This is my first time eating at this diner and it was a great experience… This was a meetup for a professional business group, I was invited to be apart of by a dear friend.. We worked together in our law enforcement careers.. Now he’s an attorney & I’m a real estate broker associate. We met with the other members of the group which consists of an insurance agent, surgeon, private investigator, medical media professional, professional baseball coach & referee and two other attorneys. Our waiters Aristedes & Dennis are great host and friendly.. The food was great and the service top notch… They also have some good pastries! Excellent location and good parking, I’d definitely recommend eating here!

We love our local diner! DHD is always a good choice. Large diner-style menu with large daily special lists also, and all-day breakfast. We stopped in for lunch yesterday and had two specials, a spicy shrimp hero sandwich and a steady sandwich. Both were sizable and delicious. (Dix Hills Dinner also often throws a couple of onion rings in orders of fries, which is always a fun surprise.) Our kids split a chicken finger kids’ meal. The kids’ meals all come with the option of ice cream for dessert, and our server was so kind that he brought two dishes of ice cream, one for each kid. The ice cream was also very good! Not just a cheap soft serve, but real scoops of quality vanilla ice cream. Everything is clearly made with very quality ingredients. The taste is always excellent. If you’re in the mood for classic American diner-style, I can’t recommend the Dix Hills diner highly enough.

Great diner. A bit pricey but the food was good, portions were large and the service was great. I was worried because it looked packed from the outside but we were seated quickly and the food was made just as fast. I look forward to coming back soon.

Great Long Island diner. My favorite - not sure why more diners don't serve it - is the Gyro omelette. Gyro meat, onion and tomato. It's fabulous.

Truly a great diner, super clean, friendly staff, and lots on that menu! I must say this place has the best potato fries and I love fries! We had couple burgers nice and hearty, I’d next time ask for more cheese on the grilled cheese burger but still was good. Clean bathrooms with cool handles, lots of parking and $1 cookies made there at the register, they were good too!

What a bunch of thieves!! Only reason i stayed is because my 9 year old was very hungry. 20$ for a very tiny omelet, i checked prices all across the menu. And its all ridiculously priced. Use to come here a lot because it was cheap prices and big portions. The price for fries n gravy alone is just wild. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I truly hope karma comes for you. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! the food is just ok. I tried my daughter’s fries (not great). My hash browns were bland and kind of awful. Gyro omelet im sorry to say was a let down.

Never a bad meal here! My family loves their home made cheesecake selection! When we have gatherings we will order by the pie! Wife was craving their rice pudding late at night... Photo showed we had something else in mind Food is fresh, place and service is clean! Late night snack turned into full blown dinner with breakfast 🤣

I’ve gone there so many times in the past and never had an issue. The food was always pretty good but I went with my friend and I had a BLAT on rye. I’ve never gotten so sick so fast. I unfortunately I’m not going back there so soon.

Had breakfast here. I was seated in the "front dining room"area neat the register. The server assigned to this location was outstanding. She was friendly and took care of me quickly. I wanted a breakfast wrap which is not on the menu. She cheerefully said that wouldnt be a problem to make and asked me what i wanted in the wrap. Coffee was fresh and my food came quickly. Everything was prepared well and was hot and tasty.

It's a diner, not a restaurant but everything about it was excellant.

I love this diner! It's the perfect place to go for a delicious, family-friendly meal. The omelets are my favorite, with so many different options to choose from. I also love the gyro platter, which is always fresh and flavorful. The service is always exceptional, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I love taking my kids to the diner, too. They always have a great time choosing from the kids' menu, and the staff is always happy to make sure that they have everything they need. DH diner is the perfect place to go for a delicious, affordable, and family-friendly meal. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat!

The tag line was, keep it simple. That they did. Good food, good service, and a good atmosphere. Simply Satisfying 😉 I recommend the chocolate chip pancakes 🥞.

Although the guy at the front counter isn't sociable, what really counts is the food and so far it's all been good. I particularly like the chicken matzo ball soup which I get whenever I am sick or just need on a cold day. Compared to 2 other diners in the area, they have actual vegetables and chicken in it instead of just sticking noodles in a broth. The servers are patient and kind, and the desserts are varied and delicious.

This place is a gem. Tried it today for the first time on Father's Day and was very impressed with the overall experience. The restaurant was packed but we were seated in a timely manner. Food is delicious and the service is excellent. It is rare to find a combination of food and quality of service these days. We ordered the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato) and a Chicken Parm sandwich, both dishes were slam dunk. Hats off to the management 👏.

really delicious food! I got a bacon hamburger with Avocado and their fries are so good. Definitely the perfect place for breakfast,lunch and dinner. I went with 6 other people plus me and it was $192 tip not included.

I came here with my friends for a brunch. I got the Reuben because I was craving a salty sandwich. It was exactly as expected and the fries were crispy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely come back in the future

I cannot say enough good things about this diner. Me and my fiance come here every weekend. The dinner special menu is outrageous!! Love the Salmon Verona, Chicken Carciofo, Shanghi Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, eveything is so good. Cooked like homemade. We love to sit at the counter if it’s really busy. The owner is so personable. He hustles along side his staff and has time to stop and make sure everything is ok with your order. I highly recommend bringing family and out of town guests here!! Oh and of course they kick butt on their burgers. Waffle fries to die for. Have fun & Enjoy. Thanks for a great experience always!!! Don’t forget to take home dessert. My fav is Carrot cake, Wow!!

Just ate at this diner for the first time today while visiting family. The waiter, Joe, (with the tattoos) is very attentive, very kind and welcoming. The food was great - great quality, great portion, better than typical diner food. Very impressed with this place. Thank you!!!

Our family went to a festival in Huntington one Saturday morning in September. We stumbled upon the Dix Hills Diner and it was one of the best decisions we made. we were greeted immediately and served instantly given we have a baby and on borrowed time. The server was beyond accommodating and patient with all my questions i have (which i have many of). He was attentive and would continue to ask after having our food, if we needed anything. My husband had the French toast which he could not stop talking about since. They were delicious and the diner also gave him real maple syrup not the artificial packets most diners serve. He was beyond impressed by that. I ordered a fresh Turkey spinach tomato egg white omelette and that was also delicious and exactly what i wanted. At the end of our meal, the server came by and brought us a piece of the diner’s homemade baked on premise rainbow cake on the house! Can i say delicious and so beyond grateful for that generosity! We went back again last weekend and enjoyed our meal again. We will continue to make a trip here when in the area.

Food was good, happy that the home fries were shredded potatoes not the breakfast potatoes like some other places. It was so busy when I went with my mom and aunt so we chose to sit at the bar instead of a booth or table like we normally would but it was just as comfy and the service was great.

Always our first stop when we are back in NY! Doesn't matter what meal your stopping in for you will always have a excellent meal (more high end dining than a normal diner). Breakfast is always a delicious omelet, some of my favorites for dinner are the salmon, greek salad and many more. But no matter if it is breakfast, lunch of dinner. I will ALWAYS order the cheesecake. I have carried many sliced back with me for my family because it is so delicious and the one piece of NY that we all love. You can never go wrong at DHD.

Having been loyal customers of Dix Hills Diner for decades this is where Mom chose to celebrate her 90th birthday! They made us feel like family- had a table for 10 ready as we’d tried to reserve a week ago-“no we don’t take reservations but call ahead & I’ll do my best!!” WOW!! The welcome. Attentive service, loving care & attention for Mom- they all came & SANG!! Truly - THANK YOU for a delicious most memorable celebration GET THE BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE - TO DIE FOR!! Best place for your money- killer quality & portions

We’ve eaten many times here over the years. Maybe the regular chef/cook was off. Fried cod dinner was definitely not the usual full golden large pieces. Not even half plate of scrawny looking fillets with a little raw shredded red cabbage on the other side. Big bowls of coleslaw & potato salad. Just okay. French onion soup was weak flavored, definitely not the usual. This was the one diner where you could order anything on the menu & have a wonderful meal. Hope this was just a bad night.

Couldn't be happier. Staff is quick and kind they made sure the bar was freshly wiped before we sat down. The food looks and tastes amazing highly recommend. It is a but crowded but what else do you expect when the experience is this good!

Typical Long Island diner as far as atmosphere goes. I got the turkey reuben on grilled rye and it was great! It was served with battered fries and two different sauces you could put on it. My friend got a chicken and fries platter and she liked it too. Food was good would definitely come back

Stopped in for lunch on the way home from Huntington. The cleanest establishment I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The bacon cheeseburger and fries were amazing. The staff and the service are well above average!

This is one of the best diners in the area. They pride themselves on the variety, freshness and quality of their food. Everything always so fresh and portions are generous. Great steak, the place is clean and it is reasonably priced. Also, the waiter was a really nice. I would absolutely come back here and recommend it
