Gita Mandir, located in Guwahati, is a captivating and spiritually uplifting place that attracts both locals and tourists alike. Nestled amidst the serene surroundings of the city, this temple is a significant religious landmark in Assam and holds immense cultural importance. The architecture of Gita Mandir is truly mesmerizing. The temple boasts a unique blend of traditional and contemporary design elements, with intricate carvings, vibrant colors, and a splendid domed structure. The moment you enter the premises, you are greeted by a sense of tranquility and reverence that permeates the air. The main deity of Gita Mandir is Lord Krishna, and the temple is dedicated to promoting the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Devotees gather here to seek solace, offer their prayers, and find guidance in the scriptures. The ambiance is enhanced by the soulful chants and devotional songs that fill the air, creating an atmosphere of deep spiritual immersion. One of the highlights of Gita Mandir is the beautiful garden surrounding the temple. The meticulously maintained landscape is adorned with colorful flowers, lush greenery, and statues depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. It's a perfect spot for visitors to relax, meditate, or simply take a leisurely stroll while soaking in the divine aura of the temple. The temple complex also houses a small museum that exhibits ancient artifacts, scriptures, and paintings, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of Hindu mythology and philosophy. Overall, Gita Mandir in Guwahati offers a profound spiritual experience and is a must-visit destination for devotees and those interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Assam. Its stunning architecture, serene ambiance, and devotion to spreading the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita make it a truly remarkable place of worship.

Excellent, it is surrounded by greenary atop the Bamuni pahar. The concept was conceived by late Dr. Mahendra Mohan Choudhury, then the chief minister of Assam. The site was choosen adjacent to Choonsali tea estate which was inhabited by wild animals. The foundation was laid on December 6, 1971. The mandir was designed in lines with the temples of Mathura, with the Mahabharata chariot carved by famous idol maker from kumartoli Calcutta. It was inaugurated by the President Mr. gyani Zail Singh in December 11 1980. Since then it is visited by devotees all year round.

Place got old and now the main tample needs renovation to some extent, although gateway is already renovated. This tample is famous for it's gate where there is rath riding by Arjuna and driven by lord Krishna in a iconic style which is featured in many Assamese movies and series's. If someone wants to visit the place, visit on Holi and finally the environment of the tample is very pleaceful.
