Tilt proves the point that you don't need a lot of space to offer great service, food and drinks and a convivial atmosphere. Yes it is more of a pick up a coffee and maybe a pastry kind of place, but if you linger a little longer, the people watching experience is well worth it. There isn't much in the way of seating for big groups, but that's not a reason to not sit and enjoy your treats inside or outside. The cakes and pastries on offer are so yummy and the coffee is fantastic.

Tilt Coffee ☕️ what a win! We visited this splendid Melville spot a few weeks ago after a Sunday run and can’t wait to go back! I can highly recommend the strawberry overnight oats and mocha (pictured), SO good!

This tiny spot, just off the main drag in Melville is a gem. You can count on a warm welcome, really good coffee and if you want a treat, try the in-house made banana bread. If you have some time to spare, sit down at one of the handful of tables, and you'll have an endlessly entertaining view of the passing parade of locals of and visitors to Melville. The toasted banana bread with tahini is scrumptious. Lia and her team are totally pet friendly; there's more than one water bowl with fresh clean water and canines even get cuddles and treats. Highly recommended.

A small, intimate coffee shop in Melville - ideal for kicking back, relaxing and enjoying a cup of good quality coffee. The menu focuses on coffee for all tastes, with some snack-food, like muffins, on offer. It's a lovely place to visit and spend time at - whether you're on your own on with friends. The notice outside "coffee and friends make the perfect blend" sums up the whole experience at Tilt.

Leah the owner is the perfect hostess and very intuitive her customer's needs and her products. The coffee is some of the best I've had. Coffee and friends is Tilt's slogan and it's perfect for this destination cafe. Shakes are out of this world!! I had the most productive working day in a pretty aesthetically pleasing and humble environment. It's small space but is eadily oveelooked by the treatment and vibe. A must go for creatives and coffee connoisseurs.

Amazing place to grab a cup of coffee or fresh drink, Offering freshly baked cakes and cupcakes as well. Really wonderful atmosphere and vibe. Staff is very friendly, food taste really amazing, the service was excellent and I would highly recommend this place to the health junkies out there who want to get a lovely smoothy.

-Watched the kitchen staff scrape food off of the preparation utensils with their bare hands and on to plates they then served to customers, all while using their phones, eating their own food and touching the pay terminal (no hand washing or gloves) -Floor was dirty and tables not cleaned -Wait time was 35+ minutes for a toasted sandwich (they were not busy) -Blender is unpleasantly loud, to the point of not being able to communicate with anyone inside while it's on Can't believe it's the same place people rate 5/5

Absolutely amazing vibe! Service was excellent and what we ordered was delicious! Found a new fave ice coffee here. Great decor, plants and quirky books.

As other reviewers have stated, more of a 'pick up & go' than a sit-down type of place, but there were one or two other dine-in patrons at the time I visited. A slightly stiff/weird atmosphere in the sit-down area, but the Bacon , Cheese & Egg sandwich was good and the coffees were solid :-D I didn't try any of the cakes, but the selection looked delicious!

Always great to stop by for a coffee or bite where the beans are this good and the baristas so friendly and competent. Not a bad shot pulled nor milk not expertly foamed. Consistency like this over time is tough to pull off. Bravo to the owners and staff here.

👍 The restaurant is situated at the Wits University. I went with my brother and we entered through the main university entrance, later we realized there is an easier way to access the restaurant which is directly off Empire road. The restaurant is at bottom part of the university and is partly indoor...
