Trying to give the pro shop a call for the past 4 dats to book a round of golf for the following weekend. Eventually answered my call… a young gentleman answered the phone and asked my name and mobile number and just dropped the call. After phoning again and letting him know that i did not appreciate his rudeness and and went and did it again… as an avid golfer this was really disappointing for the Clarens tourism and the sport Golf.

I had the time off my life. Beautiful spot with the most amazing cottage. This is a must to anyone who needs a break from the city and relax. I am in love.

My first visit to Clarens golf&trout Estate, It was in the beginning of September, just coming out of winter, so course was not in all it's green splendor. The course layout is amazing and very difficult, I wouldn't rate this as a beginner friendly golf course. It has well placed tricky bunkers, there's water on al.ost every hole and fairways are tight. The service and food was great. I did not have enough time to try fly fishing as it was a golfing day with friends, but I will return and then try to get a few trout on the fly too. Clarens is just a beautiful and special place for me, so I will always return.

A favourite SA destination of ours. Delightful tourist town that seems to always have a great vibe on weekends. Love the winter vibe here. Lots of interesting gift, clothing, art, deli, home and craft shops and a multitude of wonderful restaurants for all tastes. Also love the handmade local Sandstone sculptured crafts on the outskirts/entrance of the town.

Heaven nestled midst the mountains where one can marvel at the starry sky, walk under the canopy of trees accompanied by the chorus of birds and a neighbourly dog as companion. The town hosts a variety of shops that appeal to the creative soul. The restaurants and deli’s beg for a eating-out event. If you need to recharge your soul’s battery, visit Clarens.

Awesome course in immaculate condition.....the 1 star rating due to the very poor Hole demarcation. From 10 you VERY easily proceed to 18, nowhere does it show that you to go through a tunnel to 11.(you ride past it / tunnel big as a house - but they wont show you this actually the way to 11) Same on way to 16, you get a fork in path, L takes you to the houses in estate, R to 16 (but they wont show you the way) rather you muck around trying to find the correct path. I repeat myself, awesome course, awesome condition - just a few niggling irritating points.

Fantasic estate to stay in. Away from the town when it it busy, but still close enough that you can pop down quickly for a lunch. Estate offers scenic views, and lots of tranquility.

Lovely course. Fairways need a bit of care, but the greens are world class.

The golf club house has a great restaurant. The food is good and the staff always friendly and attentive. The view is beautiful and it is peaceful to just sit and have a cappuccino (which is really good!).

The second time I stayed on this estate, this visit included a heated pool. A total of 15 people on a girls' trip, creating unforgettable memories. The houses are clean and beautiful, and the estate itself is stunning."

We hosted a bridal shower on Saturday, 4/11/2023. Desiree and her team are exceptional hosts! The reception was so warm, the food was scrumptious and the views are breaking taking. I would definitely recommend this venue for any event.

A very well maintained golf course in a picturesque part of the country. Golf carts are available for hire and recommended. There is an iconic hole where you tee off down the side of the mountain. If you're a golfer and plan to spend time in Clarens, bring your clubs and play a round or two.

The golf course is in beautiful condition but the guy in the pro shop can be more friendly and helpful. Prices for golfcarts are ridiculous.

What a wonderful experience... From the lodging to the view! It was just spectacular. This place is refreshing and offers you that peace of mind you need. We obviously booked to be here between the 2nd and the 4th of Sep... Usually during this time, spring is breaking out... The grass on the mountainous areas was a bit dry, but oh My Word , how beautiful it was!

As always Clarens is a wonderful getaway - arty place with lots of little shops, restaurants and places to visit. Very cold this time of year but lovely. Noah's Cheese farm just outside of Clarens is a must visit.

Richard and his team are amazing. Brilliant food, great course, best setting in Africa and if you're a golfer it's a must to play. They are superb at golf days and tours and catered for our touring party of 28 with not a single problem over 4 days of fun.
