My
parents
stayed
here
for
a
week
in
October
2023.
The
rooms
were
acceptable
for
a
3-star
hotel.
Unfortunately,
there
was
no
fridge,
and
the
Wi-Fi
was
quite
poor.
However,
our
entire
experience
was
marred
on
the
last
day
when
my
parents,
who
don't
speak
French,
were
attempting
to
check
out
of
their
room.
The
receptionist
behind
the
desk
(who
happened
to
be
their
boss)
was
extremely
rude
when
she
tried
to
charge
an
additional
$25
for
taxes.
My
parents
had
no
understanding
of
what
she
was
referring
to,
and
she
became
almost
aggressive
with
them
as
they
were
attempting
to
leave
the
building.
My
mom
was
so
frightened
that
she
was
visibly
shaken.
This
is
not
how
the
hospitality
system
should
operate,
especially
when
dealing
with
paying
customers
who
may
not
necessarily
speak
the
local
language.
It
was
a
terrible
and
distressing
experience.
I
will
not
be
returning.
IN
RESPONSE
TO
THE
RESPONSE
THEY
WROTE
TO
MY
ORIGINAL
REVIEW:
The
balance
was
not
$636;
we
had
paid
that
when
we
checked
in,
in
line
with
the
typical
hotel
procedure.
It
was
merely
$25
for
taxes
and
insurance,
which
guests
usually
settle
upon
check-out.
Moreover,
my
parents
did
not
contact
me
(I
am
fluent
in
English);
they
reached
out
to
my
brother,
whose
English
proficiency
is
not
as
strong.
Unfortunately,
I
was
unavailable
at
that
time
(it
was
5
am
in
my
time
zone
when
they
were
checking
out).
It's
important
to
note
that
my
parents
were
willing
to
leave
all
their
luggage
behind
and
return
with
my
nephew,
who
had
the
card
used
for
hotel
payment.
Regrettably,
this
suggestion
was
not
accepted
by
the
manager.
Furthermore,
the
hotel
had
all
the
necessary
card
information
and
could
have
deducted
the
owed
amount
directly
from
the
card.
WHICH
THEY
DID!,
before
my
parents
could
leave
the
building.
It
would
be
much
more
preferable
if
the
staff
acknowledged
their
mistakes
and
offered
an
apology
for
their
rudeness
(ESPECIALLY
WHEN
THE
MANAGER
PHYSICALLY
STOPPED
MY
69-YEAR-OLD
MOTHER).
Attempting
to
justify
their
actions
with
falsehoods
is
not
the
way
to
handle
such
situations.
