A stunning monument as a gateway to the heartbeat of shopping experience in Dijon. Fascinating history especially its name being changed few times until settling with Guillaume in honouring the abbot of Saint Bénigne abbey. It's a beautiful setting which sits between rue de la Libérté with its shopping pedestrian mall and Place Darcy leading up to Parc Darcy. There's a commemorative plaque on it as tribute to Thomas Jefferson and as a gesture of friendship between France and America. Worth a look.

Simple beautiful monumental structure. We really like such simple buildings that complement the old part of the city and organically fit into the overall architectural ensemble. 100% recommendation for a visit, especially since it is very close to the center.

Nice gate to enter the shopping streets of Dijon. Located on a beautiful square with Parc Darcy in front of it and on the right Grand Hotel La Cloche which has a great view on the monument. It looks like a little version of the Arc du Triomphe. Time we visit, the local rugby team Dijonnais was making their yearly group photo. A place you can't miss when visiting Dijon.

Wonderful town. Interesting. Fun. Delicious eateries. Friendly people etc. Well worth the stopover for a night, on the drive to the Alps from the UK.

I have a soft spot for older architecture, and this gate truly caught my eye. Its timeless design left a strong impression on me.

Such a beautiful and symbolic monument in this small city. The nice thing about France, wherever you travel to which ever city, you'll find an arc of triomphe.

Porte Guillaume is a 18th century monumental city gate located at Place Darcy…we arrived at Dijon Gare and walked to our hotel located along Rue De La Liberte’… arriving at night revealed the beautiful nature of the Arch and the surrounding buildings…
