This guest farm is on the border between South Africa and Lesotho. It is serene and tranquil with nothing but the birds and the very gentle farm pets to distract you. There are hiking trails, which take you up to the top of the mount from which there are magnificent views of Lesotho and the Drakensberg range. Dermott, the owner is very accommodating and helpful. It is also less than 30 minutes from Clarens.

I had a fantastic stay at Camel Roc Guest Farm! This peaceful and picturesque self-catering location was a true gem. Surrounded by lush greenery, it provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and adventure. The hiking trails were a highlight of my visit, offering stunning views and a chance to connect with nature. And for those seeking a bit more excitement, the mountain biking trails were a blast. What truly set this place apart was the warm hospitality of the hosts. Their friendliness and willingness to make my stay comfortable and memorable made all the difference. I would gladly return to Camel Roc Guest Farm in a heartbeat. It's a self-catering chalet accommodation I highly recommend to anyone seeking tranquility and outdoor fun.

We stayed over at Camelroc on 24 September 2023. Our hosts made us feel completely at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the "farm-feeling". Wide open spaces, two dogs playfully running around and even the cat came to say "hello" . The accommodation, bathroom and dining room - all neat and tidy. Definitely your "home" away from home! Best campsite ever!!! the views from our tent, the facilities, the hospitality, the hiking trails were superb. Tracy and famliy went the extra mile to make our camping experience a wonderful one.

Stayed in one of the chalets. Very well appointed self catering kitchen and the whole unit was very well set up and cleaned. The views are amazing. I have also stayed in the campground and it's great. Will definitely be coming back

Used it as our base for two nights when visiting Katse dam. Conveniently situated very close to the Caledonspoort border post. Comfortable, clean accommodation. Beautiful scenery. We were a group of four and everybody enjoyed the stay at Camel Roc.

Fantastic Get away, with everything you could want if looking for a peaceful self catering comfortable stay. Brilliant hiking and Mountain Bike trails, as well as a really tough 4 x 4 trail for those up for a challenge. Very close to the border, so getting in and out of Lesotho is a stones throw away. Loved it!

We had a wonderful stay at Camelroc. Dermot the owner was so welcoming and helpful. We were as snug as could be in the stone cottage. Camelroc is perfectly located right at the border to get into Lesotho early in the morning to go skiing.

What an amazing place to visit. A Very sceneric and serene place situated on a vast piece of land with unbelievably amazing land scape near the Caledonspoort boarder. Camelroc Guest Farm is about 25km from Golden Gates Highlands National Park and Clarens. We travelled as a family of fourteen and spent two nights at Camelroc Farm. Our chalets were so clean, spacious and the kitchen was fully equipped. There were no TVs in any of the chalets and no network..which worked in our favour. We really bonded as a family.

Was almost as if it was a nuisance having us there hospitality is non existence Host should warn/bikers about the road leading to the place Dogs on the property thats also not so friendly It could be a fantastic place if above is sorted

Nice place to do day-hikes. Beautiful mountains. A bit noisy from the Lesotho side at certain times.

Great MTB route at R50 per head for day visitors (covers for two days access). Route is technical and beautiful and 100% single track! Options of 5km / 10km / 30km with maps provided and route marked very well (we did 5km in 38 minutes 😳) South African signal limited to none - just follow the signs to Camelroc. Dermot (host) was very helpful and welcoming. Safe drinking water on site. Will be back!
