Our second visit to this stunning Guest House. What a pleasure to arrive to a clean well kept accommodation. The braai baskets were so welcoming as all of the restaurants were so busy and we just wanted to do our own thing. Thank you

Beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms with stunning views. The gardens are picturesque. Service is friendly and we felt very welcomed. Their everything omelette is the best breakfast I've ever had. Seriously. Situated walking distance from the city centre. Will definitely be returning. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! 😍

Our stay here was wonderful, it was a much needed peaceful rest. The view is breathtaking, the service from everyone was warm and friendly, we felt completely welcome and at home. The everything omelette is the best omelette I've ever eaten! The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the garden is just as beautiful as the view it shares, if you plan a trip to Clarens I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else!

Myself and 2 friends stayed over the Cherry Festival weekend and we were absolutely blown away, from the stunning grounds to the kindness of everyone who worked there! Mt Horeb is under new ownership and we had the pleasure of talking to the owners, who went out of their way to accommodate us. Sonia and her husband are the kindest people and will ensure that you have a very pleasant stay! Breakfast is included - it consists of cereal, then a hot meal and some filter coffee, the perfect way to start your day! Lauren the manager is very accommodating and offered to make us packed breakfast when we wanted to get up early for a hike. The rooms are very spacious and clean with incredible views and little seating areas which are great to sit at and enjoy a cup of coffee. Mt Horeb is located very close to town and there is parking available on the property so if you want to park your car and walk it is very safe to do so. They also have board games available which was so nice as it rained at night. Wifi was good as well! This is an absolute gem in Clarens and I highly recommend staying here, whether you’re just wanting to have a relaxed time or if you’re wanting to keep busy.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Sonia, Tinus and Lauren are fantastic hosts, really went the extra mile when choosing activities in the area and booking for us. Rooms are spotless and breakfasts were superb. Amazing views and very serene views and environment. Definitely worth going to again.

Very comfortable, well maintained B&B in a great location just outside the main street bustle of Clarens. Gorgeous views with excellent staff.

A lovely quiet, well run guest house well within a quick walk to the main square of Clarens. Beautiful view from the deck and dining room. Rooms clean, comfortable and adequate.

Really appreciated the effort of Lauren our host in accommodating our last-minute request. Rooms, bathrooms are cosey, clean, warm (wall-mounted heaters), and beds have electric blankets. Secure and easily accessible. Thank you, Lauren and staff for a lovely stay. 🤗

I shall remember the breakfast forever! That is the solution to unwind, the perfect breakfast, served at your room with a view. On that subject the rooms upstairs are recommended, as we experienced both upstairs and downstairs. The interiors are classic, very very neat and clean, with everything available from blow dryer to fridge, a couch facing the view, even a small dining area. The ' piĂŠce de resistance' was the spa bath in executive suite. Unfortunately it was also the shortfall for Mt Horeb Manor receiving my fifth star.... in their information book it stated all the cons.of the spa baths' use! It warned us that water consumption is high, it's sound disturbs other rooms' occupants and to be mindful of hours when you use it. So I had a wonderful guilt ridden bath.

If I should EVER stay in Clarens again I would stay here. I won't even consider going anywhere else. We have had the fortune of staying at numerous places in Clarense over the years and Mt Horeb Manor is without a shadow of doubt the best we've ever been. The hostess is wonderful, friendly and will go out of her way to help in anyway possible. The rooms are cleans and spacious and they even provide you with a few extras that you might have forgotten. No need to look for other accommodation, price for price comparison this is the best place in Clarens.

The owners, Frans and Ursula are fabulous people and make you feel totally at home. They are friendly and very visible and ensure that you are comfortable at all times. Their rooms are great and each one has a wonderful view. Their breakfasts are delicious and served by friendly staff and ouma! Definitely a place I will stay at again.

Sadly our room was very neglected, blinds on the doors were broken as well as the wall heaters. Staff welcoming was friendly and food (breakfast) was ok. I did not understand why if the restaurants in the are allowed you to dine in them why a this lodge with only about 3 occupied rooms refused to. We asked to be moved but it was declined due to all the rooms being booked, however, this was not the case. For the cost per room it's not worth the price.

We had such a lovely stay here. The owner, Ursula and family were lovely. The rooms were clean, the shower piping hot and the electric blankets and panel heaters a warm touch to a cool winter’s weekend. Highly recommend and we will be going back!

My husband booked us at Mt Horeb for my 30th birthday weekend. We stayed in the Executive Suite which was so spacious and clean. The big bathroom with the wonderful Spa bath was a bonus. The views from our room was breathtaking - absolutely gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. To top this all off, Francina cooked an absolutely delicious breakfast! Will definitely be back :)
