If you love airplanes, you just have to go here. They have a surprisingly large collection of historically interesting planes and a couple dozen of them fly regularly. The oldest one I saw that appeared to be flyable is a Boeing P-26. The place is tidy and well laid out. The docents are friendly and really know their stuff. The admission is a very reasonable $15. Update: I went back a week or so later and discovered a hangar I had somehow missed the first time. This one is set up to look like the hangar deck on an aircraft carrier and had several interesting airplanes. The rarest of them is a Ryan Fireball, an old Navy fighter with both a piston engine and a jet engine. Only 71 were ever built and this is the only remaining one. Also, I saw the museum cat. It was ambling through one of the hangars, clearly keeping watch for mousies that need chasing.

Definitely recommend taking the family. Very educational and fun experience. I felt honored to stand at the Wings of honor wall and reading about some of the recognized combat veterans gave me chills. Definitely walked away with lots of pictures and a sense of pride for our country! Recommend bringing water and comfortable shoes. Big thumbs up 👍

The staff are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and the history of the physical museum goes back to the very beginnings of the idea of 'air museums', which gained popularity after WWII. The first Saturday of each month features a public discussion and flight demonstration of one of the museum's classic warbirds. I strongly urge anyone interested in this type of history to visit the Planes of Fame Museum. There, you will find much to learn.

Never seen so many world war era planes together in one place! This place takes you to another world and everyone from all ahe groups would enjoy it. But if you have seen big museums like Smithsonian, the suggestion would be to leave that mindset aside and enjoy since this has its own heritage. The people over here are very friendly and would help with any information needed. If you love history then this is the best place to understand aviation history. Usually not crowded and one can find free parking space readily available. Entry fee for adults is $15 so reasonable.

The staff, the tour guides everyone is so hospitable, the planes, the gift shop, the history is just amazing. Restrooms clean, the plane shows, the events for the kiddos and veterans is just over and beyond. We need more places like planes of fame for boys, girls and our future. $15 per person and we’ll worth every dollar. They also have a B-17 that you can freely walk in- both cockpit and rear area of the plane. Beautiful warbirds in all- from German BG-109’s to P-51’s. Beautiful place I strongly suggest to anyone wanting to see warbirds.

Most of my life I've heard of this museum. We finally went and saw a tribute to the creator of the SR-71, Tom Cruise's plane from the New Top Gun, heard experts speak and saw so many planes up close we had to buy a membership to spend enough time to see. A very enjoyable 1st day. Looking forward to more visits and guest speakers! Highly recommended for plane lovers.

History making history you can just feel it as you walk by these awesome built aircraft you can see the scars along with every detail and imagine what it would be like just to sit in one let alone flying in one overwhelming explanations and details regarding each aircraft the building of it The missions it took on the durability the pilots the photos it is spectacular I will repeat my visit there. there’s quite a bit to see as well as all the hangers filled with people that are restoring aircraft and aircraft date wise they are restoring very old planes as well as modern planes and once again they will be in the sky very cool place!

I took my 3 year old daughter to the Autism event hosted here and she absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed here. Looking forward to our next visit!!

What a fantastic museum! People of all ages will have plenty of fun here for at least half a day. There is quite a lot to see, spanning multiple hangars and a large outdoor area between them. Sometimes on weekends they will even take a plane from their collection out to do a big talk about it and then fly it for everyone to see. There is plenty of parking, even if the lot fills up you can easily park on the street and not have too long of a walk to the museum.

This museum is great because so many of the planes still actually fly, and most of them look like they still could. Walking through the displays of this museum transports you to another era. We would like more stories and descriptions of the planes. There are a lot, but we want more.

Awesome assortment of aircraft laying around in different states of repair. Only thing I would have liked to see was the labeling of all the aircraft in their courtyard/boneyard. They gave us a list of what aircraft they had on site but we weren't sure which ones were what until we got into the hangars.

We loved the museum when we visited. The docents are very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s even better that you can actually walk up close to most of the airplanes on display.

The inventory includes the only flying example of a P-26 Peashooter and an A6M5 Zero flying with almost all of its original parts, among other aircraft. Amazing place for Warbirds and history

Had an amazing time at the museum, great selection of aeroplanes. The best part was the level of enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteers. They were great to talk to and really made the trip for us. Highly recommend 👌If you are quick they currently have Tom Cruise's P51 Mustang on display that was used in Top Gun Maverick until November 2022.

This place is a must-see. The number and variety of aircraft on display is incredible. There are numerous hangars full of restored craft and a substantial number awaiting restoration on display outside. Best to give yourself plenty of time. There are display boards everywhere, plus a video that makes a great start to your tour. More than anything, though, I'd recommend talking to the gentlemen in each hangar. They were very friendly and had more knowledge than you'll ever find in any publication. Those I spoke to had first-hand insights into the craft and events/people related to them, that you can't find elsewhere. They made an incredible place and experience amazing.

Had no idea this place even existed until I was given tickets for my son and I to go. We loved it! So many great planes and exhibits. Kind, knowledgeable staff and well laid out. Very hands on, we went inside some of the planes and vehicles.

Great museum and the airplanes fly, not simply static. You can get close and there are information plaques on a stand explaining each airplane. There are old ones outside awaiting restoration. Down the row of the old airplanes is a book store and a model room across from the library of books. Your can rent a ride in certain airplanes but was told they is a waiting list.

There is a beautiful vast line up of airplanes and WWII artifacts, from war tanks and medic vehicles to wardrobe, and a lot history information. Staff are super-friendly, the area is well kept and super clean. Prices are reasonable and most important is family oriented

If you’re an aviation enthusiast or just interested, it doesn’t get much better than this. Many of their aircraft are in flyable condition and some one-of-a-kind. Expect to spend 2 hours or so. Their docents are extremely knowledgeable, many of whom are veterans with direct experience with some of the planes. Don’t miss it! When I’m back in LA, I will be visiting again.

Excellent Air Museum that teaches me lots of history on different kinds of planes. Planes covers from World War I to Korean War, and also have tank, helicopter, and car as well. Staffs are very helpful and friendly to explain the planes and also discuss between modern planes and older vision of planes as well. It is a very good educational Air Museum where people should come to visit learning about the history of planes.

I absolutely adore the planes of Fame Air Museum. Many if not most of the aircraft are airworthy. First class Museum.

They have a huge collection of planes on site for up close view, ranging mostly from Pre-WWII to Korean War & early jet age inclusive of foreign made aircrafts from USSR, Japan & Germany. A large number are fully restored original in flyable condition. P-38, P-51, F-4U, Zero, FW190, Migs, B-25 & B-17, etc plus a few tanks and vehicles. Very knowledgeable, friendly and courtesy staff. Location is a bit out of the way from Los Angeles but it's well worth the drive and cost of admission. Highly recommend.

Now this is what I like. WW2 warbirds and most in flying condition. Spent like 4 hours here and enjoyed every minute. Had a great guide who spent time with just me and the wife. Advantage of going on a weekday I think. One of the finest museums of its type I have ever seen. Their collection is amazing. More than any other I have seen. If this is the sort of thing that interests you, you have got to visit.

The best to place to see Airplanes

My 2 year old son LOVED it! He loved all the activities, interacting with other children and the "choo choo train" The staff was extremely friendly as well. At the end of our visit my son left kicking and screaming because he didn't want to leave.

It got a little packed but otherwise this place is so cute. So much stuff to play pretend with, my two year old loved it.

My two year old also loved it. We have been to other museums but this was by far his favorite. He enjoyed the mail, the water exhibit the bank and the news room most of all. Perfect day out for toddlers. He cried when they closed and we had to leave. Best deal and afternoon around. Thank you

It was a free for all place, parents on cell phones ignoring their kids running around and not very organized. I was there for 20 min and left . Not very much like a museum, more like a big place house.

My kids loved it, great set up. Its like a small play city with a bank, fire & police area with a real Chino PD motorcycle, kitchen & baking, farm & dairy, and a stage with dress up clothing. Also, cant beat the price at $4. Its a great little pretend city for kids.

PoF is an American treasure. This collection was largely put together immediately post WWII and would be nearly impossible to put together today. With many planes still in flying condition, and several super rare (P-38 Lightning) or one of a kind (airworthy Zero), this is a must-go for anyone remotely interested in WW1-Vietnam era warbirds. If you can, attend one of the monthly weekend flights with talk beforehand.
