buffet or enjoy lunch and dinner buffet. This place is absolutely mesmerizing and a must visit.

We went there for dining and it was amazing experience. The location & view were superb. Food was really nice and service was superb. All the stuff were polite and know how to help you. Overall awesome experience. Try to visit just before sunset and take a place outside then you will see an awesome view.

I wish I could give less than 1 star.. They do all possible way to loot money from the customer. In the name of hospitality they are horrible.. the pathetic thing is if u book a room for stay and u r two then pls one person has to be sleep on floor . because the bedsize is not enough for one person. And they call it a queen bed ..😀😀.. One lady called me and wanted to know about my stay experience but after hearing all issues she agreed to work on the issue and committed me to keep me in loop for all discussion but here also they just completed their formality.. may b u can like the ambiance but even somebody offer me a free stay I swear I will not stay.. that much pathetic this property is....

Great place to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Go to the deck during the evenings for some fresh air and breathtaking views of the Ganges. I Very nice experience while staying at this property. One of the best place to stay and hangout and the food could have been a little better. The staff could are more caring and helpful Chandradip. Kudos to the team to keep it so well maintained.

We had a booking for a special event and they promised a nice room on the boat but unfortunately we got a room very small and with broken door, except the location of the place there is nothing extra ordinary, food is average not that great, couldn't meet expectation. On the other hand toilet is not maintained for the south bank room.

We went to the bridge Bistro restaurant for lunch. A beautiful place located near Eden gardens. Floating restaurant from where you can see beautiful sunset on river Ganga and Howrah bridge. We were skeptical about food quality after reading reviews. But they have very good food and service. A bit costly though. Overall an awesome place.

The location and the ambience is excellent . One can't imagine such a place exists right in the Ganges. They serve everything from food to alcohol to hookah. I could only say that the food could be better.

The Rooms are Pleasure on Earth!! View is much much soothing and pleasant than imagined with river view and floating water around! Mr. Sona-The morning (Breakfast time Restaurant Manager gets more than 5* Stars). He exactly knows how to handle guests and serves with a smile to all guests. My Cheese Dosa use to be ready with just my entry. He was highly caring and performing his duties absolutely perfect! I was not well on date of check out and he also allowed me to take fruits as I was not eating anything. I wish him success and bright future ahead! I loved watching train going on road :-) I am rating 3 stars: 1. Room Service levels are average 2. Managerial staff extremely in- courteous, especially evening restaurant staff 3. This hotel is known for weekend gateway for fine-dine in restaurant, they usually ignore guests staying! 4. There are NO options of food joints around & you have to forcibly eat at restaurant in the evening with poor service levels. 5. It is highly priced for the services in the room if you are on a official trip. It is okay for weekend enjoyment or one night stay Rest, it is worth a visit property once in a lifetime (without expecting a warm welcoming behavior) from Managers!

One of the best places to visit in kolkata! Service is extremely good, the room and other amenities are really good as well. Food is exceptionally good, every dish we tried we're just perfect! And the mocktails are out of the world! In one word, it's a kind of luxury trip in Kolkata itself where you won't even feel you're inside a metro city!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's front desk manager Md. Ibrahim and few other staffs .They have done an amazing job from top to bottom. No detail has been overlooked. It is a testament to the fact that you can have a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and still set yourself miles apart with an amazing staff and wonderful service. Form the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. Everyone had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. It felt like a small family. the Fresh Air on Ganges was so mind blowing could not get better anywhere else The rooms are comfortable and incredibly well designed. As I said, I cannot say enough and could go on forever. I am happy to go into much greater detail. But the bottom line - I recommend this hotel without reservation...to anyone...go as much as you possibly can.
