Beautiful hotel with the most stunning view over the whole of Clarens. It offers a luxurious countryside experience. We had breakfast on the rooftop terrace and although the service was slow the food was very tasty. Their menu and wine list is extensive and the staff is very friendly. Worth your while!

Restaurant is located in a very dreamy hotel. Came here on a quiet rainy Saturday night and they lit a fireplace for us. Food was good and service and impeccable.. absolutely loved the outside view.

We had a wonderful ladies brunch at Il Castello. The scenery is beautiful. Cocktails where better than the food, not that the food was bad, but I did have high expectations. The omlette was delicious and so was the sandwich, but the other 2 breakfast items lacked some flavor and love.

If tranquility is what you are after, go to Il Castello. Quiete and away from the bustle. The staff are very friendly and they take good care of their guests. It is worth a visit.

Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely views and amenities. Only thing is the WiFi signal in the room was poor and the TV needs an upgrade

A 2 day stay, first day we were in Gabrela room it was terrible then got moved to Nicholai which was much better. Staff were very good and understanding. The hotel is in a great spot. Just be careful picking your room.

Visited this place on 2023-09-29 to 2023-10-02 with family having a birthday also wow👏 the beauty of it where it’s situated u can see the whole of Clarens from a peak point. The rooms are so beautiful my mom kept on saying this place is better than Durban🤣 everything here is sooo beautiful. The neatness, safety of our cars,the Good service we got from Fana, Karabelo, Masabata, Jeff, Steve,Prince and the Chef, ooh my what a good hospitality guys keep up the good work👏👏👏

Wow, what a nice place. I took my wife there for our 40th wedding anniversary a couple of days ago. From the moment we walked in there it was service with a smile from all of the staff. They made you feel that you are the only guests at the hotel. From the welcoming drinks to the bedroom that was so beautifull made up to surprice my wife with chocolates, drinks and balloons. The accommodation is great, the views is stunning and the food is fantastic with a great menu. Thank you to all the staff that made our trip special and thank you for moving us from the Guiseppe room to the Luca room above the restaurant to make it easier for my my wife who battle with all the stairs due to oxygen related issues. We did not even asked them to do so. Thank you so much. We will definately return.

Exceptional architecture in an idyllic setting. Top notch menu with perfectly prepared and presented food. But what sets this hotel apart are its wonderful staff. Only word of caution is that there are a lot of stairs, but if you can manage those, go ahead and spoil yourself.

A very beautiful place, beautiful spacious rooms, big comfortable beds, option.of shower or bath tub, there is a flat screen television with many DSTV channels to choose from. There is an air con and a fire place to choose from. The food is be best, variety to choose from during breakfast.Warm Breakfast is ala carte so I advise you to book it early to avoid delays. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, u get to see to town, the surrounding moutains, the birds the sky oh what a place. The staff is professional always willing to assist and always does everything with a smile. I will call again

Lovely afternoon spent on the terrace with a tasty platter followed by dinner by the fire place. The portions are plenty struggled to finish my tasty soup. Beautiful views and cosy indoor spot for winter.

Rustic small town beautiful experience! Some roads kept as is, no franchise/chain trading, country homestyle living. IL Castello scenery to die for! Loved every piece of this hotel.

We stayed in the presidential suite and had a wonderful time. Balloons and a card were provided along with orange juice and chilled champagne to make mimosas celebrating our engagement. The bath was large and came with bath salts, generous amounts of hand cream and foot cream … it was a dream. The room was spacious and clean and the view was lovely. Restaurant service was excellent and the food was delicious. Very friendly staff! Only downside is that the restaurant does not have Spotify Premium so our romantic dinners were interrupted by ads.

An excellent place, very hospitable venue to sleep at, though Im late in reviewing it doesnt matter. But because soon I will be passing by, i felt the need to appreciate, cleanliness, good food, excellent environment, courteous & professional front desk staff.

The best stay ever at Il Castello! The friendliest staff and beautiful rooms. The food is absolutely delicious and the gin tastings so good. And the spa - so relaxing! Could not ask for a better weekend. Thank you to everyone who made it so special!

Wow! Absolutely stunning. The friendliest and most helpful staff you can imagine. We stayed in the Mona Lisa and the pictures don't do it justice. If u can afford, book this room. Has 2 balconies with a indoor fireplace and a massive bathroom. The rooftop balcony is stunning. The views are amazing and overlooks the town of Clarens. It looks and feels as if you've stepped into the pages of a romance novel. It's a luxurious countryside getaway. We stayed with our 4 year old and it was a pleasure. A great perk is that they offer a shuttle into town and back so we just parked our vehicle off. The turn down service was a lovely touch esp in winter. To come back from supper and have the fireplace burning, the bed warmers on, the bed made ready to sleep and chocolates on our pillows was so delightful. Certainly an Instagramable stay as wll. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I absolutely loved it. Stunning, breathtaking views with the Maluti mountains in the distance. The spa is absolutely fabulous, what a treat. My restaurant experience was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was great, the food was amazing. Definitely a winner. I will always return. Well done to the team for great service and a unforgettable experience.
