EN: I visited Kokuban for lunch with my colleagues, thinking that it would be a good experience (considering the 414 reviews!) but it was disappointing. Despite having Japanese staff, the food isn't very Japanese: - Gyozas are not homemade made, you can find them at any Asian supermarket; - The ramen is not like anything I've had in Tokyo or in real Japanese restaurants: the broth is watery and a bit insipid, the toppings are sparse and sometimes not very well cooked. All together, it's nothing more than a noodle soup; When I spoke to the waiter about this and stated the fact that this is far from a real Japanese food, he said that "it's a concept for foreigners" and I agree...Kokuban offers nothing more than noodles for gaijins which is quite sad.

I had the lunch menu, for 12€ I got the gyozas, a shoyu ramen and icetea. The location and ambiance were really nice. The gyozas were tasty and the ramen was also very good, altough the broth was rather thin (which is to expect for a shoyu). Service was friendly and the food arrived very fast.

Amazing Japanese restaurant. Delicious ramen, and Gyoza dumplings. Staff is very polite and fast, everything came in excellent quality. Portions are decent. Restaurant is very nicely decorated, very clean and sunny. Prices are also good, and your are getting great value for your money.

Really good atmosphere but the food was mediocre. The ramen didn’t even have an egg and the beef in the beef don was quite tough and dry.

Amazing price quality For 34 euros I get a glass of wine, gyozas and a tuna salad, staff is quick and kind. I came in being skeptical but I left extremely satisfied! They even put expiration dates and ingredients on all the spices, unheard of at other places.

Very nice authentic Japanese food, service is very friendly in the Japanese way. A large plus was that several groups of Japanese were dining at this restaurant, so that’s a very positive sign. Food was delicious, with the authentic Japanese flavors. I would totally recommend to go here if you want to eat authentic Japanese food for a very good price / quality!

This is not a Japanese restaurant. No Japanese can cook such terrible ramen! After trying the broth, my first thought was this must be a restaurant opened by the Chinese! But after my second taste of the broth, I thought to myself—this is worse than what Chinese can cook, so maybe the place is opened by Vietnamese or Europeans?

Simple and effective. Great service, friendly and fast. Nice calm vibes. Food is amazing. Loved the gyozas! This is my second time here and took a rice bowl for a change and it was delicious. Definitely a spot to try

Vegetarian ramen is to die for! The portion was very tasty, lots of flavor. Service was also nice. I had a Japanese lemonade that was surprising, I liked it. Overall the experience was great. The interior design is very clean and functional, it feel comfortable. I recommend the restaurant a lot :)

Super friendly staff, large choice of hot and cold ramen. For me the broth was lacking a bit of flavor and creaminess, but overall we had a good experience there, thank you!

One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I visited in Brussels. The servers spoke Japanese and were so friendly. Their menu is trilingual in English, French and Japanese. I ordered their cold ramen and it was absolutely delicious. They make their gyoza in the authentic way (seared on the bottom but soft on top) and I was very impressed. They have many items on the menu you won’t find in most Japanese restaurants in Brussels. Absolutely fantastic service, wonderful dining environment. Highly recommend.

High quality Japanese fare specialising in noodles, right in the international centre of Brussels. They get busy during lunch and dinner reservations… a booking was essential. I recommend off peak times if you can.

When there twice and I'm going again soon! The dishes are really good and good quantity! The staff is friendly and wants to help you. I tried the karaage ramen, the broth is delicious! If you're not too hungry I would recommend the cold udon, they are as delicious but not as much food, perfect for small eaters or when you're not too hungry.

Simply excellent. All dishes - menu offer quite a variety- are well presented, great combination of tastes (fond of Japanese cuisine) respecting tradition, simplicity, quantity... , all for a reasonable price. If around again I'll definitely repeat.

Great food and lovely service. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen which was very tasty and good portion. Vegetable Ramen was lovely too with great broth.

Tonkotsu Ramen is good but the soup is not too creamy

I love this place! The food is delicious, the price is reasonable, the environment simply decorated and neat! My favorites: octopus with the ginger, gyoza, ramen with miso broth, black sesame ice cream and the japanese lemonade.

Delicious! Worth to stop by for an amazing Ramen! We went there with a group of 6 friends when they opened as you can't book a table. The service was excellent, as they can often to the table asking if we need anything. Even if it is very warm in the room, the atmosphere is friendly.
