Absolutely fabulous from the moment you drive in. The Abbaye is a beautiful well maintained property outside and in; tucked in the lovely Burgundy countryside. The room was top notch. That said, what makes it special was the amazing friendliness of the staff. And don’t forget the super restaurants (Bistrot and 1131).

Beautiful gardens and historic buildings, but that pretty much is all we liked about the place. Some parts of the room were not perfectly cleaned. The staff tried hard but they seemed to be not well trained and many of them didn’t speak English. The food and wine list at their Bistrot and Sunday brunch did not impress (especially compared to other places in this beautiful wine region in France). Overall the price-quality ratio doesn’t seem right!

We've stayed a few times over the years at the Abbaye de la Bussière we experienced a warm welcome, sensational food and gorgeous rooms in the most stunning of settings. It was good to see that standards are still high, we cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you to all that made our time with you, a memorable one.

The couple who saved this cherished land first developed by the monks in 1131 have given the world a loving gift. Such vision and courage to save and open this beautiful country house hotel. Merci.

Oh my, I love this place! Just incredibly beautiful, so peaceful, and a place you always want to return to! The owner is so nice as is the rest of his family who work very hard to make this incredible l'abbye/ hotel a very special place.

Excellently renovated property and grounds with respect and recognition of the long history of the buildings. Excellent service, great food and wine, knowledgeable and helpful people.

The hotel has a lot of character and the grounds are beautiful. Staying in a classical building lends a lot of charm to the stay and I would certainly go back again. the furniture and rooms were a tiny bit dated but that does not really detract from the beauty and character of the place. Be sure to book ahead for the restaurant if you refer not to drive out for dinner.

Terrain exceptionel! A wondeful restored retreat, large, peaceful, artful, with on-the point cuisine and a great sommelier, a lovely dog and a real englishman in charge. We loved it and will come back.

The grounds, the interior decorations and atmosphere were all excellent. We got engaged here at midnight during our stay. We loved walking the property and admiring the furnishings and decorations. Our dinner at restaurant Le 1131 was fantastic with great service. We will definitely be back and for a longer stay.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful setting. Very peaceful and tranquil. The building is beautifully restored and the owner Clive and his staff are so welcoming. Lunch was delicious made with vegetables from their kitchen garden and the service was outstanding. The owner took time to show us around the property which was such a lovely touch. We cycled there along the canal path which was beautiful. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely make a point of visiting again. Highly recommended.

Such a warm and professional welcome by the team! Driving through the gates and soaking up the incredible gardens, buildings and the Abbey itself: simply stunning. We had plans to hit all the many highlights of the area, yet found ourselves so relaxed sitting under the trees in the garden enjoying the view, that we barely moved! Will definitely be back for more. Delicious dining in both the gastronomic and bistro restaurants. Highly recommend.
