Delightful place and a pity we don’t cook. Else it’s a paradise to buy fresh ingredients to cook. The stalls outside the market hall is just as interesting. Had my first mirabelle. €4 per kilo! It was a bagful. Plenty of cheese and seafood and meats. Small jewelry and trinkets were also on sale and lots to take it. Check opening days and hours. Closes at 1pm.

So many delicious locally produced products. The best thing is that the cafe inside of the market allows you to bring whatever you have bought from the market, and eat it there. If you're ever there, make sure to buy a piece of the Le Beurre Bordier salted butter. It's the most delicious butter I've ever tried

Well, you would defenitly miss something if you go to Dijon without a visit to the central market. Especially on saturday the atmosphere is great, you will find some of the best food and can drink a coffee at the "Buvette" while watching the busy market.

Very nice local market. Good selection of cheese, meet, fish and other products. There is a possibility to buy local wine as well. There is a cafe/bar where you can order drinks and combine it with the food bought in the market, for example with oysters 😉

This market was so wonderfully busy on this Saturday morning and anytime we wanted was so close…the lines were long but the atmosphere was so welcoming that the line in front of us disappeared in a moment of time …

Food heaven, it's not open every day so check before making a special trip if you're not staying in Dijon. There is wealth of gastronomical delight here at every turn. The sights and smell are guaranteed to make you feel hungry even if you've just eaten so beware of the impulse buy.

A great experience for any visitor to Dijon. Amazing atmosphere. Many vendors with local products. Cheeses, olives, pastries, pastries, vegetables, marmalades... in short, everything. Worth a visit!

I love markets. The real ones, not the touristic ones and this seems to be local, vibrant market. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit it during the working hours as it does not work every day (e.g. Wednesdays).

What a cool market. Inside was busy with activity but not overcrowded. It had lots of food vendors: fish, butcher, confections, fruits and veggies, jams, honey, breads... you understand. Outside was nice too. Around the market were vendors of all kinds of things: jewelry, pashminas, toys, purses, baskets, leather goods, clothing, olive wood items, gifts, etc. It doesn't take too long to walk around the outside and inside. It's worth a morning's exploration.

Very bad opening hours and opening days. They like start to close everything one our before (which seems to me like lazy) For me as a traveler, who has been to many markets the les halles was quite boring and not alive. The wine and services were great at the café and you can order nice oysters at La mare and eat them there.

Definitely worth visiting, tasting and buying stuff. Saturday was is a bit crowded but other than that, it's a pretty good place.

Fabulous place for fresh and traditional local produce. You can also have a drink and share the food you purchased with friends and family, or with complete strangers sitting and drinking next to you. Cheers! A la votre!

A typical Les Halls in France. You will find the usual vendors selling fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, breads, patisserie, meats etc. was very clean and orderly. was hoping to find some local foods like escargot, beef burgundy but didn't find anything. still, a perfectly nice place to visit if you haven't seen a les halls before but we found it to be much of a muchness to the rest of them in France

Clean and super nice market! There is even a small bar in the center of the market. It’s nice for visitors to buy some oysters to the bar and enjoy them with a glass of wine!

Quite a large public Hall market with outdoor stands with affordable prices It's the mushrooms season, particularly for Dijon but unfortunately couldn't find any of except prepacked chanterelles ...

Market halls do not get much better than this, a fabulous array of fresh produce from Dijon and beyond. Also cute wee bar "buvette" in the middle of the market to wash down your fresh purchases. Also, loved the entertainment from a local ukelele band.

Full of excellent food and full of characters with some live music, what's not to like.

Half the stalls are vacant. The remainder sell fruit and meat that you could buy anywhere, no local specialities.

My Friday experience of a communal French market and it was great. Nice, enclosed space with quite a lot of shops selling fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat and meat products. Nice wine bars and cafes as well. Clean public toilets as well in the building.

Halles de Dijon was great! So much food, so much fresh fruits and vegetables, pastries and everything you might need for your groceries shopping. The café staff was very kind and they even let us eat some stuff we just bought at the market with their famous Kir (very good btw). Not the usual central market, filled with tourists, there were many people from the city just shopping, and i liked it!

Wonderful. An absolute delight to wander past the many food counters. This is where you want to shop for lunch if you're exploring downtown and like to eat on a park bench.
