Despite the waitress's excuses for the new lady in the kitchen, it was a pretty bad experience for us: we waited an hour and a half for our farmer's breakfast and it wasn't worth it. However, the croissant with salmon was very tasty. And all the cheeses were good.

Excellent cheese and meat plate with homemade French-style rustic pork pate and locally made pastrami (best I’ve had in SA). Small, but Lovely grounds with a small, but well-curated selection of local jams, honey and curios like antique milk cans! Owner enthusiastic about cheese production and it shows. NOT pet-friendly! There is apparently a sign somewhere but we only saw the beware of snakes sign😬

Wow! What a little gem in the centre of Fouriesburg. Amazing cheese selection and hospitality. Worth a visit in every sense. Madelien the manager was attentive and could tell us everything about the cheese selection, about 10 different cheeses. Parking save and secure as well.

Best fetta cheese I have ever tasted, changed my perception of it completely. The farm butter was amazing too. Keep up the good work, this is a gem in Fouriesburg.

Whilst exploring Fouriesburg and Clarens we stumbled upon this beautiful farm. Greeted with soft grass munching and the occasional moo, Jackal’s Hill Farm is an experience second to none. Valerie the cheese maker is a wonderful hostess and her cheese an out of this world experience. This is a stop you cannot miss! And the cheese cake is a must!

We heard about Jackal's Hill from staying in the owner's holiday flat in Clarens and just knew we had to drive out. The dirt road was just bearable with our small i10, and the walk towards the tasting room was beautiful, giving you the "farm-feel" We had a cheese platter and Gluhwein, with the Gluhwein being some of the best I tasted during our winter weekend in Clarens. Service was not the best, and the ladies weren't very knowledgeable about the cheese/farm, but the tasty cheese made up for that! We also bought some amazing farm butter from the shop, and I wouldn't mind to get my hands on their Health Bread recipe :)

What a pleasant surprise to enjoy the best cheese platter ever! The fried halloumi was outstanding. Thanks to Madeleine with her bubbly personality who served us well. Highly recommend a visit to this little cheese shop in Fouriesburg.
